  1. We do not recommend using pictures of yours (or anyone else's) face or genitalia as an Avatar or Profile Cover. Additionally, some devices (typically mobile devices) may ask for additional permissions such as viewing your photos and such; this is not us asking, this is your web browser application asking. An avatar is a little picture that accompanies your username on most pieces of information on EcchiDreams, such as your posts, clubs, images, and so on. It doesn't have to represent you or your identity, it can be whatever you like (within the limits of the Terms of Service). Similarly, a profile cover is the picture along the top of your profile that will also appear in the hovercard (on Desktop/Laptops) when you hover your mouse pointer over someone's username. Your avatar is shown in the circle, whereas the profile cover is above that. The default avatar is usually a random colour with the first character of your username in it. This guide is split into two sections, not including this introduction: Introduction (You are here) Desktop/Laptop Users Mobile/Tablet Users If you are uncertain as to which you're on, please click (or tap) here.
  2. This is not so much a guide as an informational article. To edit your Dreamer Title, please review the Desktop/Laptop Users section of this guide, or Mobile/Tablet Users section, depending on your device. There are seven pieces of information that are editable using the edit profile button, as stated in the previous parts of the guide: Edit your Profile. This part is for your information. Dreamer Title The dreamer title is the bit of information displayed at the top of your posts. It has a set of defaults which is based on your Dreams Count, which is calculated from how many: Posts you've made. Topics you've opened. Images you've uploaded. Statuses you've made. Comments you've made. Articles you've written. Reviews you've left. So on. The defaults are currently: Title Minimum Dreams Virgin Dreamer 0 Just Started Dreamin' 1 Dreamer 10 Hentai Lover 1,000 Frequent Dreamer 2,000 Sinful Dreamer 3,000 Established Dreamer 4,000 Hentai Pornstar 5,000 Perverted Dreamer 6,000 Naughty Dreamer 7,000 EcchiDreamer 10,000 You can, of course, completely override this with whatever you like, within reason (it has to be compliant with the Terms of Service). Birthday This is where you can input your birthday, but under normal circumstances you shouldn't need to edit this. Please be advised; the staff to frequently spot check profiles to check that the date of birth of any given member shows that they are over 18 years old. If you have a date of birth that makes you under 18 years old, regardless of what it should be or otherwise, you could face a permanent ban under Section 8, Paragraph 1 of the Terms of Service; of which appealing against is impossible. So be sure to enter the correct information; you have been warned. Enable Status Updates This is checked by default, but if you turn it off, you will not be able to make status updates. Others also won't be able to post on your wall. Steam Name The Steam ID inserts snips of your Steam Profile into your EcchiDreams profile. This is useful for Dreamers who are gamers, and/or like talking about games in the Video Games forums or PC Gaming related clubs. It allows other dreamers to easily find you on Steam or locate what games you play and so on, although it's considered polite to message the person you're going to add over EcchiDreams first, to let them know you're adding them on Steam, or asking if you can, so they know who you are before accepting/declining the request. Gender You can select what you are or what you identify as: either Male, Female, or Blank (if you don't wish to give out that information or if it's 'neither of the two'). Please save yourself some time and don't bother demanding us to add any given made up gender to this list, it won't happen. You can put it in the about me section on your profile. Sexuality You can select your sexuality here, as either; Heterosexual, Homosexual, Bi-Sexual, Bi-Curious, Pansexual, Asexual, Other, or refuse to disclose via 'Undisclosed'. Please save yourself some time and don't bother demanding us to add any given made up sexual orientation to this list, it also won't happen. You can put it in the about me section on your profile. About Me The 'About Me' Page is where you can go into detail about you as a person, and it gives you a fully featured Text Editor that allows you to add pictures, colour and format your text, and even embed topics and other things from various places, within the about me page. We recommend putting a link to your Roleplayer Preferences sheet into this area, like in the signature, to advertise your roleplayer preferences, as well as any clubs you run, and whatever else you want to as well. You can even embed YouTube videos and such as 'Favourite Songs' and the like. You're pretty much only limited by the Terms of Service here, and if you have information that we don't account for (like the Gender and Sexuality one, above) you're more than welcome to add it here.

  5. Your profile page is the portal page of who you are on EcchiDreams, and is only accessible to registered Dreamers; it's kind of a way for you to showcase yourself to other Dreamers. There are several components of your profile page that we will cover in this guide, and that will be defined in this Introduction Post. Editing your profile is fairly straightforward to do, but there is quite a lot of automatically aggregated information (such as your personal activity feed). This guide will be in depth and, as some of the features already have their own guides, more information than instructional. This guide is split into three sections, not including this introduction: Introduction (You are here) Desktop/Laptop Users Mobile/Tablet Users Editable Pieces of Information Dreamer Title Birthday Status Updates Steam ID Gender Sexuality About Me So what do you see on your profile? When you go to your profile page, by clicking on the small avatar at the top of the screen next to your username (on desktops) or by tapping the hamburger menu button (≡), 'Account' and then 'Profile' (on mobiles), you'll be presented with either one of the following screens, respectively (click to expand the images): You'll see that there are number of features that are immediately apparent. This is where we'll explain them, even if they're clearly obvious. Down the sidebar to the left you can see that there are some blocks, such as: LoA - If enabled; more information can be found in the guide that is linked here. 8. This is a bit more of an in depth guide, because of the sheer scope of options you have. The notification settings allows you more control over how EcchiDreams gives you notifications, and if you're getting too many (or too few) emails, you can fine tune it to the way you want it set up. It can be daunting at first glance, but when you actually break it down it's pretty easy to understand. This introduction post will attempt to explain how the different options work, and what can and cannot be selected. This guide is split into two sections, not including this introduction: Introduction (You are here) Desktop/Laptop Users Mobile/Tablet Users If you are uncertain as to which you're on, please click (or tap) here. The notification settings page looks like this: (Click to Enlarge Picture) In this introduction post, I will cover what the different options are and what they mean. You can click either of the "Save" buttons and they will save all the settings on the page. In the first section you can see some options: Send me news and information:- Enabling this option will add you to our mailing list. You can unsubscribe at any time. We very rarely send out newsletters or mass emails. If we do, it's probably because of something important, service wide. By unticking the box you unsubscribe from this, and by ticking it you subscribe. Despite being unsubscribed you will still get emails from us depending on your notification settings (unless you turn it off) - see below. Automatically follow dreams Dreams are pieces of content, such as a gallery image, roleplayer preferences sheet, club, topic/post and so on. Automatically follow new dreams I post:- If checked, you will automatically follow everything you post up. Automatically follow dreams I reply to:- Same as above, except for everything you reply to as well; even if it isn't your topic, image, etc. Method to use for content I follow automatically A notification when new content is posted:- As soon as something is posted that you're following. This won't be emailed to you, because you could end up with lots of emails if, for example, your topic garners lots of replies. One email per day with all new content from that day:- At the end of the day you'll get an email with all the replies in your followed content. One email per week with all new content from that week:- Same as the one directly above, except at the end of the week. Do not send me notifications:- Disables it completely for content you're following automatically. You won't get notifications or emails. Notification preferences Show popup window when I receive a new EcchiText:- When you get an EcchiText on EcchiDreams, the screen will gray out to focus on the EcchiText you've just received. Only send one email notification for content I follow until I revisit the community:- This is pretty self explanatory. Play a sound when I receive a notification:- If you want to turn off notification sounds, this is how. This is what a popup on an new EcchiText looks like: Notification Options This next section is pretty self explanatory; below is a guide to the default settings, and below that is a legends chart telling you what the colours mean. Notification List; is the inline notifications you get on EcchiDreams itself. They appear under the notification icon. Email; is where you get an email telling you X has happened. 9. This guide starts from the point where you are in the Account Settings for your account. If you do not know how to get to account settings, please read the "Accessing Account Settings" guide by tapping here. Also: by tapping any of the pictures in this article, you can see the enlarged versions of them. From the Account Settings menu, just under Country, tap on "Leave of Absence". You will then be presented with this screen: To set a Leave of Absence is incredibly simple. Arm (Enable) the switch titled "Enable LOA Status" Estimate and set your Away Duration; you can select up to 180 days. Insert the reason you're going to be away. Tap Save. And that's literally it. Whilst your Leave of Absence is active, you will see this all over EcchiDreams: *Obviously the date/time will most certainly be different for you. Tapping on it will not disable it straight away; you'll be brought back to the presented screen above, where you can modify it, extend it, or shut it off. To modify the reason, simply change the reason (although it will extend it if the same duration is kept) and save. To extend the time, make sure that the duration is set and just save. To modify the duration, simply put a new number in, and save. To shut it off, tap the slider to the disable position shown above and save. And that's it. Happy Dreaming!
  10. This guide starts from the point where you are in the Account Settings for your account. 11. If you're going to be away for a few days, weeks, or even months, and you're roleplaying with people, you can set this up so it appears in your profile. It's a great way of letting people know you won't be around for a while, or even keeping people apprised as to what's happening. A Leave of Absence (abbreviated: LoA) is exceptionally useful, especially when real life gets in the way of roleplaying. The maximum length of time you can mark yourself as away for is 180 days (nearly six months), but you can extend this by coming back within that six months, putting back in 180 days, and saving it again, to refresh it. Or, if you come back early, you can easily turn it off. This guide is split into two sections, not including this introduction: Introduction (You are here) Desktop/Laptop Users Mobile/Tablet Users When you are on Leave of Absence it will appear in your profile to other Dreamers, like so: Or on mobile/tablets: (Click/Tap to enlarge the images)
  12. This guide starts from the point where you are in the Account Settings for your account. If you do not know how to get to account settings, please read the "Accessing Account Settings" guide by tapping here. Also; by tapping any of the pictures in this article you can see the enlarged versions of them. From the Account Settings menu, just under Pokes, tap on "Country". You will then be presented with this screen: When you register, EcchiDreams will usually guess which Country you're from. Sometimes it can't tell, and sometimes it might get it wrong. Sometimes, you might want to appear to be from a different country for whatever reason. You can correct or edit this by clicking on the drop down box to show the array of countries (which you can find in the introduction of this guide), and tap save. That's it. If you don't want to view other Dreamer's Flags, then tap on the slider to disable it, and tap save. That's it. This will then appear on your profile like so: Happy dreaming!
  13. This guide starts from the point where you are in the Account Settings for your account. 14. EcchiDreams shows the country you're from in your profile, to give other dreamers (say, the people you roleplay with) some idea of what timezone you're in, or preferred language if you're roleplaying over EcchiTexts (as this is an English speaking board you should be using English in public). You can of course change this to whatever country you want, or withhold the information, as is your right; you can even stop yourself from seeing other people's country information. This guide is split into two sections, not including this introduction: Introduction (You are here) Desktop/Laptop Users Mobile/Tablet Users If you are uncertain as to which you're on, please click (or tap) here. The list of countries available to choose from: To reveal the complete list (because it's long) click/tap below.
  15. The Pokes Dashboard is a great way of managing your pokes, or fighting a poke war. For desktop users - At the top of the screen in the navigation menu, click "EcchiApps" and then "Pokes". For mobile users - Using what you learnt in Accessing Account Settings: open the hamburger menu, press "EcchiApps", and then "Pokes". If your pokes system is enabled, you will be presented with this (or similar) screen: The "Poke Dreamer" button will allow you to type in the display name of the person you want to poke. If people have poked you they will appear in the list, as shown above. You can poke them back by pressing the poke button. You can delete the poke (pretend it didn't happen) by pressing the button next to it. Every poke you do that gets returned counts as a poke "back and forth". The page however does not automatically update, so if you're on the page and you get poked, you will need to refresh it. If your pokes system is disabled, you will be presented with this exact screen:

Under Google+, click on "Pokes". You will then be presented with this screen: Simply click the slider, and then save. That's it. Happy Dreaming!
  18. Pokes literally have no defined purpose on EcchiDreams... It just is. Much like in the days of "MSN Messenger" you could "Nudge" people to get their attention. However, you might not want to get poked, and that's okay; this guide will show you how to turn it off, and it's extremely easy. But if you like to take part in Poke Wars; then that is also doable. This guide is split into three sections, not including this introduction: Introduction (You are here) Desktop/Laptop Users Mobile/Tablet Users Pokes Dashboard If you are uncertain as to which you're on, please click (or tap) here.
  19. This guide starts from the point where you are in the Account Settings for your account. If you do not know how to get to account settings, please read the "Accessing Account Settings" guide by tapping here. Also; by tapping any of the pictures in this article you can see the enlarged versions of them. From the Account Settings menu, just under Recently Used Devices, click on "Signature". You will then be presented with this screen: To explain these features: The Signature Restrictions: these are physical restrictions that are in place by default. Although there are other rules as with the rest of the site that are more Terms of Service based. View Signature: if you don't want to view other people's signatures with their posts, you can turn it off in here. Or, if you've turned them off in the past, you can turn them back on. Signature: a rich text editor that allows you the same level of controls as you would have when posting. Once you've made changes here, just click save and you're done. Happy dreaming!
  20. This guide starts from the point where you are in the Account Settings for your account. If you do not know how to get to account settings, please read the "Accessing Account Settings" guide by clicking here. Down the left hand side in Account Settings, there is a menu. Under Recently Used Devices, click on "Signature". 21. Signatures are the little bits of text at the bottom of people's posts. Making one is easy, but if you don't like seeing them, and you think they're clutter, you can of course choose to cover them up. See the image below for an example of a signature. Signatures could be a very useful tool to advertise your roleplayer preferences sheet, or even your roleplay clubs. There are some rules regarding signatures that this introduction will cover, but they can also be found in the Terms of Service. This guide is split into two sections, not including this introduction: Introduction (You are here) Desktop/Laptop Users Mobile/Tablet Users If you are uncertain as to which you're on, please click (or tap) here. Example: Under the line, you can see "~Roleplay Preferences Sheet~"; this is the signature. You could use it to leave any kind of message you want at the bottom of your posts (within reason). You are absolutely allowed to advertise your roleplayer preferences sheet, your private roleplay, and/or your clubs (be that role play or otherwise). It's entirely up to you. You could have something completely unrelated, like a quote. Rules and Restrictions: Your signature can only be four lines of text, maximum. After all it's not for essays. You can only have one image in it, and it can be no bigger than 500 x 150 pixels. Pictures that are animated or over 1MB will be removed, to conserve our mobile user's data plans. You're only allowed three URL's in your signature. It's still beholden to the Terms of Service, specifically section 14; meaning you're not allowed to use it shamelessly spam. Signatures containing ridiculous sized texts (massive) will be edited by staff to make normal size again.
  22. By tapping any of the pictures in this article you can see the enlarged versions of them. At the top of most pages on EcchiDreams, you'll find a small icon with three lines (called a hamburger button ≡). If you click on it you'll be presented with a menu, like so: This has been circled in green so you can see it, just tap on that. You will then be presented with this menu: Just tap on account, and you'll be taken to the next menu level: Notice "Account Settings", which is highlighted with a green underline; tap on that. You will then be presented with this screen: Tap the "≡ Settings Area" button Where you'll see this: And it really is as simple as that. Happy Dreaming!
  23. At the top of most pages on EcchiDreams, you'll find a small version of your avatar with your display name next to it. If you click on it you'll be presented with a menu, like so: Notice "Account Settings", which is highlighted with a green underline; click on that. You will then be presented with this screen: And it really is as simple as that. Happy Dreaming!
  24. Straight up information on how to access your account settings once you've registered, this is useful for all the guides in this section. Your account settings allows you fine control over your account here on EcchiDreams. See below for what you can do with it. This guide is split into two sections, not including this introduction: Introduction (You are here) Desktop/Laptop Users Mobile/Tablet Users If you are uncertain as to which you're on, please click (or tap) here. What can you do with account settings? Each piece of information here will link to another guide that you can click or tap on, to see how to do that function. Updating your Email Address Change your Password Manage Account Security Manage Recently Used Devices Set up Signature Preferences Link your Facebook Account Link your Google+ Account Set Poke Preferences Set your Country Flag (In your Profile) Set your Leave of Absence Manage Notification Settings Edit your Profile Manage Ignored Dreamers
  25. Tap or click on any of the pictures to expand them to full size. All devices you've used in the last 90 days on EcchiDreams, as well as approximate locations, are recorded for you to review at any time. In the Account Settings, find Recently Used Devices; this should be right under the Account Security menu item, which we explain how to get to in the previous parts of this guide. Reviewing this information can be quite important, and certainly this is a useful tool for you to have in seeing if your account has been breached by someone. If you see anything you don't recognise, then you should absolutely click or tap here to review your security settings, and even secure your account. There are a number of things you can do from this control panel, such as remotely log out of your devices. Useful if, for example, you've logged in with your phone, and you've lost it or had it stolen... Or worse (and we obviously hope that never happens to anyone). Just simply click "Sign Out" on the stolen device, and change your password just in case. This will also work if you signed in on a public or shared computer and forgot to sign off. If someone who accessed your account got in via Facebook or Google+ (if you have any of these synced to your account), then we'd advise that you change your Social Media password; again you'll see from this section if that is the case. If someone (or you) logs into your account from a device that's unknown to EcchiDreams, you will automatically receive an email telling you about this too, at which point you can decide the correct course of action to take; including logging that person out. The button will take you to the page to secure your account again.
