Your character was running his usual errands at the market, shopping for a few groceries, maybe an ingredient or two for his work, when out of nowhere, a little girl tried to get his attention with that question. Unfortunately for her, throwing a fireball was not only dangerous, but more difficult than one could imagine. For some, it is even impossible since not everyone can just become a mage. But perhaps because he has a soft spot for cute little girls, perhaps out of boredom, he decides to indulge her.

So yeah. I'm looking for a mentor for my to be magician. Speaking of which:
Name: Liora (For those curious, it means "my light" I believe)
Age: Unknown, but pre-teen.
Background: Liora was given to an orphanage when she was an infant, and has lived there since then. But since those who don't work don't eat, Liora has tried hard to make herself useful. As a result, she learned how to read and write, and do basic math, making her popular as a helping hand among scholars and libraries. Other than that, she can clean and run errands.
What Liora isn't aware of however is that she was born with a talent for magic, and a lot of mana to fuel it. While some would consider it a blessing, it is unfortunately useless if one is not aware of it, or has no mentor to guide her through both the wonders, and possible dangers of magic.
Personality: For someone her age, Liora is surprisingly smart, and aware of it. So much so that she prefers to pretend to be naive and a bit of an airhead to avoid jealousy from her peers, and too much attention from adults. Not that she would regularly outsmart an adult, but having read a few books about one or the other subject already, turned her into a decent chess player, and a capable assistant. And like many children her age, she is naturally curious.
