Unpopular Opinion 1: To live in the world we want according to our own desires, everything else falls by the wayside including the world. Unpopular Opinion 2: Truth is not what we want, it's what we wish we already had Unpopular Opinion 3: It's only objective when it's something I want and believe it. Unpopular Opinion 4: The majority of the population of the place I live is only as useful as it is a vehicle to produce the results I want in it. Otherwise, they're just useful idiots...even if I rely on them to make my own claims.

Audio Gear Recommendations!
Manni replied to Manni's topic in EcchiDreams' Music and Audio Club's Topics
Here are some places I recommend for those wanting to get some advice on what headphones to purchase and what supporting gear. Headi-Fi: Yes, Head-Fi. Despite ALL the people that shill, mad fans, trolls and assholes, this site still has quite a few good people in it to get advice from! If you need help navigating the site's potholes, I can be of assistance. Reddit's Headphone Reddit: Surprisingly, they are quite good unlike 4chan's headphone related forums. InnerFidelity: Rtings: -

Music: The Stuff We Listen To!
Manni replied to Manni's topic in EcchiDreams' Music and Audio Club's Topics
I've noticed that I like I lot of Game OSTs, instrumentals and music with strong vocals. Also don't mind J-Pop despite how brightly it's mastered and the lack of DR. -
Audio Gear: The stuff music comes out of!
Manni replied to Manni's topic in EcchiDreams' Music and Audio Club's Topics
Hey guys, now I've got my hands on an Australian made, designed and manufactured DAC called the Geiseler Groß DAC made by Clayton Geiseler of Southport Queensland! It's quite a DAC I have to say, plays ALL of the available audio formats including the fancy DSD and hi-res stuff. In the opinion of the person whose Groß DAC I'm borrowing, it certainly competes with the best DACs like PS Audio Direct Stream that is valued at ~$8200AUD. -

Welcome to MegaCity 2, the Best MegaCity in all of Altech! Here, people can find Freedom from the Tyranny and Lies of the Authority. For too long has the Authority hidden the Truth of What's Going On! We, the Dissidents, Intend to Free All from the Gross Injustices of the Authority And Reveal the True Rot that it represents! This Dissident-run MegaCity is one of the two remaining MegaCities on Altech that are enclosed in the Wall, an impenetrable barrier that was deployed upon the two MegaCities to both protect the cities from the larger World War and to cut them off from the Outside World. However, this had the effect of obviously cutting off the MegaCity 1 and 2 from the Outside World and from help. No supplies or assistance from the outside is available...largely. However, due to the immense technological abilities of Altech and the numerous amount of resources available in the lands within the Wall, it doesn't appear that natural resources will run out any time soon. In fact, most people do not think about the outside world anymore! Most people go about their normal lives in the city, not thinking about the outside world. In the middle of the City lies one of the tallest building in the City, Dissident HQ. Here, the Dissidents oversees the security and protection of the City from major threats including those from the Monsters (likely those Outsider remnants, Virals or worse) and from Authority activity. Given that Dissident HQ is in the middle of the City, it is of equal distance from most major places within the City as city planners have made it as to allow easy access for those with the Dissidents to get around easy. Nearby the Dissidents HQ, in an equally tall and imposing building, is the Consortium's MegaCity 1 Division Building which is pretty much the HQ of the Consortium in MegaCity 1. The Consortium is partnered with the Dissidents in making the defensive and offensive systems that protect MegaCity 2 from Outsider attacks. The Consortium is also responsible for the research and development into Game Images, both new and old. Though no communications from the outside world have been received from quite some time...not even from other Altech cities...not many seem to mind or care... Main Places in MegaCity 2: Dissidents HQ: Located in the middle of MegaCity 2...like in MegaCity 1 with the Authority HQ strangely enough. It's one of the tallest buildings in the MegaCity and is a sight to behold. Obviously, being a HQ, it is heavily defended and not very easy to gain access to given that the Dissidents operate here. Obviously, there are quick dispatch points, armouries and supply points throughout the city for those on patrol to use but this building is the central hub of government as well as defence. Consortium Building, MegaCity Two Branch: The MegaCity Two Branch of the mysterious Consortium, the supplier and developer of the GIs( Game Images) and the GAs (Game Armaments) that the GIs come with. They are the ones that develop the GIs and GA and keep the supporting apparatus up and running and to their credit, they do that especially well. Not many people actually go to the Consortium Building unless they are needed or work there. It is a bit odd but people get an rather eerie feeling getting close to the building, hence why not many people go there. Those that work there sign rather restrictive NDAs (Non Disclosure Agreements) upon employment which do prevent them from talking much about what goes on there. Though not like the rank and file employees know much... Rebels' Atrium: Kind of like a botanical garden and a large open public space for the masses to enjoy nature without going outside the MegaCity. It's a beautiful sight for sore eyes but really, does it match the outside? It's quite a nice place to chill and relax, though. It's got a nice vibe and hey, the monuments to some of the great heroes of the past are here! Great Market District: Where all the big shops and fancy restaurants are, where people spend their hard earned money on things they want to buy. Convenience Place: Where all the good convenience or chain stores are! Residential Districts: Where all the people live. Military Checkpoint (No Checkouts, Please): Set at the major Exit Points in the MegaCity, which control the flow of things in and out of the MegaCity. Obviously, since the Wall was up, not much comes INTO the City...except for the Outsiders. So, what's the use of the Checkpoints then?

Welcome to MegaCity One and Home City of the Authority, the Original and Best MegaCity on Altech! Here, loyal citizens get the benefit of comfortable and largely hassle free living, free from fear of death from the Outsiders and random raiders and such. Obey the Law and Report any Dissident Activity to your nearest Member of Authority Security as well as any Viral Activity. Remember, It is Also a Citizen's Duty To Help Stamp Out Virals and Threats to Order! This Authority-run MegaCity is one of the two remaining MegaCities on Altech that are enclosed in the Wall, an impenetrable barrier that was deployed upon the two MegaCities to both protect the cities from the larger World War and to cut them off from the Outside World. GAME IMAGES Below are examples of Game Images! Yes, I know they are from AN ACTUAL LINE OF TOYS! I JUST LIKE THE LOOK! In this RP, all playable characters by those participating in this RP will be given a mysterious update on their government issued arm computer by a method of their choice. This update, which mysteriously cannot be refused, blocked or delayed, will give all Players the ability to use the HERO OS. This program cannot be conventionally deleted once installed and can only be operated and accessed by the authorised user/s of the Arm Computer it is attached to. However, the HERO OS' installation and source of the original file has not be successfully traced back to anyone or any place. So no one knows who made it or where it came from. However, the program itself, it must be said, is not illegal and actually any individual who has it is is, for better or worse, is well sought after by the Authority or the Dissidents. A PC may indeed find gainful employment from either party or other interested parties or none at all! Your Playable Characters CAN CHOOSE which side, if any, to join! The main objective of this RP is to find out what is going on in Altech! Is everything as it seems on Altech or is something much more strange going on? What the HERO Program does is allows for the use of special USB thumb drives that look like miniaturised old school game cartridges called Game Images or GIs for short. What the GIs do is give the possessor of the HERO OS the power contained in the GI. In other words, you transform into a Superhero whose powers, load out and abilities come from the GI. The HERO OS allows the person to transform but the GIs are what are required to give form to it. The HERO OS, apart from allowing transformation, also has more functionality such as generating a GAME FIELD which is user selected. The GAME FIELD's use is to create a sealed battlefield where Playable Character and their opponents can fight safely without endangering others and property. HERO OS user have a selection of GAME FIELDS available to them, depending on what genre their GI is. The HERO OS also collects and provides data on all parties in the battlefield, if any is available. It also acts as a second HUD in case one needs more HUDs. Also, any GI scanned, inserted or spotted will be registered in the HERO OS log, though scanning and inserting GIs remain the best way to get info on them. The HERO OS also allows one to change load outs in and out of combat, allowing users to change equipped weapons on the fly via voice command. In combat, one obviously cannot shop or configure weapons but users may select between their saved configurations and summon them instantly in battle. Out of battle, one can do a lot more like modify, upgrade, change and purchase new load outs and tools and stuff. All HERO OS users get access to the SHOP, where they can upgrade, modify, change and purchase new weapons, mods, powers and abilities based on their current genre. Using the POINTS they gain from battles, actions they do during the RP and decisions they make, players can buy what they need to help themselves. Types of Game Images: Single Player - The standard, single slot Game Image that loads a single GI or load out. Co-Op - A non-standard GI that takes up two USB slots but loads only one game? It is said that it actually creates a perfect duplicate of the original user during battle. Multiplayer - A game that can only realistically be used with a party of allies due to certain issues. GIs of this type are rather powerful and come in the form factor of Single Player GIs. The GI itself duplicates if an appropriate party is found. MMO - Unknown type. Exceptionally rare to the extent that no one thinks it exists. Bootleg - Unofficial GI not recognised by anyone! People who possess these types...get into trouble. Viral - A type of GI found at the site of Outsider attacks. Often, no useful data is found on these types after the defeat of the one using Viral GIs. Duals - A type of GI that takes one slot but contains two GIs on it! Usually very powerful. Custom - A type of GI yet to exist. GENRES All Playable Characters who gain the HERO OS can pick ONE GENRE to be. This genre will affect their loadout, powers and abilities as they can only use Single Player or Co-op that are of the same genre! The only exception is the mysterious Bootleg GIs or Dual type GIs. With Bootleg GIs, they may have ANY Genre on it but only one person can ever use it! With Dual GIs, only the persons with compatible genres can use it but those people can use either of the GIs on it! In the case of Multiplayer, all genres can be Multiplayer but only one Multiplayer game per party can be used at a time. The result of using a Multiplayer game of course is that all players of a party are the same genre. RPG - Equipment has high determining factor in character's strength. Grows conventionally. Special Abilities take MP. Shooter - Guns! Guns! Guns! Fast ranged class that depends on user reflexes. Can buy additional weapons from SHOP. Special Abilities Need Killcount to use. Fighter - High melee attack and endurance. Melee class orientated. Special Abilities use Special Bar which increases with damage given and taken. Racer - Rather fast! Uses vehicles! Special Abilities Requires Hitting Special 'Boost' Points in Battle. Puzzle - Complicated Class that can use 'Battle Items' to full effect! Battle Items spawn randomly on the field during battle but have high chance of appearing when destructible objects are destroyed. Horror - Unknown. Action - An every man class. Special Abilities given for use and consumption of Battle Items. Stealth - Deals with surprise attack and ambushes. Simulation - Skill of the game given to player at start. The better they use it, the more power it gets. Dance- Keeping time with the rhythm and beat (and handy visual cues) which provide handy boons to the player. Special Abilities cost Points. Sports - Unconventional use of sports equipment here! Music - Similar to dance but using one's voice instead. CardDeck - Much like Yu-Gi-Oh and MTG, you use 'themed' decks' and booster packs bought from the SHOP to give your character powers. Strategy - Like RTS, you command units to fulfil objectives. Able to summon mooks to do bidding. Special Abilities [EXAMPLES] In this section of the RP, I will give some examples of Special Abilities that each Genre of game could have. If anyone else has suggestions as to what their class can have, it can be added here. Mind you, special abilities are not the same as FINISHING MOVES WHICH each class has only one way to activate. RPG: Guard: Basically, a Defend Command, that cuts incoming damage from all sources down but lowers your attack and speed. Protect: Basically, act as a human shield for someone else. With Guard Benefits of course. Shield Ram: A short burst of speed to close the distance with an enemy combined with a direct hit with your shield, inducing a stunning effect. Heavyweight: Increased defence and endurance but lower agility. On Guard: Protects against Critical Attacks. Shooter: Precision Aim - Increases Accuracy while using guns when moving. Bullet Time - Increases Reflexes to such an extent that time seems to slow down. Very Time Limited Ability. Increases Dodging and Accuracy dramatically Change Ammo Type: Instant Ability where you can change the kind of ammo used in your gun/s. ADS: Lowers Dodging Ability in dramatically increases accuracy and critical hit chance and damage. John Woo Style - Allows for the usage of either two primary guns, one secondary guns or a mix of one primary and one secondary gun. Situational Awareness: The ability to detect hidden units of equal or lower level. Fighter: Counter: The ability to automatically counter a melee attack with your own standard attack, regardless of whether that attack hits or not. The chance of Counter is higher when an attack hits and the chance of automatic Counter drops with each new attack that turn. Focus: The ability to focus one's inner energy, which not only increases stats but also increases your Special Attack Bar, which allows you to do more special attacks. Chain Combo: The ability to 'combo' multiple attacks together in an attack chain, in order to overwhelm enemy defences. Cross Counter: If fighting another Fighter, both have the ability to counter each other simultaneously BUT only the stronger Fighter (if any) does damage and takes none Martial Sense: The ability to detect hidden units of equal or lower level. Racer Gear Shift Up: Increases Maximum Allowed Speed as well as overall Acceleration while decreasing Present Speed temporarily Tire Change: Changes the 'Tires' of your Unit during Combat to a new set, while the old set is launched at the enemy doing damage in proportion to condition. Drift Attack: By Speeding into an enemy, you can do continually attack depending on what gear you were on before initiating. Burnout: A wide area attack that hits multiple enemies with range but dramatically lowers tire condition. Turbo Boost: Gives you a little more speed and performance when you need it. Lord of Speed: Attack power is linked to Speed! Puzzle It's All Mine: Automatically collects all generated Battle Items on the Game Field upon use. Pick Three: Of those collected, Puzzle is able to only pick any three of them and must discard the rest...though discarding them means no one gets them. Match 3: If you get three of the same kind of power up, you get a super bonus on top of the effect of the Battle Items! Item Crazy: Dramatically increases the amount of Battle Items generated on the Field during battle. Field Distribution: Able to use any of the 3 Battle Items obtained on anyone on the Field. Action Unique Battle Items: Basically, the Action Class get unique Battle Items that give them special abilities and powers during the battle they are gained in. Like different forms and such, like in Mario games with the suits. Item GET!: Increases the amount of Battle Item Generated on the Field during Battle. Item Inventory: The Ability to Store Battle Items for Later Use and For Later Battles! Party Distribution: Able to use Battle Items amongst the Party. Payday: Increases Party EXP and rewards. Pro Gamer Skill: The Better you Play, the More Powerful you Get! Stealth It's A Secret To Everyone: Hard to Detect when Hiding or being generally stealthy. Tactical Retreat: Can more easily flee and escape combat. Criticals for Days: Increases critical hit rate. Backstabber: Increased critical hit rate when enemy is ambushed, caught by surprised or...back stabbed. Lightweight: Increased agility but low defence and endurance. Simulation Skill Bonus: Depending on the simulation in question, your present ability at it gives you stat bonuses. Points Matter: The points you get during the game is used pay for stat boosts as well! Multiplier On: Increases the Amount of Points you Gain by a lot. Variable Difficulty: The ability to raise or lower the difficulty the game in most circumstances, which effects enemy and party strength! Dance/Music Keeping the Beat/Pitch Perfect: Assuming you can keep up with the in battle prompts with perfect timing, you gain not only contextual benefits but point bonuses. Encore: Assuming you do well enough when tested with the prompts, you gain an additional action or turn~! QTEs: When using this in Combat, Players will see prompts that will instruct them on what to do and gives them a Time Window, with which to do them. Acting Too Early or Late = Fail. Nonviolence: This type of game does not involve attacking but providing support to your fellow party. No direct attacks allow for players using this game. Life's A Party: All effects, good and bad, are party wide. General Rules to HERO OS Users 1. All Playable Characters, in battle, have a Life Gauge displayed on their Arm Computer. Having one's Life Gauge reduced to Zero in battle causes a GAME OVER, meaning your Playable Character Dies. 2. Once a Playable Character achieves a GAME OVER, no revival is possible. 3. While HERO OS, their GIs and their respective Arm Computers are usually bound to the person they are connected to, it is possible to give another person the right to use them. By usage of the SUCCESSION RITE of the HERO OS. 4. Only possessors of the HERO OS can perform the SUCCESSION RITE. 5. It is POSSIBLE for the HERO OS and Arm Computer to become useless via OS Corruption. Once the OS is corrupted, the Arm Computer becomes useless. 6. GIs cannot be corrupted or destroyed BUT they cannot be used without the HERO OS. 7. There is a method to delete the HERO OS but not many know what it is. 8. To Transform, insert GIs into the Arm Computer and employ a voice command that YOU MAY CHOOSE! 9: To Cancel Transformation, remove GIs from the Arm Computer and employ a Voice Command that YOU CAN CHOOSE! 10: Once Transformation is Cancelled, there is a cool down period where one cannot transform. 11: Once Playable Characters are not transformed, they cannot be killed by those Transformed. You may still beat the shit out of them if you choose. Also, monsters can still kill them! 12: Using a Multiplayer GI as a Single Player GI is inadvisable. There are health and safety issues involved as well as friendly fire. IMPORTANT NOTES To beat regular monsters is not too much of an issue but to defeat your boss monsters (those that summons minions) and other Players requires a bit more than your normal attacks and abilities can do. This is where the FINISHING MOVE or CRITICAL FINISH comes in! Finishing Moves are basically the ULTIMATE ATTACK of any class, used to FINISH OFF the enemy when they are in Weakened Status, their HP being rather low and their defences open. Finishing Moves are best used when enemies are in the Weakened State to ensure no dodging and that they do full damage as FINISHING MOVES cannot be blocked conventionally. It is also the case that using FINISHING MOVES on opponents maximises the payout in terms of after battle results and mission success payment. Yes, the flashy finishing moves do pay out. To initiate a FINISHING MOVE, one must remove the GI currently installed in the Arm Computer and put it in the FINISHER slot on either the Arm Computer or your weapon of choice.

This is the thread where you players out there can discuss the RPG! Remember, since this is a OOC area, your characters in the RP will not instantly know what is discussed in this area.

main thread Blackberry Falls
Manni replied to Neptune's topic in Blackberry Falls's Roleplaying Topics
When Silvina asked him to name his strengths and weaknesses for her, David froze. If there was one question he hated most of all, it was this question right there. All other questions seemed to pale in comparison to this one in difficulty. How the heck was he supposed to answer this?! He couldn't really name many strengths but he could easily name weaknesses. He doubted, though, that was what she was looking for. If he named too many weaknesses, he would not be hired for why would anyone want to hire someone who had too many weaknesses? But if he named too many strengths, he could easily be caught out or sound like a prick. Goodness know, he could hardly think of many good things to say about himself. He was going to have to think long and hard about this. But it did not look like he was going to have a lot of time on his hands to do so. This interview, he thought, was time limited and he was going to have to give a definite answer. He didn't think he could get away with a non-committal answer. He started to sweat as his heart raced, trying to think of something to say. "Well...umm...I don't think I'm very good...at answering questions like these." David said honestly, as he wracked his brains trying to think of a more suitable response. "And well....I don't like talking about myself much...that's a weakness isn't it? I guess I could be considered honest..."- 470 replies
