The young wizard, Hyu, had poured over the ancient tomes, hunted up lost scrolls in secret, and erected a mystic barrier to keep Dread Ji-Xi from discovering his plan.

No one born of The Rune Kingdom could wield the Star Blade - Ji-Xi had captured the sword generations ago and killed the last descendants of the Star Champion before Hyu had been born.

Yet the spark of hope burns.

Hyu felt the portal ripple into existence. He looked around his shielded shrine - the gate was somewhere else! The Dread Lord would surely have felt it too...

Then, nearly as fast as the first magical ripples had reached him, the second wave hit. Something powerful had passed through. He reached through the aether, feeling for the power but the portal shimmered and burst like a firework.

Hyu knew which direction to go and gathered his things quickly. He must reach whatever had come through - hopefully the new Start Champion.
