The Clans of Pine Heath, A Short History (WIP)

Pine Heath began as a mining operation on October 1st, 1903, a few years after the, "Montana Territories," following the passage of the Enabling Act of 1889 and the ratification of a new state constitution by Montana voters. Thanks to this, Montana was settled by homesteaders on large tracts of land that were divided among families albeit the difficulty given the regions diverse and harsh environment and wildlife. And given it's importance, the population spread contributes to the low density of people here as well as the main economic activity; agriculture and mining still held a high importance to the people of Pine Heath as well as (but not limited to) forestry, hunting and fishing. However even before all that took place, there was an older entity that thrived in Montana since the early days of when the first settlers came to the Americas...

The Blackthorne Family, a coven of a vampires, has resided in Montana within the Blackthorne Estate after sailing from Europe to the, "New World," To start anew. Their fame and fortune followed, being entrepreneurs in trade and the likes, they have a variety of connections to business of both man and undead from all across the Eurasian continent. They are certainly a force to be reckoned with, but are met with a more recent rival since the Civil War. 

The Midnight Wolfpack, a group of Werewolves, also found their way to North America following the Civil War and their participation in it. Being whittled down to few numbers after numerous cryptid hunters and rival packs had hounded them, the pack started anew and found themselves in the wilds of Montana. Luckily with only the wildlife to keep them company and little to no Humans, the pack found their new land more than welcoming. That only lasted a few years before running into the likes of the vampiric Blackthorne Coven. 

Under unfortunately and confusing circumstances, the two factions waged a bloody and brutal conflict for generations to come, only until the 1980's when either group has been almost wiped out from their last war. With the damage severe and either side threatened to have their existence wiped out, a long lasting treaty was made, and thus, long lasting peace has come to pass... 

The Blackthorne Estate is known in Pine Heath as, "Mysterious," However their wealth and fortune allowed for trade from outside the United States to come and enrich the town. The Midnight Pack however deeply integrated themselves within the town itself, have their own reserve miles away with their own mansion simply known as, "The Midnight Mansion," Many of the Wolfpack safeguard this massive town from other packs and thereof; taking on roles of shop owners, workers of the labor force, and so much more.
