Factions and gangs

Recommended Posts

These are the factions and gangs you will find represented in and around the large town of Stahlwasser

Factions

Keepers of Steel:

This organisation was founded as a reaction to how the gangs in Neuropa became more organized
and grew big and strong. Led by Logan Prowley, this faction is divided into two branches: Military
divion and tech division.
Both branches are sworn to stick to the codex, which is the upmost ideal one must follow as
a member or face dire consequences.
With that said, some have a hard time dealing with their views of mutants of any kind, whom they
view as impure and a sad reminder of the past. They only attack them if provoked, but sadly this
does happen, so they have a strained relationship to anything beyond humans.
The view from outside is that they mean well, but can be stuck in their ways a bit much and can be
hard to compromise with.
They have taken to a ranking system akin to that of the former military:
Commander - Prowly
General
Major
Captain
Lieutenant
Sergeant
Private

Distinctive feature: Scholars use blue tinted power armours or robes and soldiers red power

Aqua Vitae:
A group led by the very charismatic and well respected Bruce Livingstone. This group is very
aimed at helping others learn how to help themselves and defend themselves, in a proper and
morally right fashion. They are very welcoming, humane and friendly towards anyone regardless of
their "race" og affiliation (as long as they do not harm others). They are very knowledgeable about
agriculture, medicine. A purely humanitarian group with devotion, care and solidarity.
Main office: Grosskrankhaus, Berlin

Distinctive feature: Lab coats or uniforms with the symbol Rod of Asclepius.

The Cartel:
An organisation all about trading and profits. They run most of the known markets as well as being
rumored to also rule most of the black markets. Even if they did run much of the shady trade, they
might use bribes and other foul means to cover this up.
No methods are too harsh, underhanded and scheming for these people, but any rumors of this is
somehow dealt with rather easily and thus mistrust is not something people like to do.
HQ: Pari (formerly Paris)

Distinctive feature: None known.

The Saviours of the Day After:
A minor cult, who thinks they have the Truth for the salvation of humankind. Mostly they stick to
independent towns and settlements, which are either not aware of them or ignore them as they
overall seem harmless.
They are deeply fanatical though and will let nothing get in the way of their ultimate goal.
However, this goals various a lot from place to place, due to very loose organization. Their overall
official goal is unknown.
To become a member you must prove yourself worthy somehow. Rumors say that they will come to
you if they want you.

Gangs

Polecats:
A gang which primarily sticks to towns. They usually commit petty crimes and are very loosely
organized. The name of their leader is Wolfgang, who was a former officer within the ranks of the
Keepers of Steel. He was expelled due to corruption. Usually they wander around in numbers of 1-3.

Eshii:
A very well organized gang, that operates over the entire Wasteland. They have some of the best
gear, but not power armous. The group consists mostly of humans though there are sights of
mutants in their ranks, but these are often given the worst assignments.
The gang is made up of people from all over the Wasteland. Their leader's name is Mr. Buttingham
and his second in command being Jackington. Both of these were once part of the same mercenary
group.
Usually they form groups of 2-3 since they need no more with their excellent equipment and
otherwise would be easier to find and track.
They dabble in any sort of wrongdoing except slavery. Despite their gritty and unpleasant methods
they do have a sort of codex they stick to and if broken, the perpetrator is either killed or send into
exile.
Their main base is only rumored where it might, but no one outside of the gang knows.

Dusters:
A very large gang that exclusively keep to the Wasteland. Despite being the biggest group by far, it
is poorly organized and equipped. Their gear is mostly made out of scrap and other stuff they might
find here and there. They mostly keep to themselves and usually raid caravans.
