Daddy’s Girl (Or possibly Mommy’s Girl)

Life’s been hard since you lost your job. 25 years with the company, only for them to shut down your whole department to cut costs. Thankfully, mom still had a job, but as the months stretched on your two fought more and more, her blaming you for not finding a new job. 

I tried to stay out of it, focusing on my course work for school, but I knew you’d turn it around. I had faith. 

Mom didn’t. I came home from school one day to find you devastated. Mom walked out on both of us. She just left. Apparently had a man in the wings. 

Don’t worry, Daddy. I still believe in you. I’ll cook and clean and try to help you get back on your feet.

Looking for a slowish burn, dare I say wholesome relationship between a middle aged dad and his college age daughter. I’m picturing a plus sized redhead for my girl. Good student, big heart, awkward.
