Samantha could understand why Alez was avoiding eye contact with the people here, she did the same thing when she first wound up here. The people around here were guarded and more unfriendly when around people they didn't know or didn't like. People around here got burnt pretty bad by life and given that they didn't easily trust or let people in. Samantha herself still hadn't reached that stage yet but she guessed that it wouldn't take her long nowadays. As they walked further into the slum area, Samantha felt Alez grip her hand softly.
