  1. There's no "Might" about it. It would absolutely and most certainly be exploited. If we ignored this possibility and went through with it anyway, a lot of people's general user experience would be degraded severely because of it.
  2. To be clear; we're not making our own Invision Power Suite, I'm pretty sure just ripping IPS software off would be a copyright violation. We're outright making our own software, something dedicated and designed from the ground up to serve the function that we've had to rely on heavily modifying this software to do. Unfortunately; we're hitting a limit now of how we can further customise IPS to suit our needs, and it's becoming ever more apparent that the current solution of customising IPS is woefully insufficient. We are not looking at making a forum suite; we're looking at making an entirely different kind of platform. There are a number of features that are already being included in the Alpha of the software we're working on for the next Alpha release that would - at least from a moderation point of view for roleplay owners - already be an improvement over what people can do here. One of the main issues here is that whilst one person might not mind such changes being made and they're happy to take responsibility for it; what I apply just for one person would apply to every club. These permission sets are too rigid and too monolithic, and I'm afraid that's apparently by design. A reasonable person would assume that owners have more power than administrators and administrators have more power than moderators. Which is why, when we move away from this software we're going to give club owners the powers to set the permissions of their roleplay clubs. There will be a default set, but otherwise, each club owner will be able to say what an Administrator of their club can and can't do, and what a moderator can and cannot do. Essentially customise the permissions for themselves. This is roughly what we're aiming for, and is absolutely impossible with the software we're currently using here on EcchiDreams.
  3. You're very welcome. I can say at least from the feedback I've gotten from @Neptune that it's a moderation nightmare. We don't use templates usually for talking to Dreamers and sending messages to them. We type everything out so you can imagine why it'd be a pain in the backside to moderate it. That said, we should look into it. Reporting - if anything - on the site would make things a lot easier for us, it's never a bother. It makes a special notification that says "Hey! I think you mods need to see this bullshit over here." Reports that aren't actionable get dismissed and those that are actionable are always - by policy - acted on. With having such limited resources in the staffing department; having more eyes on the stuff and having people report things to us, actually does genuinely help.
  4. Ah, yes! You are actually correct about this. I was fixated on Section 12: Member Conduct: "Do not multi-post (the act of posting one after the other in a topic, for example; posting in a topic when you were the last to reply) within the main discussion forums." And I was focused on "Posts" or rather "Comments" that say "BUMP" and misinterpreted what you were saying. My bad. But no; you're absolutely correct Section 17 - Paragraph 2 (Private Roleplays): So as for "Bumping" their own Private Roleplay Bulletin (So just that one bulletin): There are no rules against this... Although arguably, their probably should be. When I've seen these "BUMP" posts they're usually spaced out days if not weeks after each other. However spamming multiple private roleplay bulletins... Yeah-no. There are rules against that. But then what is "Quick Succession" to some people they might consider seconds. Some people might consider minutes. Hours. Days... We should probably look at making that more clear (We mean within an hour, which covers minutes and seconds too). I would suggest that if you see bulletin's popping up in a quick succession "As in multiple in the same thing in the space of an hour" please 'Report' these, and we'll sort that out, and advise the Dreamer in question that this is not acceptable under those Terms of Service. @Neptune is the person who focuses on this section of the site the most as I do more of the programming/backend stuff. So I'm going to tag her into this, and read over it. There is a chance I am misinterpreting things again, and she can obviously propose any changes needed to be made to the Terms of Service that can be voted on by the entire staff, before we can change anything. Thank you for bringing this to our attention though. If people are spamming multiple bulletins like this, this needs to be stopped.
  5. Custom tags would be extremely tricky, yes, for a myriad of reasons. Making a search that searches for it, might actually be the easier part. But making it properly functional... I'm not sure about that. Ideas are good. I especially want feed back from people who have to use this system daily, so we can work out how to make it better. If not under IPS then under the bespoke solution.
  6. I can confirm with absolute certainty that for the bespoke software we're working on it will be much better in this regard. I would have to agree that the current implementation on this site isn't perfect. We knew this back in 2015 when we introduced it, and it's way more obvious now than it was back then. I can only agree with this sentiment.
  7. I sincerely apologise once again for the late response. Every topic within the Roleplayer Preferences and Private Roleplays area. Thing is you should only have one Roleplayer Preferences sheet, which you can link to your profile for ease-of-access. The Private Roleplayers thing is something you can link to in your About Me page for example. I'm also not sure what you mean by "Terms of Service violating" As far as I am aware there is no Terms of Service violation going on here what-so-ever as the sections aren't covered under the "double posting" rule, which I believe applies only to the forums. Bespoke - meaning completely custom. I am working with another roleplaying community in making a piece of web-software that is actually designed to do what we're trying to do here. Currently we use IPS (Invision Power Suite) which is fantastic community driven software, but we need to heavily customise it to suit our purposes. Up until around 2018-2019, this served us well. But we're starting to run into severe limitations that are imposed by the core of this software and we can't customise it any further to allow for the functionality that our Dreamers both need and deserve. The software is currently in active development right now and is in the Alpha stage. We have a roadmap of sorts and are currently working on the features. Thank you for understanding, however you shouldn't need to wait several months for answers to simple questions. That is a failure on my part, and I can only apologise; again, for this error.
  8. This is something I'd really love to implement! In theory it should already be doable with minimal effort as the preferences suite has a built in filter already. Unfortunately it doesn't filter by these things at the moment and when I last looked into it; it took filters too literally, if I remember correctly. So what I mean is; for example. If you were to use the filter for things like "Group Sex", "Pregnancy" it would only pull up records where people have only selected "Group Sex" and "Pregnancy", if someone had "Group Sex", "Pregnancy", "Anal", "Drugs" it wouldn't show those. However since the implementation in 2015; there might have been core changes in IPS that makes the search less literal. So I absolutely will look into it. If, however, it's not possible. It is certainly something that will be possible in the bespoke software that is currently in development to replace Invision Power Suite (IPS) as the main software behind EcchiDreams. What I mean is; we're making a custom website, coded completely from scratch. Right now we use IPS and it's well designed software however we heavily customise it for our needs and we're starting to hit the ceiling of what is and isn't doable under the current software, which is why we're custom making our own. It's currently in Alpha, but it's not really anywhere near ready for primetime use and has a lot less features than EcchiDreams right now. But it is in active development.
  9. Thank you for applying your voice for this suggestion. It's one I'd love to implement. Unfortunately it isn't possible due to software limitations; and I know it sucks harder than a Dyson Vacuum Cleaner. I absolutely agree with that fact, 100%. I have told Invision about this multiple times because it makes absolute no sense that ignored content appears in the activity feed. I think you might be able to customise the feed to remove content from specific users; but I'm not sure if that is still a thing or if IPS decided to do away wit that as well. I'm still working on a bespoke solution that will one day, hopefully completely replace the software that EcchiDreams runs on, and this is at the forefront of our minds when it comes to user blocking, we'll be baking that into the code from the offset, once the feature becomes available. If I do find a way of doing it for IPS; I will implement it immediately and update this topic. Currently this software is in Alpha Stage testing, and is a long way off until completion; but it is in active development.
  10. Topic closed by OP's request.
  11. And if you had read the Terms of Service (Section 9 and Section 21), taken heed of the multiple warnings on the registration page and the notice when you deactivated your original account... You would have known that this was a really, really bad move. You should have reactivated your old account, and you still can. However... Topic locked and your duplicate account is now banned.
  12. I have taken a look into this, however realistically outside of manual moderation there's nothing automatic that I can do about this. The reason being is that IPS is rather limited in it's scope and we're not exactly using the feature in the way it was designed for. Something I hope to fix with our bespoke application. That said I can mitigate this; make it worthless to "Bump" the topic. Have the topics displayed in record creation order rather than update with new comments, thus posting "Bump" will do nothing. Sorry for the late response too.
  13. Gourmet with Soda; any day of the week. Gas Gas Gas or Deja Vu?
  14. I know, right? And sleep... Just woke up. Need coffee.
  15. Alright. You've both made some convincing points. I will certainly think about it, but I'm not going to make any promises. I will discuss it with @Neptune who usually deals with these sections as well.
  16. Hmm. For some reason it seems to have vanished off of the menu, for now you can use: https://ecchidreams.com/settings/pokes/ to disable/enable it.
  17. There should be a poke button on people's profile. You can also do it through your poke's dashboard: https://ecchidreams.com/pokes where you can respond to people who've already poked you, or set off new pokes by pressing/tapping on the "Poke Member" button (Although that should read "Poke Dreamer"). If your poke system is disabled, you will need to re-enable it via the account settings. For more information please check out the guide:
  18. It will show as unavailable if you don't have enough to pay for it, otherwise it'll be available. This is proven by those that have used it and are now Gold or Platinum Dreamers. As for will there be more than "Gold" and "Platinum"? The answer is a firm: No, we have no plans on introducing new tiers at this time. If our new platform has it or not, is - at this time unknown and too early to say.
  19. I'm not sure about this. This seems to me like it is something that you can add into the more details area. As the presigned menus in there are for the actual roleplaying itself. Otherwise we'll be getting to the point where we're going to start breaking down everything like this, like Adult Baby: Do you like to be the mummy, daddy or the baby -- for example. I will have a think about going into more details for the new platform/framework we're working on. But generally speaking right now; you can easily use the description area to write in more details about your preferences. Thank you for the suggestion. Take care and kind regards.
  20. This isn't currently possible under the current IPS Framework, but I will add it as a suggestion for the framework that we're developing. Also, apologies for the very late response.
  21. Section 69, Paragraph 420 of the Terms of Service.
  22. Thank you, everyone who took part in this. I'd say the community's wishes on this subject matter is clear as the difference between night and day. As I stated here: There won't be any policy changes today, or in the foreseeable future, but I will be keeping this in mind, going forwards.
  23. As answered in this question: I hope that helps.
  24. Hey; thanks @Buio for answering those questions. Obviously I knew the answer to the first question; and whilst it wasn't an "GOTCHA!" Your answer to the question I was going to hypothetically ask next was pretty much what I was looking for, to understand your point of view. If I agree with it or not, is irrelevant for this topic. As for the second question; I'm not sure if I can agree or disagree with it, as it seems more like a personal perception to me. When I picture it in my head and perhaps it's naive, but I'm thinking for example for the video game: Phasmophobia. A conversation that revolves around talking about the ghost, the best methods of collecting evidence about that ghost and the game mechanics, isn't something that is political - to me. Granted there is lots of room where people can agree and disagree, for sure. But again this wouldn't be politics to me, and is not what I'm referring to. But then this goes back to a previous point that was essentially "Define: Politics" because everyone is probably going to have a radically different definition. So from what perspective; I can at least understand where you're coming from. Sidenote: I'm half way through the linked video, and I'm sorry to say but the methods that are described can be said exactly the same for the far-left, and perhaps other radical groups - like cults. Same tactics, just with different themes and subject matter, and I certainly wouldn't agree that some of it is as binary as the guy describes. Am I saying that in my opinion he's completely wrong? Absolutely not. I am not a political commentator or analyst, nor did I study political theory, I am a layman, a guy who sees it from the "Normie" perspective, perhaps. But this is perhaps veering a little off topic. But thanks for sharing your view points. The more information there is that is helpful for all sides of the argument, the better it is for what I hope for and that's for other people can see it and help them make up their own informed decisions.
  25. I want to clarify a misconception that has probably come about due to my own poor wording. There is no option on the poll that says "Completely and outright ban all political discussion on EcchiDreams, full stop, period." It's just to keep it out of the public sphere, and take it to your EcchiText boxes, or private conversations. So the option is basically saying; "Look. There are plenty of places where you can do your political activism (Be that; whatever you political views are). There are plenty of places to post your political memes. This site isn't it. This site is primarily for roleplaying, and a community of roleplayers who want to discuss roleplay things and what the community offers, such as common interests. If you want to talk about real-world politics, or meme about real world politics, there are plenty of other websites out there that let you do that. If you want to talk about those things with other Dreamers, then for the love of everything sane, do it in EcchiTexts. We're tired of seeing the inevitable drama in public." I should also add that this isn't a referendum, where we will take the votes that people vote for and do that thing. We absolutely might not. It's an attempt to shine a light onto this issue, to start a conversation about it and let everyone to see what people think. We may not change the policy at all for reasons that have been put out already. I really wish more people were like this. This was my hope, that people would be mature and adult enough to either pass at it or start a genuinely civil conversation. I figured if you treat adults, like adults, they will behave like adults. Clearly; I was seriously naive. I will say this; from an Admin point of view. The ignore system is frankly ridiculous because it is not consistently applied. Take the activity feed for example - all posts wherever you're ignoring the person or not, will appear warts and all. We can't do anything about this, because this seems to be a limitation of Invision Power Suite, the software that this community runs on. Since 2018, I have been asking IPS to fix this and address the issue, but to no-avail. Come 2021, I've given up asking. The decision wouldn't come because we want to control political discussion one way or another, and I think this viewpoint is absolutely uncharitable. If I am interpreting what you're saying correctly, of course. After speaking to many people on this site, the overwhelming majority of them are sick and tired of having politics from one group or another rammed down their throats. Where if you don't agree with one side on one seemingly inconsequential issue you're 100% one side or another, or you're an absolutely "Immoral person" that should be shamed publicly - and often disruptively, which is why a lot of people have the viewpoint that they do. You are right, if I am thinking this correctly, in the thought of: Define what is political? Because honestly, I don't know and I doubt you do as well. Not everything is political, but a lot of it is by varying shades of gray -- in my opinion. But the thing is, sometimes jokes are just jokes. You can't possibly know the true intentions of posting those jokes. Sometimes, to some people, the extreme absurdity of that joke is what makes it funny. Sometimes the disconnect between reality and the joke is what makes it funny. Sometimes the truthfulness in a joke is what makes it funny. Sometimes the irony in the joke is what makes it funny. Sometimes taking something detestable and turning it into a joke, is not a joke at "Hurr. Hurr. Hurr. Racism is funny!" It's to mock racists and racism itself. It's all so very subjective. What you find funny, what I find funny, what any random given person finds funny is going to be different. Hell, even if two people find something funny, it could be funny to them in very different ways, and likewise what things people don't find funny could be unfunny in different ways. Sure; you and I might not like some of these jokes and could correctly attribute any one of those labels to them, but at the end of the day, they're just jokes. That's not even getting into a joke that is funny to you today, might not be funny to you next week under different context, and that's not even getting into personal "In Jokes" amongst friends. This is not a total disagreement with your statement however; you're right in that some times these jokes aren't jokes, but it's a way of dismissing or even tapering criticism whilst attempting to look reasonable, it also can be used to test the waters - as it were - and put out a completely detestable idea under the guise of a 'Joke' or as a way of 'Triggering the X' as it were or even plays on people who try to not see the bad in everyone and everything that they do - exploiting their good nature. But a lot of people across the political spectrum practice this - not just the "Alt-Right" at least from my perspective. For example from the video you posted: "This is Gabe. He likes Video Games, Sci-Fi, Comic Books, Starwars and Anime. White Guy Shit." I assume that this is "Just a Joke®" But it could be seen by some as a racist statement passed off as a joke, or a racist joke that isn't serious, of course. Constantly jumping to "Things that I don't like aren't jokes, even if the person that posted them says that they are." Just goes to prove the mentality of what people (Including me) are saying. If you're not 100% one way, you're the other. The Universe isn't perfect, and humans are far from it too. Yes, even me. But an interesting question; what stops someone from creating an "Alt-Right" in the form of a roleplay? Would that "benefit the most depraved and disgusting", " reactionary shitheels like the qanon group, neo nazis, red pillers, and the like can always make racist, transphobic, anti-semetic, and whatever other offensive comments or memes, and then just call it," Roleplaying "when you call them out on their bullshit"? I mean what stops someone from creating any form of roleplay with politics, I guess? Or, I guess, a political club? I have a couple questions - and they're not "GOTCHA!" questions; but genuine questions. Please correct me if I am wrong; but EcchiDreams isn't the only site you go on, is it? How would it be an echo chamber when all we want to do is roleplay, or maybe talk about video games, sex, post creative writings and art, surrounded by the theme of Anime, Hentai, Manga? People don't want to see overtly political stuff from any side of spectrum. This isn't aimed at anyone, hence the dividing line. What I'm getting sick and tired with, is that those who say: "If you don't remove X, this proves that you're Y and Z." Like somehow the content of what people post on here is 100% fully endorsed by the staff, when it can't possibly be, or 100% fully endorsed by the entire community as a whole, which is just stupid. Some people want Section 15 to only apply to their ideas, or only apply to them, and everyone else doesn't have that same right. The idea of Section 15 was simple; I suppose it's also the freedom to criticise foolish ideas too. This never came out of malice, it didn't come from a bad place, and was never intended (and has never been used) to silence one side over another. But for example if someone started advocating "Death to X", "Kill all Y" and "We should exterminate Z." or "I will find where you live and I will X you." and so on, then this is seen as "Violating their Universal Rights" and is also illegal. We remove these, as rare as they are - memes or not. It doesn't matter what group of people you're advocating it towards, it's not allowed under paragraph 1 of the same section. But at the same time just because we don't remove something that someone deems as "Racist" doesn't mean we are in fact racists giving them cover. We put it to the Terms of Service, and if it doesn't violate it, then it stays and we let people say - if they want - that these ideas are abhorrent. Censorship only drives bad ideas underground, by allowing these bad ideas to come to surface, they can face the sunlight of public scrutiny where the ideas can be disinfected. Personally: I am fed up of people want me of all people to take sides in the culture war. I have my own political opinions, everyone does. Why am I not entitled to them? Why can't we live and let live? Sure if someone is saying something you disagree with it, then fine, but to hound that person into accepting your ideology completely is no different to me than the crusades of old, where you had to conform to religions. This is what Politics is looking more and more like to me nowadays. Religion that has been replaced, mostly by vapid and meaningless identity politics - on the far left and the far right - that is praised just as a zealously, that leaves us feeling more empty, and more disconnected from each other, with no room for even empathy to bridge those gaps. The last year or so has made me see that more than ever before. Again, I'm not perfect myself. I don't claim to be.
