Somehow he always manage to have just the correct amount of scruffiness to be fashionable rather then slovenly. It also helps maintain, an air of mystery that comes with having a a job in "International Sales", and stories about traveling all over the globe. However, the truth is that once you get past that, he is a caring single dad doing his best to raise his daughter, working a rather mundane sales management job with the mixed blessing and curse of international travel. While he is protective of his daughter, his attitudes are what he would describe as "liberated", though others might describe as "libertine".

He enlisted in the military as soon as he could, and he was a maverick among the men he served with. He made it out of situations he had no business surviving. I guess luck has always been on his side. When he got out, he needed to find a place to live, and a job nearby. He got an offer for an office job in the city, and found this place, so it was a happy marriage between the two.
