The tavern glowed with the light of lanterns, still barely illuminating the large common room.  Bar maids moved from table to table, their attire attracting it's own attention.  The occasional grope from a patron seemed not to phase them as more then a few would take patrons upstairs for additional services if requested.  The tables were half full of travelers come upon the massive metropolis in the center of some rather harsh terrain.  Pornopolis stood as the only bastion of civilization in the area, trade routes came and went in the four main directions but few if any small settlements existed outside the metropolis walls.

To the north resided a mountain said to have treasure in it's depths, as well as more then a few horny monster although the tentacles beasts said to roam the caves were profitable to hunt and bring parts back from.  To the east resided a large magical forest, trade could travel through it without issue but leaving the path left one open to attack by the creatures that lived there.  To the south resided the coasts the most likely way for a traveler to arrive in these lands, even a small portion of the city hit the coast allowing for docks, the coasts themselves were riddled with pirate coves and sirens plying their trade.  Finally the west rested a large plains in it resided the wild hordes, generally peaceful but if caught on a bad day one could find themselves quickly captured and sold as a slave to a tribe lacking their gender.  The city had many adventuring and thieves guilds always seeking talented risk taking individuals to go make a fortune in the dangers lands around the city.

Monika found herself at the inn, her last trip's loot already spent and down to her last few gold coins.  She needed a score, and probably quick.

"Shit..."  The raccoon woman shook her head as shook her small satchel and plied a couple coins into her palm, peering them over with distraught.  The satchel had been pretty hefty just a few days ago... how had she managed to waste so much so quickly?  AGAIN!?  Leaning back in her seat in the corner, Monika knew she had one night left and a meal with what few coins remained.  "Sshhhhhiiittt…"  She was seriously starting to reconsider some of the offers the thieves guilds had made.  Though she hated being part of any kind of group and liked to fend for herself, she was getting tired of being such a klutz when it came to the coins she got or stole.  "Hmm..."

Looking around the inn, she started to visually inspect potential targets.  She could try and find another job but... she hadn't straight up stolen randomly in awhile.  And she kinda wanted some gold quick.  Which of these pee brained idiots looked like they had more than a few copper pieces yet looked dumb enough to lose them?

As the talented thief scanned the room the bar maids outfits seemed to draw her eye the most, each of their tops were easily a size too small for their chests, and the skirts barely covered their asses.  Each one wearing a different color of panties.  Although not exactly what she was looking for, none of them seemed like good targets, but they did draw her eyes to a good target.  A young noble seemed to be sitting mostly by  himself deep in his cups, his hands easily wandering but always slapped away playfully.  It seemed he had over stayed his welcome with most every barmaid in this place.

She did recall a single job that was with the thieves guild, it paid well but was extremely dangerous for a different reason.  She would need to steal a gem from a group of Orken, large boar men who if she was caught would easily rape her, probably for quite some time.  Assume she could keep her wits about her from their drugs and endless fucking she would still need to escape them as they would certainly try to keep her as a permanent fuck toy.

Well... the barmaids certainly must've had a good lot of coins about them but... they were too obvious.  Besides, going anywhere near them seemed to illicit male hands to jut out and started groping about, and the last guy who did that to her ended up with several missing teeth.  Course, it had been a councilman so... she was still wanted for that...  Her eyes wandered further, though, as she noticed a different patron who looked quite like the easy prey.  His grubby hands definitely would distract the already drunk man, possibly enough for her to sneak in and out.  As was customary for her.

Getting up out of her seat, she started to navigate her way about the tables, keeping a low profile and keeping her muzzle covered, her cloak keeping her features mostly hidden.  With any luck, she wouldn't bump into anyone that recognized her... for any reason.  Course, as she passed one of the tables and saw the insignia on one of them, it reminded her of a job their group offered.  A dangerous one, but well paying...  'Feh… I'd need to be real desperate to be doing that...' she muttered under her breath as she approached the man from behind.

Posted

As she did he groaned again as he finished his most recent cup of drink, she noticed an insignia on his coat he was from the house of Tigers a powerful house to say the least.  But he was obviously a weak link in his family.  She could finally hear him mutter under his breath, "Stupid sluts, trying to get me distracted so they can take my coins."  He muttered again to himself, she was right he was completely distracted.  His coin purse, his three coin purses hanging from his belt as a barmaid wandered over to give him another drink.  His hands reached out to try to get a feel of her lovely ass and thighs.

The barmaid noticed her stalking lightly but did nothing in fact it seemed she leaned forward slightly letting him have more access to her lovely butt to give the thief an opening.

'The house of Tigers?  Well shit!'  Several feelings ran through her as she noticed the young man's affiliation.  On the one hand, stealing from one of its members... even the runt, she supposed... was a good gain of notoriety.  After all, stealing from the powerful rich was always a good way to advertise to potential clients, as typically, those tended to be the hardest obstacles within the city.  On the other hand... even if he was pathetic, he likely had at least one other member who could vouch for him, and this proposed a risky endeavor for her.  Still... seeing him so distracted and... with so much gold on him... it was worth a shot.

Though she wasn't a particularly forward patron, she tended to lose quite a bit of gold here, and likely, at least some of it, to the barmaids as she tended to leave lots of coins lying around.  Hell, for all she knew, stealing around here had been made much easier for the benefit of others, and she had been clueless about it.  Regardless, she smirked under her shroud as he reached away for the maid, and she quickly swooped in and snatched all three bags in one go.  If he felt anything, it would've been just the slightest of tugs on his belt, something that wasn't particularly bothering.  Though even if he checked, she'd already be nonchalantly disappearing behind a crowd of nearby ruffians, the bags secured under her cloak.

The maid and the drunk had a slight grope fest his hand sliding over her lovely ass.  Before she swatted him away, he did not notice her theft, at all as it seemed at least slightly he had already paid for most of his evening.  The three pouches felt hefty in Monika's hands as she could return to her table or head to her room to check her score.  As she moved through the crowd another of the bar maids slide past her a small slip of paper shifting into her hand as the barmaid passed without even blinking at her.  She was already gone, the feline bar maids made themselves visible when they wanted to be and vanished like a skilled thief when they didn't.

Already the heft was getting Monika really excited.  'Oh boy!  This sucker really came loaded tonight, huh?' she mused to herself under her breath and she quickly darted between tables.  She had only barely realized the slip of paper in her hand by the time she slunk back to her table in the corner.  Course she had to display her brand new earnings for all to see instead of sneaking back to her room and doing it in the comfort of her own privacy.  Chucking the bags unto the table in front of her, the bags made a rather loud series of clanks as gold coins spilled from them.  "Hahaha!" she giggled to herself as she didn't hesitate to reach out and grab several, just to grope them about in her palm.  Money turned her on, apparently.

But she noticed a rather obvious not golden item among it all.  "Ooh ho ho!  What have we here?" she uttered as she quickly reached for the paper and read it.  "Some kind of secret, perhaps?  How much is this going to be worth, I wonder?"

Posted

Her mark continued to be drunk across the bar as looked over her earnings, about fifty gold coins, a good score for just pick pocketing a drunk in a bar.  On the slip of paper read a simple message, it was in femine handwriting, 'expect a visit tonight, to pay for the aid.' it read in oddly enough blue ink, if she looked she would notice the bar maid who had helped her loose her mark of his coins wore blue.  Maybe it was intended to be from her, or it could mean something for him.  Without a signature to guide her she could do little more then guess.

The final sac had a odd piece in it, the gold was certainly good, but this one had a single small statue in it, ,it was of a tiger the eyes were small gems, mostly worthless but the statue obviously meant something to the family.  And would mark that she had stolen it from one of theirs.

As she mused over her earnings the door burst open as a rather large tiger stood in the doorway, his hand on his belt as as he scanned the room, finding the drunk at the table he sighed as he continued scanning the room.  His eyes meeting Monika's as he stared at her but ignored her and walked across the room to the drunk.

'Score!  I love these suckers!  So dumb!  By all means, bring your valuables!'  Monika was far too excited as she read over the note to really process it.  'Pfft… aid... dunno who you are blondie, but I did this all by myself!'  Not that she even really noticed the woman looking at her.  After all, she was a thief of some renown, and she didn't tend to bother with nuances.  Course by the time she got up to her room, she likely would've lost a good chunk of her newfound wealth.

Setting the gold aside, she handled the statuette and peered it over carefully.  'Ooooooohhhh!  What a lovely little thing!  I bet you're worth a whole lot to the tigers, aren't ya?' she uttered to herself with a smirk, groping the golden statue in her gloved palms, at least before the door flew open.  Spotting the tiger there, she quickly chucked the item back in its bag, seeing him stare at her for a moment, and she quickly looked away.  'Nope, nothing to see here!'

The new arrival walked to his fellow member pulling him to his feet, the man gave some slight struggle but did little to fight him as he let him drag him from the bar.  After only a few moments he returned and walked straight to the racoon thiefs table.

"Hello."  He growled as he sat down across from her his eyes glancing at the gold.  "I will give you this one chance thief my brother is a idiot, and missing his coin purses.  One of them contained a statue of little value to one like you.  Return it to me and that will be the end of it, don't and we will have issues."  He said narrowing his eyes at her his presence was decidedly intimidating, although he seemed calm with little anger flowing through his features

Despite her usual obliviousness about her surroundings, the nobles were too vivid across the room not to notice, and as the larger tiger grabbed his buddy and started pulling him, not to the door, Monika couldn't help but grow a bit paranoid, snatching the satchel with the tiger statue in it and promptly hiding it under her cloak, stuffing it into her belt.  As they approached, she pretended not to notice as she played with several coins between her fingers.  Being greeted, she peered up, devoid of a guilty conscious or complexion.  After all, she didn't get this far by stealing and feeling guilty about it.

"Well hello there fellow taverners!"  Course he was quick to get down to business, and she scoffed at him.  "Hmph!  What makes you think I stole anything?  Tonight?  Much less this drunken idiot's purses?  He probably dropped them on his way here!"  Even if he was a bumbling buffoon, insulting him to his face probably wasn't the best idea, but she wasn't known for best ideas.

He smiled towards her as she sassed him.  "I know you Monika, your reputation proceeds you."  he said with a smirk as he leaned forward.  "You don't have to admit to anything maybe you just found a statue around, he is a drunken idiot.  If you have it return it, if you don't, well then we start playing a fun game.  Honestly I would prefer you don't, it's been so long since I've gotten to hunt a sexy thief like yourself."  He said with a large grin as she sat staring at her.

His posture and body exuded confidence, he knew what he could do and he knew her at least by reputation and was already prepared to deal with her at least somewhat.

Posted

"Oh?  Do you?  Well then, I won't have to give you my business card, huh?"  She continued to sass him, as it was in her nature.  Monika didn't appreciate being intimidated, one way or another.  But she also wasn't the type to fight either.  She'd much rather get the hell out of dodge and had pretty good escape skills.  She already was subtly judging the exits, either via the front door, the back door, or even jumping out a window upstairs.  The raccoon also peered about at some of the rougher guys, and figured starting a tavern brawl would be a good distraction if need be.

"Alright, I'll admit it.  I'll admit you stink worse than a big, dirty ape," she said with her rather sharp tongue, insulting him to his face.  She wasn't going to play along, so he'd have to play by himself.  "But statue?  Nope, haven't seen it.  Don't have it.  Probably been peddled already to some bum.  Looks like you're out of luck."  Raccoons already had a poor reputation in general, and she went along with the stereotypes quite well.  Already she was reaching for a small stone from her sling satchel to toss at a nearby ruffian.

A single eyebrow raised towards her.  "Fine have it your way, have a good night Monika.  I look forward to seeing you again."  He said with a grin as he stood from their table and left the tavern leaving her alone with her ill gotten gains.  The tavern itself seemed to ignore them completely as the noble left the building to it's own devices once again.  A new maid headed over and stood next to Monika's table.

"Ready to order something?"  She said with a shifted hip as she looked down at her her arms crossed under her rather impressive bust looking at the thief to take her order and let her night proceed on.

Posted

"Have a good night?"  He seemed way too courteous... but when he just upped and left, it left the raccoon just sitting there in awe, blinking as she just barely realized they were gone.  No tavern brawl then?  Dammit!  "Well... I... won't be seeing you, asshole!" she spat back at no one, since the target party had already left.  Grumbling to herself about how it had managed to turn out, she only vaguely caught a glimpse of the woman that came to wait on her.  "Huh?  Oh... yeah hm..."  Giving the gold before her a quick look over, she grinned as she quickly forgot about the nobles and just wanted to enjoy some of her gains.  "Gimme... 5 ales.  And make them real dark!  Oh yeah, I also want some honey bread and a rack of ribs while you're at it!"  She started ordering without even bothering to find the prices of things, as she tended to do when she came into a good catch.

Posted

The woman raised her eyebrow at her and turned and left, the tavern remained as it was until her food arrived, the five ales landed on the table with her food.  Giving her a table that any passer by would assume there were five people sitting at it instead of one.  The maids continue their work and leave Monika to her food and drink.

Posted

"Oohhhh yes!"  It had been awhile since she had been able to afford such a delight, and she didn't hesitate to start downing the ale and ravaging the ribs.  Course it wasn't the best quality she had ever had, but hey, she wasn't about to take her loot and head off to the nicer areas to get some grub and alcohol when she was already so comfy here.  Her coins were carelessly left about her table as she swung empty mugs around, leaving and several coins falling to the floor as she continued to get sauce all over the place.  When she was really in the mood, she was bit of a piggy eater.  By the time she finished, the raccoon was thoroughly drunk and full.  "Hhoo weeee!  That was good!" she uttered before burping loudly and she leaned back in her seat, basking in the afterglow of the meal.

Posted

The tavern continued it's normal operations as another maid came over, an oddly familiar one.  "Enjoy your meal there beautiful?"  She asked with a smile as she swayed slightly to some unheard music.  Her hands began working on the table clearing collecting the mugs and plates as she moved with practiced precision of an experienced bar maid.  "You need anything else for your evening?"  She asked with a smile.

Posted

Even through her tired drunkenness, Monika gave the maid a stink eye as she moved about with that feminine finesse.  Clearly, she, like the other barmaids, were very practiced in their attractive mannerisms... at least toward the guys.  She didn't buy it one bit.  "Nah, I'm good," she uttered with another burp, flailing her hand about to dismiss her once she was done.  Course, she was disinterested in watching the attractive woman clean up her mess... and wasn't paying attention to her gold, as per the usual.  In fact, for being the thief that she was, she was utterly clueless as to how to safeguard a fortune.  Her curse of being a highly skilled thief came with the cost of never being rich.

Posted

It only took her a few moments to clear off the table, leaving her with a clean table, some gold still sitting on the table although the piles were smaller then they were before.  She left letting her sit at her table in peace, her room was already paid for so she needed to do no other interactions with people before she left for bed.  The tavern slowly began to clear out as the busy time ended the night winding down, although new patrons were arriving as their days were ending, this particular city seemed to have a never ending day.  As such the tavern was always slightly busy with bursts of business as the more populated jobs ended.

Her night was done her belly full, very little left to do but crash for the night.

Posted

With all the alcohol she had consumed, she wasn't going to be any less drunk anytime soon, and seeing as there really wasn't any need for action right now, she figured she'd go and sleep it off.  Course, as she stared at her much smaller piles, her doublevision granted her quite the boon, making it look like she still had quite a bit left.  "Oh you!  I love gold, I just keep spending it and it doesn't go anywhere! HIC!"  Her hands clumsily went about the table, pushing the shining coins back into the pouches, though it took her a bit of time to do as she kept missing the bags.

Eventually, she had gathered her small wealth all up and clipped them to her belt, before stumbling out of her seat and bumping into several tables on the way to the stairs.  It wasn't hard for anyone to tell she had drank herself under the table, and she was going to be out cold for the night for sure.

Posted

More then a few eyes watched her collect her gold, her path to her room was empty, the key opening the room without any struggles.  As the door closed she felt the dark room around her, the bed in the far corner as a table rested in the corner with a single chair at it.  The chair was facing the door, a dark figure sitting in it seemingly just waiting for her.

"Enjoy your night?"  The voice asked, his fingers steeple in front of his face as he watched her.

Posted

Stumbling about, Monika had no intentions of stopping before she got to bed.  She was blissfully unaware of the eyes on her and her newfound fortune, nor did she really connect that anyone else was in her room before the voice called out to her.  "Huh?  Who?  What do you want?" she asked in a drunken haze, reaching to her belt to draw her dagger, only to pull out a banana she stole from a monkey earlier in the day.  "You see this?  Right here?  I'm gonna enjoy it some much more when I'm shoving it up your face!"  After a loud burp, she uttered a snorting chuckle and stumbled forward a bit.
