  1. Lookmee was in the middle of her youth class when Sonia walked in looking stunning. She watched the newcomer make her way to the treadmill and begin her workout. Lookmee smiled at herself, shook her head and returned her focus to the kids in the beginning Muay Thai class she was teaching. Over the rest of the class Lookmee stole quick glanced at the other woman just to enjoy her beauty and keep track of where she was. When her class finished the young Nak Muay Ying congratulated her students and saw them off with generous praise and encouragement. She set off towards the new girl as she waved to a parent. When she reached the stationary bike she paused. Unexpectedly, this felt hard and awkward. She should offer to help her with her training, but Lookmee knew she was here for more personal reasons. "Uh, hi," she said, her voice feeling like it cracked, "I don't know if you remember me from yesterday - I was training in the ring over there." She turned and pointed at the ring, suddenly aware of how hot her cheeks felt. Lookmee stared at the ring for a moment. That was so much easier... Realizing she was just standing there, staring away from Soni,a Lookmee's cheeks heated more and she turned her attention back to the young woman with a short, awkward chuckle. "Uh, anyway I'm one of the instructors here." She tapped the bike, "give this another two minutes to make sure you're warmed up, and we'll get started, okay.?" Lookmee set a timer on her watch, "Let's start with the easy stuff, what are you hoping to get out of training here?" 'Please say a kind of masc girlfriend.'
  2. Then don't play. It's how the game works. The whole point is there's no fighting Kiyo. It's almost impossible for her to lose a fight. If she chooses violence, there's almost nothing anyone can do about it. We all know that. Seeing Kiyo kill shit is going to be about as surprising as things falling when you drop them. Kiyo trying NOT to choose violence is far more interesting. Every playbook has things they're not great at - Violetta is cool and hot, problem is, Go Aggro leaves people the option of fighting her. She has -1 hard. People standing hard against her is interesting, but she's actually not great at it. While we're here, Violetta, highlight hard. Being a lightning rod sometimes hurts. Here's a funny thing - by highlighting hard, Violetta is incentivised to Go Aggro, which she's good at. By picking fights, even if she loses, she marks xp. You get the xp for rolling, not succeeding. Once Violetta starts a fight, that, maybe doesn't go her way, there's shit for the rest of you to do. Maybe Kiyo shows her what a killer looks like (and fuck me if that's not some Monty Python and the Holy Grail shit. You go murder bunny!) Say I highlight hot for Kiyo and she leans into being a bunny and goes sex crazy and tries to seduce Bram (who doesn't love beefcake for breakfast?) and she misses... More fun. If she hits, how fucking cool is that? The point of the story is to be cool and interesting, not easy. By choosing to say, "My vision supercedes the game." you're really saying, "I don't care if the rest of you have fun." Look, I'm sorry if someone called you weird and it's uncomfortable for you, but that, as I tell my kids, is an iss-you. Try to think of ithe roll as supernatural in the game if that makes it easier, but the game's not wrong. It might just be the wrong game for you.
  3. I think we're close. I may have a chance to get an initial post up tomorrow.
  4. Whip out my big ol' dice tower, "You know what time it is, ladies!"
  5. Fuck because marriage is a sure way to ruin a good thing and everyone gets mad when I kill people.
  6. It less GM dickishness than The Brainer is a thing and The Show is a thing. Your relationships are between those high order identities the components of those identities are distinct. You can ACT as a body guard, but you're not part of that gang. You can play, but you're not one of hers. You can drive her vehicle, but it remains hers. Does that clarify at all?
  7. No. Leon is The Brainer and holds Jasmine's leash. You are separate from any of her crew. You do have to pay for them though... You can drive, and even make vehicle battle moves, but you are NOT The Driver
  8. Your weapon(s) are exactly what the playbook says, look at the other playbooks except the Battlebabe and pick one, but your gutax is plenty cool enough that we can make that happen. Take the faceless' axe (3 harm, close, messy) and add (loud) if you use it in combat and miss, it's out of tune and your next gig roll is at -2, but, fuck, you look HOT (or is that butt fuck, you look hot?) You pick three items from this list: You have a vehicle (you detail). You have a gigantic armored war-vehicle (you detail). You can strip your rig down to a version that you can carry as a backpack (valuable hitech). When you play, your instrument shoots fire (2-harm messy loud). When you play, your instrument drips blood. When you play, water freezes, and your skin and instrument frost over. When you play, you fill the air from horizon to horizon, and people miles away feel the earth rumble. When you play, the ancient death satellites that still orbit the earth stir in their sleep. When you play, it gives people sensitive to the world’s psychic maelstrom nosebleeds. You have a small but well-rewarded security force: Ba, Rothschild, Jeanette, and a couple others (small gang 3-harm 1-armor). You have musicians who play with you. Circle some or all of: Dustwich, Harridan, Jesus Christ, Lits, Rolfball, Ambeke, Si, x-many faceless backups. When you play, fucking dead souls stop their groaning to listen. You have a wide assortment of instruments and can play them all. There’s basically always some number of people around who want eagerly to have sex with you. Whenever you feel like it, ask the MC who they are this time. A vehicle is just that, a way to move from gig to gig. A war rig will be a big ass truck that, I assume, you drive. It's probably armored and has a dozer blade, maybe spear launchers or guns too. Up to you. The security detail are your goons who keep you safe. They're NPCs and will want things - food, sex, barter shelter and they can be a problem if they don't get it. Musicians would be similar, but they're less likely to start trouble if they don't get what they want. Musicians and dancers may fuck off and start their own gigs though. That could be a different kind of bad.
  9. In the violent world of the apocalypse there are killers. A lot of them. The ones who aren't are the rarities. If who ever answers that question says they have always been there, that's true. Again, you don't have to like each other. You just know them. Maybe it is Violetta or Kiyo - both of whom move with violence - honestly, Kiyo more so that Violetta most likely - but that means you know that when they're around there's likely to be someone who needs you. Perhaps Jasmine has always lived in the settlement with you and you two came up together, you always wondering who she'd sell her soul to. Maybe now you know. You don't have to think she sold her soul - it's a possibility. The point is your past with the other characters is free to be defined an Hx is familiarity not closeness.
  10. Say, "Oh, hey Izzy - is it game night already? Me and @WickedCadrach were just playing a different game... You can play too if you want."
  11. You can answer as many in a row as you like - I just wanted to cycle asking questions to someone new to give everyone a chance to be involved. I have not gotten your answers yet - busy day of house cleaning and meal prep. I forgot to be wealthy enough to have a staff.
  12. Violetta was sent to murder the crew that attacked Kiyo and tried to steal the shipment Kiyo, Rubble and their crew were protecting. Who sent Violetta to kill them, and who did they want to know that Violetta made them suffer?
  13. Violetta, how many fuckers were left for you to chop down after they took out Kiyo's crew? Kiyo and her girl Rubble were both fair badass, they must have put up some kind of a fight with the rest of their crew. Kiyo, can you tell us about Rubble? Leon, what was in that shipment and how did you find out? Jasmine, who was the message that Violetta delivered for? Who sent it? Seraphina, someone survived Violetta's punishment. Who? Are they still alive or did they slither off to die in the arms of a lover? If they're alive, did you help them or is there some other powerful healer out there? If they died, how? Who knows their tale?
  14. My bad. I'll check that and get you your answers.
  15. So, Violetta, Kiyo and her crew got murked while on a sketchy escort job. How do you fit in all this? Were you part of the crew that smoked them? Lucky opportunist who happened upon the carnage and scored some jingle-jangle off the cargo and corpses? Something else entirely? Someone not named Kiyo or Violetta where was that cargo coming from, where was it going and what was it, really (unless Violetta knows)?
  16. Seraphina, sure answer if you want. Leon, just to be clear, I don't have any problem with you building a harem, but that's NOT my focus as the MC.
  17. Well, let's find out, shall we, Violetta? Kiyo, what was the situation when Violetta left you bleeding? How did you come to be bleeding?
  18. That's how the game works. Those are the conversations that define it. I will ask you for a lot of information about the world - it tells me, and everyone else - what's important to you, what cool visions you have. "Fight shoulder to shoulder" could mean a lot of things. Maybe there was a shoot out and everyone except you ran away, leaving Kiyo alone, outnumbered and bleeding and you patched her up enough that she got away alive. Maybe that fight is what you're an angel now. It's not a game where we need a DPS, a buffer, a shield and a healer. The fiction drives the game. Almost all of what we know about the world has come from the players.
  19. Hx doesn't measure how much people like each other, it measures how well they KNOW each other. You can hate someone and know everything about them. You can love someone and know almost nothing about them .
  20. Patch or Patches Stitch Soothe Mercy Anubis Blood Sponge Bones
  21. Each question gets asked and answered once - Violetta just asks the same question multiple times.
