Tom was definitely enjoying his time in this place. The beer was ice cold, and went down like silvery liquid, hitting all the right places as it went down, cooling him off. "Well, then, this is for you." Tom grabbed his wallet and withdrew the price and tip for another Fat Tire ale like the one he'd had, and handed it to the server. Once the man had left, Tom stood from his seat and took his fresh, chilled mug in hand before walking over in the direction of the girl in green. It was finally done! Six months of hard work, learning new things, and making sure every damned detail was accurate, and it was finally, finally done! The thing was, even though it was hard, it was still fun. Tom Holt had spent the last six months developing an 8x8 foot diorama, detailing the first battle in Africa of General George Patton and the forces he commanded. It had entailed a lot of study over thousands and thousands of documents, some of which were degraded, the sculpting of the terrain, and the learning of a few new skills, not the least of which was 3D printing. Still, he got it done. The diorama, now complete, sat under a clear acrylic box which protected it from unkind hands, and ten pedestal markers stood around the diorama, explaining the various stages of the battle. The nicest part? Tom had come in on schedule, which had guaranteed him a bonus from his benefactors in the Historical Preservation Society. It was time to celebrate. Normally, Tom spent his free time at home, where some quiet books, jazz music, and cold beer waited. However, this was a rather momentous occasion, and Tom decided to live a little. He'd heard about a new club in town, and after deciding to give it a try, he went home to shed his work attire and put on jeans and a simple gray t-shirt. After all, he wasn't meeting anyone there, just dropping in for a cold one or two. When he arrived, he found the place to be quite pleasant, welcoming. Tom was no judge of bars or clubs, but this place was very, very nice, and Tom felt the tension of six months' hard work start to melt off him immediately. Tom stepped to the bar and, in his usual courteous way, asked for a Fat Tire ale, which the place had on tap. Tom took the chilled mug after paying, tipped the bartender well, and found a table to sit and enjoy his beer, taking the time to rub his temples free of ache as he smiled and considered his accomplishment.
