This dragon, mighty and without peer fell in love with a princess and took human form. Hiding among the humans this dragon set about wooing the princess and soon the two were to be wed. On the night of their wedding the dragon revealed himself to the princess, but they were being watched by a jealous maid. This maid, facing the sea, yelled the dragon prince's true name and in doing so got the attention of the God of the sea. In anger, the God of the Sea drowned much of the land. In an afford to appease the fury of the God of the Sea, the Princess offered to be placed on a new land and separate herself from her beloved. The God of the Sea accepted this offer and receded part of the waters where a new village was built for the Princess. Though this kept them apart, the two were able to yell to each other from across the waters. The God of the Sea placed his eye in the sky to watch over the two to ensure the deal was kept. On the day the Princess finally died the Dragon Prince wrapped rope around the Dragon God's eye to ensure he would be forced to watch over the land forever as a final act of defiance. The Prince then took his life. The lovers were finally reunited in death forming a magical bridge between the two lands that would appear every five years. Originally located in Honshu the Island of Aman-Irumi and city of Aman-Shi were magically teleported to the United States during the Weird Man's War in 1920 leaving large invisible portals in their wake. While they are physically in the United States, they are still connected to Japan leading to a rather odd situation that was dealt with by treaty incorporating them officially as jointly owned. They're one the youngest parts of the Great Hand Megaregion but has built itself up rather quickly. It is an incredibly magical pace, surrounded by a barrier between the material realm and the realm of demons which provides its primary source of danger it was weakened greatly in the Weird Man's War, but it is otherwise rather idyllic and peaceful. Its one of the highest center of non-human population in the states due to its spiritual connection which makes it a popular spot to visit as well as acting as a bridge between two nations if one leaves the right way, or enters the right way. It is, in its own way, rather isolated despite belonged to a populous mega region due to its practically being stuck in a pocket space with no knowledge available on how to fix it. The town and the city are quite different as well with Aman-Shi being more advanced and forward thinking and Aman-Irumi being more traditional and spiritual. They do work in concert to make quite the unique pair however. At night things get much more dangerous as the veil weakens further so most threats tend to strike at that time, or rather, the most dangerous threats do. It is advised that tourists to the area mind themselves.
