  1. In general I do think that the way ED does preferences is not overdone, which is great. It would be easy for the preference options to be bogged down with every little detail of the most obscure kinks and make everyone's preference a chore to read, which I absolutely have seen elsewhere. Rest assured I would never ask for that. However there's a good reason I single out the sub/dom kink -- it's about as far from niche as you can get. It can apply to practically any roleplay and it's something almost everyone has a (often strong) preference about. Also I'd wager those who enjoy including sub/dom dynamics in any given roleplay outnumber those who don't. Yes, it can be mentioned in the More Details area, as all things can be, but in many cases people don't mention it there and then when you go to talk to them it turns out they have an unyielding preference one way or the other. Once you've unwittingly approached enough incompatible roleplayers this way it begins to feel like the preference sheets aren't fulfilling their purpose as effectively as they could be.
  2. Here's something I run into a lot. Let's say I'm looking to be on the recieveing end of femdom, as I often am. I look at the preference sheet of a bisexual roleplayer and...alright, they have "female domination" marked yes! BUT that only tells me part of what I need to know. Now I need to ask them if they marked that because they like to be the one doing the dominating or if they just like to be submissive to other girls. A lot of people don't think to clarify in their preferences whether they like to play sub or dom. It leads to me having to ask people something I think is pretty basic info that should have been on their page to begin with. I propose a new dropdown menu in the preference sheet, labeled "Sub/Dom Preference", with the following options: Unspecified Submissive only Submissive lean Switch Dominant lean Dominant only Of course, Unspecified is a valid option for those who prefer not to include sub/dom dynamics in their roleplays. There's a lot I'd like to see done with preferences, but this is probably the most glaring omission in my eyes. It would tell me at a glance whether I should bother getting in touch with someone or not.
  3. As long as this part always remains the same, I don't see any practical downside to removing political talk from the public eye.
  4. My personal feeling is that I'd rather not see any political activism or arguments around here, no matter what side it comes from. And I simply cannot relate to whatever thought process would drive a person to actively try to bring politics to a place like EcchiDreams. However, I don't think it's good to ban something simply because it makes me uncomfortable to see it. There's all kinds of roleplays and kinks that are out in the open here that a lot of people don't wish to see, but I believe they should just learn to keep on scrolling and not pay it any mind. Basically, I don't want to see us go down a slippery slope where, for example, you can no longer do a rape-themed RP in public here because it might make someone uncomfortable. HOWEVER...in the uh...current political climate, things get heated fast and you can't count on people to behave themselves. And I don't think it's fair to ask the staff to facilitate and moderate volatile political discussion when it's so far removed from the purpose of the site. That's time and energy better spent on making this place the best erotic roleplaying site it can be. So...yeah, my thoughts aren't really conclusive, but there they are. I skimmed over most of the replies, so apologies if I'm repeating points that were already made.
  5. She's so good at both worldbuilding and character writing! In particular, her characters strike me as...entities distinct from herself who reside in her imagination. I could almost believe that they actually do exist. It feels like not even she knows for certain how they'll respond to any given situation until she's actually putting pen to paper. I don't know if that's true or if it's a convincing illusion, but it very much gives her roleplaying an unscripted feeling that I appreciate. She's the type who likes to chat OoC alongside the RP. She's super approachable and fun to toss around ideas with or just remark about the RP or other topics. You might be surprised by her range as a roleplayer, as well. With open lines of communication, there's never confusion about what either party wants, making roleplay with Floof a downright comfy experience.

  6. Alright. So, like you say, it pretty much depends on if there's interest in what I'm offering. I'll keep thinking about it...
  7. I'm tentatively joining to say that I...might be interested in this? But I don't know if my approach to this club would be frowned upon, or if it would garner much interest from anyone. I've never really been one for character creation. Sometimes I create concepts of characters that I want my partners to use, but I generally just play self-insert characters myself, in most cases. I was thinking of doing that here, and kind of playing with the fact that I'm always looking for femdom partners lately. But maybe it's too self-indulgent of me to use this club to scout for my own RP partners. The basic idea is I would feel lost in the backrooms, and I would seek my own comfort in dominant partners. A sense of belonging (to someone). I'd be open to any women, futas or traps who would have me. For example, I would probably be delighted and relieved to come across @DreamsnThings's thuggish girl and make fast "friends" with someone like that. But, again, this is essentially what I already do on this site. Plus I don't feel like there are that many doms interested in male subs around that I haven't already met. Although I would be perfectly accepting anyone who just wanted to experiment. My gut tells me I might be thinking too self-indulgently about this. I won't be offended whatsoever if I'm not a good fit for the club, so please tell me your honest opinion.
  8. Despite a language barrier, she describes beautifully and treats her roleplays with great care. She's approachable and easy to work with, full of ideas, open to experiment and not afraid to take a very active role in steering a roleplay in new and interesting directions. Amazing at creating a believable character. You'll be in good hands with Tsuki. I would roleplay with her all the time if only she shared more of my kinks, but she'll absolutely be one of my first choices to play with if I'm looking for something that overlaps with her preferences.

  9. I too followed the path from G+ to Mewe, but there was some stuff before that. I did in my early teens experiment with non-lewd forum RP, but it didn't hold my interest at all. Then on my 18th birthday (yes I waited like a good boy), I downloaded Second Life and visited an adult area for some cheap thrills. This was just one-liner stuff like "*fucks harder*, *moans*". Technically this was my first sexual interaction with another human being. SL kinda sucks so I did not revisit it very much. A website hosting adult flash games put up a game where you create an avatar to play strip blackjack with real people. Quickly the lobby for this game turned into RP ads, and you could join a person's table to roleplay with them while ignoring the card game. I had some fun here and sharpened my skills a bit, but it was still not ideal. Then I discovered that Google+ had a huge ERP scene. The name I use here is the pseudonym I created on the spot to make an RP account there. This is where I really came into my own and developed my own style, and I really enjoyed the format too. The only bad thing was trying to dodge the moderation, and sometimes seeing your friends get the banhammer. After I had already been on G+ for some time, I found this place! I played here alongside G+ for a while. Eventually G+ died and I migrated to Mewe. Mewe seemed like it would be good, and for a while it was, but there were a lot more rude people it seemed like, and a lot more social media drama bullshit. Got ghosted by lots of people, and once the site started gaining popularity they too started banning lewd accounts. For a very short time I experimented with discord ERP servers. I don't think I understand the culture there, they're super hung up on strict rules and I had people getting mad when I didn't reply literally within 15 minutes. No thanks. Eventually I fully committed to making this my RP home. Very very happy here, of course!
  10. I'm not even an Utada fan, but Automatic is so good! Great head-bobbing beat and addictive chord progression. I can't peel myself away from it lately.
  11. Wow. Well, I respect you even more for overcoming it and turning out so well.
  12. Yeah, that's understandable. Sorry you had to deal with that. Anywhere besides this thread - I saw the mess you guys made in here the first time!
  13. Yes, one chocolate and vanilla twist for me please, thank you!
  14. *Slowly starts to raise hand, sees no one else raising hand, moves to casually scratch back of neck instead* Okay maybe not that often, but still!
  15. Hey I'm not any kind of authority or whatever, but I was enjoying the thread more when the subject was a bit more light...
