  1. As answered in this question: I hope that helps.
  2. Hey; thanks @Buio for answering those questions. Obviously I knew the answer to the first question; and whilst it wasn't an "GOTCHA!" Your answer to the question I was going to hypothetically ask next was pretty much what I was looking for, to understand your point of view. If I agree with it or not, is irrelevant for this topic. As for the second question; I'm not sure if I can agree or disagree with it, as it seems more like a personal perception to me. When I picture it in my head and perhaps it's naive, but I'm thinking for example for the video game: Phasmophobia. A conversation that revolves around talking about the ghost, the best methods of collecting evidence about that ghost and the game mechanics, isn't something that is political - to me. Granted there is lots of room where people can agree and disagree, for sure. But again this wouldn't be politics to me, and is not what I'm referring to. But then this goes back to a previous point that was essentially "Define: Politics" because everyone is probably going to have a radically different definition. So from what perspective; I can at least understand where you're coming from. Sidenote: I'm half way through the linked video, and I'm sorry to say but the methods that are described can be said exactly the same for the far-left, and perhaps other radical groups - like cults. Same tactics, just with different themes and subject matter, and I certainly wouldn't agree that some of it is as binary as the guy describes. Am I saying that in my opinion he's completely wrong? Absolutely not. I am not a political commentator or analyst, nor did I study political theory, I am a layman, a guy who sees it from the "Normie" perspective, perhaps. But this is perhaps veering a little off topic. But thanks for sharing your view points. The more information there is that is helpful for all sides of the argument, the better it is for what I hope for and that's for other people can see it and help them make up their own informed decisions.
  3. I want to clarify a misconception that has probably come about due to my own poor wording. There is no option on the poll that says "Completely and outright ban all political discussion on EcchiDreams, full stop, period." It's just to keep it out of the public sphere, and take it to your EcchiText boxes, or private conversations. So the option is basically saying; "Look. There are plenty of places where you can do your political activism (Be that; whatever you political views are). There are plenty of places to post your political memes. This site isn't it. This site is primarily for roleplaying, and a community of roleplayers who want to discuss roleplay things and what the community offers, such as common interests. If you want to talk about real-world politics, or meme about real world politics, there are plenty of other websites out there that let you do that. If you want to talk about those things with other Dreamers, then for the love of everything sane, do it in EcchiTexts. We're tired of seeing the inevitable drama in public." I should also add that this isn't a referendum, where we will take the votes that people vote for and do that thing. We absolutely might not. It's an attempt to shine a light onto this issue, to start a conversation about it and let everyone to see what people think. We may not change the policy at all for reasons that have been put out already. I really wish more people were like this. This was my hope, that people would be mature and adult enough to either pass at it or start a genuinely civil conversation. I figured if you treat adults, like adults, they will behave like adults. Clearly; I was seriously naive. I will say this; from an Admin point of view. The ignore system is frankly ridiculous because it is not consistently applied. Take the activity feed for example - all posts wherever you're ignoring the person or not, will appear warts and all. We can't do anything about this, because this seems to be a limitation of Invision Power Suite, the software that this community runs on. Since 2018, I have been asking IPS to fix this and address the issue, but to no-avail. Come 2021, I've given up asking. The decision wouldn't come because we want to control political discussion one way or another, and I think this viewpoint is absolutely uncharitable. If I am interpreting what you're saying correctly, of course. After speaking to many people on this site, the overwhelming majority of them are sick and tired of having politics from one group or another rammed down their throats. Where if you don't agree with one side on one seemingly inconsequential issue you're 100% one side or another, or you're an absolutely "Immoral person" that should be shamed publicly - and often disruptively, which is why a lot of people have the viewpoint that they do. You are right, if I am thinking this correctly, in the thought of: Define what is political? Because honestly, I don't know and I doubt you do as well. Not everything is political, but a lot of it is by varying shades of gray -- in my opinion. But the thing is, sometimes jokes are just jokes. You can't possibly know the true intentions of posting those jokes. Sometimes, to some people, the extreme absurdity of that joke is what makes it funny. Sometimes the disconnect between reality and the joke is what makes it funny. Sometimes the truthfulness in a joke is what makes it funny. Sometimes the irony in the joke is what makes it funny. Sometimes taking something detestable and turning it into a joke, is not a joke at "Hurr. Hurr. Hurr. Racism is funny!" It's to mock racists and racism itself. It's all so very subjective. What you find funny, what I find funny, what any random given person finds funny is going to be different. Hell, even if two people find something funny, it could be funny to them in very different ways, and likewise what things people don't find funny could be unfunny in different ways. Sure; you and I might not like some of these jokes and could correctly attribute any one of those labels to them, but at the end of the day, they're just jokes. That's not even getting into a joke that is funny to you today, might not be funny to you next week under different context, and that's not even getting into personal "In Jokes" amongst friends. This is not a total disagreement with your statement however; you're right in that some times these jokes aren't jokes, but it's a way of dismissing or even tapering criticism whilst attempting to look reasonable, it also can be used to test the waters - as it were - and put out a completely detestable idea under the guise of a 'Joke' or as a way of 'Triggering the X' as it were or even plays on people who try to not see the bad in everyone and everything that they do - exploiting their good nature. But a lot of people across the political spectrum practice this - not just the "Alt-Right" at least from my perspective. For example from the video you posted: "This is Gabe. He likes Video Games, Sci-Fi, Comic Books, Starwars and Anime. White Guy Shit." I assume that this is "Just a Joke®" But it could be seen by some as a racist statement passed off as a joke, or a racist joke that isn't serious, of course. Constantly jumping to "Things that I don't like aren't jokes, even if the person that posted them says that they are." Just goes to prove the mentality of what people (Including me) are saying. If you're not 100% one way, you're the other. The Universe isn't perfect, and humans are far from it too. Yes, even me. But an interesting question; what stops someone from creating an "Alt-Right" in the form of a roleplay? Would that "benefit the most depraved and disgusting", " reactionary shitheels like the qanon group, neo nazis, red pillers, and the like can always make racist, transphobic, anti-semetic, and whatever other offensive comments or memes, and then just call it," Roleplaying "when you call them out on their bullshit"? I mean what stops someone from creating any form of roleplay with politics, I guess? Or, I guess, a political club? I have a couple questions - and they're not "GOTCHA!" questions; but genuine questions. Please correct me if I am wrong; but EcchiDreams isn't the only site you go on, is it? How would it be an echo chamber when all we want to do is roleplay, or maybe talk about video games, sex, post creative writings and art, surrounded by the theme of Anime, Hentai, Manga? People don't want to see overtly political stuff from any side of spectrum. This isn't aimed at anyone, hence the dividing line. What I'm getting sick and tired with, is that those who say: "If you don't remove X, this proves that you're Y and Z." Like somehow the content of what people post on here is 100% fully endorsed by the staff, when it can't possibly be, or 100% fully endorsed by the entire community as a whole, which is just stupid. Some people want Section 15 to only apply to their ideas, or only apply to them, and everyone else doesn't have that same right. The idea of Section 15 was simple; I suppose it's also the freedom to criticise foolish ideas too. This never came out of malice, it didn't come from a bad place, and was never intended (and has never been used) to silence one side over another. But for example if someone started advocating "Death to X", "Kill all Y" and "We should exterminate Z." or "I will find where you live and I will X you." and so on, then this is seen as "Violating their Universal Rights" and is also illegal. We remove these, as rare as they are - memes or not. It doesn't matter what group of people you're advocating it towards, it's not allowed under paragraph 1 of the same section. But at the same time just because we don't remove something that someone deems as "Racist" doesn't mean we are in fact racists giving them cover. We put it to the Terms of Service, and if it doesn't violate it, then it stays and we let people say - if they want - that these ideas are abhorrent. Censorship only drives bad ideas underground, by allowing these bad ideas to come to surface, they can face the sunlight of public scrutiny where the ideas can be disinfected. Personally: I am fed up of people want me of all people to take sides in the culture war. I have my own political opinions, everyone does. Why am I not entitled to them? Why can't we live and let live? Sure if someone is saying something you disagree with it, then fine, but to hound that person into accepting your ideology completely is no different to me than the crusades of old, where you had to conform to religions. This is what Politics is looking more and more like to me nowadays. Religion that has been replaced, mostly by vapid and meaningless identity politics - on the far left and the far right - that is praised just as a zealously, that leaves us feeling more empty, and more disconnected from each other, with no room for even empathy to bridge those gaps. The last year or so has made me see that more than ever before. Again, I'm not perfect myself. I don't claim to be.
  4. Community Poll We're kind of at a crossroads here on EcchiDreams, and I want the decision going forward - to be something that the whole community has a say in. It is in regards to Political Discussions here on EcchiDreams. In the past we had a Politics and Debates forum where people could discuss such issues in what we hope would be a calm and civilised manner. However the equivalent on our Discord Server would constantly explode in shit-flinging contests and hysteria, so the options were quietly removed but political discussion was never explicitly banned. Politics has become an extremely divisive subject, with people taking 100% of one side or the other, with no room for middle grounds or nuance. You either have to be 100% one side or you're "literally worse than X". This is not healthy, and I bet the majority of people who come here, come here to get away from this. It's toxic. But people have the right to free speech, and thus it was never banned on EcchiDreams. It was discouraged from public conversation, we just politely asked people to conduct these conversations in private, but again, this was never enforced, as people could post on their statuses and such. We wanted to treat people like adults, in the hope that they'd act like adults, but this has shown, time and time again to not happen and it's creating a toxic environment that frankly no one wants to be apart of. Some have asked us if it's even worth it at all? Is EcchiDreams really the place to go for substantive political discussion? And so on. Is this something that we should just say "No. If you want to discuss it. Take it to EcchiTexts or find a platform to discuss politics. Keep it off and away from public on this site." As I said, I want to treat you all like adults. I want the community to have a say in this, which is why I am leaving it in your hands. If you are going to discuss the issue, please keep it civil. Poll closes in a month from now (March 7th 2021 @05:30hrs UTC)
  5. Sub-Announcement We've noticed an explosion of reports for Terms of Service violating content; specifically around Section 18, involving quote: "Depicts (or appears to depict) a cartoon/drawn/sketch/pseudo-photograph of a minor (under 18) in sexual situations or nude, as this counts as Child Pornography (by Law)." And in quite a lot of cases, these are valid reports and we deal with them as appropriate. This is by no means limited to just new Dreamers, but older and veteran Dreamers seem to falling foul of this as well, despite knowing that it's against the rules. So I wanted to remind everyone; again, of the flowchart. It's really easy to follow: Some of the commonly asked questions we get asked on this subject are: Can I post up an aged up variant of X? This largely depends but the answer is almost always: No. If they're a well established character (eg. Ash Ketchum from Pokémon), who is canonically 10 years old, and hasn't been aged up canonically, then the answer is a firm, "No." However if they're aged up canonically, (I can't think of an example off of the top of my head, but it has happened before) then it's going to have to be clear that it's that variant of that character, if that makes sense. We can't possibly know every single cartoon/anime/hentai in existence, so of course we rely on other sites (Such as fan wiki's and such) to fall back on as a source. Can I post this lolicon up? She's a minor, but she's fully dressed. Yes. This is SFW and therefore if you look at the flowchart, that is the first thing to check, it is allowed and can be uploaded. We have had a few reports over the last week or so where people have mistakenly believed that we don't allow these types of pictures, even if they're clothed and there is no genitals or sexual activity on show. This is a real life minor who is a meme, or is in a movie. It's not sexual at all, but can I post it? Absolutely not. We believe that there is no valid reason to post images of (real) children at all on this site. Think about it. Would you want a picture of your child (As innocent as that picture may be) being posted on an adult site, or being used in roleplays for people to 'have their way' with them? Of course not. It is actually a section 18 violation under: Depicts (or appears to depict) a real life minor, and certainly a real life child in any way, shape, or form (pornographic or not). A roleplay character is not a valid exception. I have an Ecchi picture of a drawn minor. Is this okay? This is where things get murky. Please feel free to check with any staff member first, we'll happily be able to say "Yay" or "Nay". Usually if it's not apparently obvious that there is genitals showing (Or certain bulges, camel toe, male genitalia, for example) and there is nothing inherently sexual going on; then yes, this is fine... But please check with us if you're not sure, we actually want to keep all Dreamers out of trouble. We don't want to be dishing out warnings like it's going out of style, you know? I have a NSFW picture of someone who is 1,000 years old but looks 10, is this okay? Absolutely not. This "Appears to Depict" a minor. If you're using this as a roleplay character, you need to find a SFW variant of that picture/character, or go back to the drawing board, because this will unfortunately fall under "Depicting". I have a NSFW picture of someone who is 3 years old, but looks over 18, is this okay? Again, no. If you're using this as a roleplay character, you need to find a SFW variant of that picture/character, or go back to the drawing board, because this will unfortunately fall under "Depicting". I reported this image, but it's still up. Have you even looked at the report? Are you playing favourites? We check every single report we get, manually. There are no robots using AI or machine learning and all that jazz. It's all human reviewed and verified. If we haven't gotten to it yet, we most certainly will eventually. Whilst we don't want to be dishing out warnings, we will when violations take place, and it doesn't matter if any of the staff are friends with that person or not. It will happen, and it has happened. We can't play favourites; I don't think there is a single Dreamer here who is friends with the entire staff, but even if there was, it wouldn't change anything. The entire staff have a say in all reports. If one of us decided to start playing favourites (Not that I believe we ever would) they'd be called out for it very, very quickly. Obviously we do not talk about actions taken on other people's accounts; for more than obvious reasons. At this time we also don't send reports back like, "Thank you for reporting this and being vigilant on EcchiDreams to keep our community free from violating content. Unfortunately the content that you reported "X" is not in violation of our Terms of Service. The reason why is: "Y"." Although I think I'd like to, so that we are open and transparent about these kinds of things. As a suitable compromise, you can message us if you'd like more information on why something you've reported hasn't been taken down, but that is not an open invitation to argue the toss with us over it. We believe that the Terms of Service must be upheld, firmly, but more importantly: Fairly. Factors such as race, sex, gender, age, political inclinations, whether you're a new dreamer or veteran platinum dreamer, or even a staff member, and so on aren't even close to being a consideration. Everyone is held to the same standards, the same Terms of Service - myself included. We don't usually fire off warnings instantly. We usually raise awareness in an EcchiText, thanks to refinement and suggestions from fellow dreamers. For example; the first couple of times content like this is posted, we'll probably message you and inform you that the content you posted is deleted. We'll say what content was deleted (Usually), why, and how to prevent yourself from being caught out by it in future. As I said; we don't want to start shooting warnings at everyone like it's going out of fashion. That's not exactly a conducive way, in my opinion, treating adults in an adult community. I'd rather treat you like adults. If you're not sure about something, please feel free to ask.
  6. You can do this by deleting the conversation. Click/Tap on "Options" and then click/tap on "Delete Conversation" this will remove you from the conversation, but it will also delete the conversation from your box. If you want to keep the EcchiText, so you can read it back later, I'd advise making a folder in the EcchiText home folder called "Old" or something, going to the message and then tapping/clicking on "Turn notifications off" which will only apply to that message. After moving the conversation to this folder, you will be able to view the EcchiText later.
  7. Okay first of all, you should submit a ticket to the bug report area. To be honest, from what you're describing, this sounds like it's going to get in depth and technical. I will say from my Samsung Galaxy S8+ (Not new and fresh from the factory) I do not have any such problems and I do not think that's its an inherent issue with the site. But I am more than willing to look into it for you, and hell, I am more than willing to be proven wrong. I will need to know the phone make, model, and what browser you're using on the phone. What exactly you're doing to elicit such crashing. But to be honest, if you're experiencing browser crashing, it could be the browser your using that's the problem, not the site or the phone itself (The hardware). There is a myriad of things that it could be, and if it's something that is definitely up with this site, I will want to take a look at it and fix it. So please, set up a ticket there, and I'll provide the tech support you need there.
  8. I do not believe that it is possible at this time. However it may be possible in the future to send everyone in a club an EcchiText all at the same time. How possible this is, I don't know at the moment, due to spam considerations and people who inevitably will abuse this system. I would recommend an "Announcements" area or something, and ask that people follow all topics in that area, that would be my counter suggestion, unfortunately.
  9. Tema

    Tranfer?

I am not sure what you're getting at. Please could you elaborate? If it's not in your inventory already, if you have the EcchiCredits, you should be able to send something to someone.
  10. Thank you for the suggestion, however this would be extremely niche and well outside of the scope of what the customised software can do. I will keep a note of it, as I always say when it comes to these things, "Never say never", there might even be another solution, but at this time I'm not too certain.
  11. "We should probably leave before the owners of this house get back."
  12. For private roleplays; typically one doesn't use the clubs, unless it's a private club, I guess. Typically one would use EcchiTexts. Although if I understand correctly you're probably looking for a roleplay site specific feature, unfortunately this site uses forum software made by Invision Power Services (IPS) that has been heavily modified to do the things that we want it to do. So we have to work within that framework, which is rigid to the say the least. That said; I am currently working on a completely custom solution, to replace what we're using completely, but I can't say much about that at the moment. Or if it will even make it to release, and I'm certainly not putting a time frame on it. As for the mobile app, as far as I am aware, this is not possible. Due to some of the extreme content on this site, I'm not even sure that it would be accepted on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store platforms at all. I know you can save the site as an icon or something onto the phone which is a kind of soft-app, as the site is basically a mobile app when viewed on a mobile anyway. For example in Chrome on the phone you can tap on the three vertical dots in the top right hand corner and select "Add to Home Screen" which you can launch the site from it's own instance there. This kind of acts like an app, and it keeps EcchiDreams in one place out of the browser. But it's same experience as the browser, if that makes sense. So for what you're wanting, this is actually already doable, and doesn't rely on policies set by third party app stores, nor does it involve loading unsigned APK's and the like.
  13. That is possible, the problem is, is finding images that we can use that: We can be licensed to use, or can credit the author with. That are appropriate to the forum in question. It is on my todo list.
  14. I don't really think this would work in this the format of the forums, unfortunately. I think that you're much better off using a live polling service. Such a service that exists off the top of my head is "Straw Poll". Which you can link to in your stream. Good luck with it.
  15. We have no plans on introducing further advancements to the premium membership feature at this time, but if we do in the future I will take these suggestions under advisement. Although I will say that some of these are technically impossible under the current framework, as I mentioned with the customisable homepage suggestion. That doesn't mean to say it'll always be impossible though. Thank you for the suggestion!
  16. As discussed on Discord several months ago, perhaps with other Dreamers, I can't remember. I too would love for club owners to have these features too, after all they're your clubs and you should have the tools to administer it. However: What permissions are given to "Owners" also are given to "Leaders" or "Administrators" of the group, and the question becomes; Should leaders/administrators of the group be given potentially destructive powers? By destructive, I mean - in the wrong hands, completely irreparable damage. And the answer to that is... Well, I don't know. I mean it is completely the Club Owner's responsibility for who they made a Leader/Admin for their group, and perhaps we should say that and add that; "You" as a Club Owner accept full responsibility for your club and who you appoint as staff, and if a rouge Club Leader starts deleting your clubs stuff - we cannot recover it, so bear these risks in mind. We do try to go for adult responsibility in most cases, so why should this be any different? I understand that. In any case these would require Terms of Service changes to reflect this. I'm not saying suggestion denied; but it is something that will require more looking into. If the delete function could be, or is, non-destructive, I'll make the changes in the heartbeat, but at this time I don't think it is possible. I will look into it.
  17. There has been several major updates made since this post was made. In that time I hope that it's improved at least somewhat. Unfortunately I see you've been inactive for a year at this point, and whilst I didn't respond, I did take the suggestion on board. If you do come back, please let me know if it's any better or not.
  18. I'm afraid I am having a hard time understanding or visualising what you're referring to. The way in which clubs works is the core of the IPS Suite, at this time I cannot really do much to change that, unfortunately.
  19. I too have fallen foul of this, on a post in a topic I was editing (It was the draft to the Statistically Dreaming article, I believe): So I know all too well how this feels. Some people have taken to writing their posts in Google Docs/Word/Libre Office/(Insert Text Editor here) and just copy and paste it into EcchiDreams afterwards which allows them to do a comprehensive spelling and grammar check as well. I know that @Neptune prefers to do it this way because of old habits in the EcchiDreams early days. But... The text editor is supposed to save what you've done, for just exactly this scenario. However it doesn't always work, in fact it doesn't work more often than it works, and I believe the blame for this lies purely at the desk of IPS. There's not much we can do about it. However; adding a prompt that asks you if you're sure that you want to go back if there is unsaved changes in the text box should certainly be possible, and I will look into it. Anything to stop this from happening would be nice, I agree. Please understand that even us Administrators are burnt with this from time to time, so we certainly understand.
  20. As nice as this feature would be, this is currently far outside of the framework of what we can physically do, at this time. However this is not a "This will never happen" kind of thing. EcchiDreams is always changing and evolving and therefore it is something that we could look into, and should the means ever come to be, we'll certainly look into it. Thank you for the suggestion.
  21. It's possible, and I may consider that in the future. We currently do not add reacts outside of community events (example) which the community must achieve certain goals in order to unlock them. However I will seriously consider this for the next event.
  22. I am sorry to hear that you're having problems with someone. I will say that if you have told them repeatedly to stop contacting you; and they've persisted then this is harassment as we've defined it in the Terms of Service (Section 10) please report it. However you can block someone from sending you EcchiTexts; and somewhat hide their content from view (Except for activity feeds and so on) by using this feature here: https://ecchidreams.com/ignore/ For more information please see this guide.
  23. Hello fellow Dreamers, Every now and again, I release some statistics for EcchiDreams. For 2020, I got a bit of a large one. If you'd like to see more of these every year or so, please let me know in the comments below. If any of the pictures are too small, and you can't see the text, please try opening them in a new tab. You might be able to see them better. I will improve on the graphs next time. But before I get into it, there is a few things I wanted to mention. There is an article I am planning in relation to a rising phenomenon that we've seen on EcchiDreams called "Ghosting" of which I am neutral on the subject (as in I either have no opinion on it, or I have mutual opinions). However I'd like a spot of help for research if you wouldn't mind answering some questions. Please send me an EcchiText with the subject "Ghosting": If you've ever ghosted someone If you've ever been ghosted If you have ever ghosted and been ghosted The deadline is March 1st 2021. I promise that this data will be used for research for the purposes of the article, information provided will be stripped of anything personally identifiable, and certainly stripped of names and specific situations. It'll be treated as confidential. Another thing I wanted to bring up before getting into this; is that the EoY (End of Year) update is scheduled to take place on the 16th of December 2020 during the hours of 09:00hrs to around 13:00hrs, with any luck. I will keep everyone up-to-date and informed on it as we get closer, but this will be quite a large update, with lots going on, and lots of fixes, with perhaps a new feature or two. Lastly; as some of you may have noticed... Sunstone is no longer a member of staff anymore. On October the 24th; after a long discussion he informed me that: "I think it is in my best interest to step down and walk away, so that I can better focus on other things in my life - possibly starting a new course in college, maybe preparing to travel abroad in a few years down the line, maybe starting an indie career in game design or music design or some other creative interest. I'm looking forward to new horizons. My time on EcchiDreams has formed a staple in my life and constituted many of my experiences as a young adult which I am sure I will look back on with blissful nostalgia in the years ahead. But for now, I think it's time for me to spread my wings and fly away." I had permission to quote this. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that he has our full support and best wishes for the future. Table of Contents Introduction Table of Contents (You are here) Methodology and Caveats (Correct Term?) EcchiDreamers and Profile Information Devices Demographics Age Sex and Sexuality Location On Site Usage EcchiTexts Registrations Reactions Roleplayer Preferences Private Roleplays Preferred Lengths Grammar and Spelling Sexual Content: Liked and Disliked Fetishes Preferred Types of Roleplay Character Type Preferences Methodology and Caveats The method of which this information is collected depends largely on what information was collected, as I will break down below. This largely depends on user generated input, so I cannot vouch for their complete accuracy, but there is enough data to start painting a bigger picture. All information collected from EcchiDreams was anonymised. Meaning it was downloaded onto my computer with usernames, user ID's, emails, and everything personally identifiable - removed. The only things I had access to was the specific information I was looking for; for example: Retrieving a list of Dreamer's selected Gender's and Sexual Preferences only. Which would give me a CSV file that I could put into Excel that had two columns; "Sex" (Male/Female/Prefer not to Say) and "S_Pref" (Heterosexual, Homosexual, Bi-Sexual, etc). That's it, nothing further. For the Roleplayer Preferences - to build a picture of what people are looking for on EcchiDreams, what the most commonly liked things are, etc... I just downloaded that section of the database containing all of that information and stripped out the personal stuff such as Usernames, IP Address, User IDs, etc, and this would literally just give me lists, which I then broke down so that for every time something was selected, it'd put it in the list. For example "EcchiText Roleplays" would be a column of which would be populated with "Yes, Yes, Yes, No, Conditional, Yes, No, No, No, etc." Because of this I am unable at this time to correlate the difference between preferences and sex's as well as preferences and sexual preferences. Maybe next time? For the some of them, I correlated it against Google Analytics, and the information that held on it. I only took a screenshot of the information I required. But again, this is based on User Input, as far as I am aware. It also - again, as far as I am aware, doesn't collect information from those that have opted out, or from those that use analytical blocking. Most importantly: Google Analytics information comes from ALL visitors to the site (Apart from the above mentioned exceptions), and not just the registered Dreamers. So whilst it's not a complete picture, or 100% accurate, it does show trends, or at the very least "Paint most of the picture". I am aware that there are some people who would rather not listen or be informed of some of the information I'm going to share. I've brought it up in the past when people (Mostly Men) have demanded "Girl Only RPers" or "Girls Only Respond" that most of the EcchiDreamers are in fact Males; and those that say they are female - are more than likely male, as well. They'd get very defensive, and close up immediately. If you're one of those; please click off this article because - spoiler alert - this data may very well upset you. All the information from EcchiDreams is based on currently registered Dreamers: Including: Deactivated Accounts Inactive Accounts Active Accounts Suspended Accounts (Temp Banned) Restricted Accounts Premium Accounts Staff Excluding: Banned Accounts (Perma Banned) @Ecchia (Bot) Diagnostic Accounts from third parties (IPS, for example) Accounts belonging to the deceased (That we've been made aware of) EcchiDreamers and Profile Information This information contains things about the Dreamers registered to the site. Devices Data Source: Google Analytics (Between 20th October 2019 and 20th October 2020) Over the years many sites on the internet have seen an increasing trend of visitors using mobile phones to access the site and EcchiDreams is no exception. This is why we modernised the site in 2015 so that it was more friendly towards mobile users, but still look somewhat sleek and modern on Desktops as well. This has since matured, thanks - in large - to IPS (Invision Power Suite, the base software for the site), as well as theme decisions. As we can see from the graph 59.4% of visitors to our site use mobiles, 39.0% use desktops/laptops and 1.6% use tablets. Whilst the trends for mobiles and desktops are on the increase; tablets are on the decrease from the previous year (if I am understanding the numbers correctly). I remember reading a bunch of articles online declaring boldly, that "Desktop Computing is Dead!" Well; the data doesn't back that up, for EcchiDreamers at least. Whilst it hasn't increased with the same share as Mobiles, it still is increasing overall and not by an insignificant amount. There is likely to be overlap as people use both devices to access and use EcchiDreams (I know I do). *Graph has been edited for those who are Tone/Shade Colourblind. The 10 most popular mobile devices are as follows: Apple iPhone (38.49%) Samsung SM-N986U "Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G" (3.12%) OPPO CPH1909 A5s (2.73%) Apple iPad (1.82%) OnePlus IN20205 8 Pro (1.82%) Google Pixel 3 (1.43%) Motorola Moto G5 Plus (1.43%) Samsung SM-G960U Galaxy S9 (1.43%) Unknown (1.30%) Samsung SM-A015T1 Galaxy A01 However it starts telling a different story when you look at operating systems that use the site, and this is quite interesting. The 10 most popular operating systems: Android (39.39%) Windows (26.65%) iOS (21.88%) Linux (4.84%) Macintosh (3.62%) Chrome OS (2.23%) Unknown (1.18%) Xbox (0.08%) Playstation 4 (0.08%) OS/2 (0.03%) Ever wondered why we stopped supporting Internet Explorer and certain consoles such as the Nintendo 3DS with technical issues? Aside from being mostly outdated and not really compatible with the websites of today, hardly anyone use it. 77 People in this time period used Internet Explorer, and only 4 used Nintendo 3DS consoles. The 10 most common browsers: Chrome (66.76%) Safari (20.16%) Samsung Internet (4.96%) Firefox (3.01%) Edge (1.43%) "Mozilla" (0.97%) Opera (0.95%) Android Webview (0.70%) Safari (In App) (0.21%) Amazon Silk (0.18%) EcchiDreams does report on this as well, but the results don't exactly correlate. Google's data had a much larger sample size, as this reporting is a new feature for EcchiDreams in the back end, and it's not exactly clear what it considers a "Visitor". For example: Are search engine bots considered "Visitors" to EcchiDreams? If so does a server get counted as a "Desktop" device? Demographics Data Source: Google Analytics (Between 20th October 2019 and 20th October 2020) and EcchiDreams User Profile Polling (From start until 20th October 2020) There are several sections to this that I want to cover and cross cover. We have not got any data on 'Race' or 'Ethnicity', and quite frankly, I wouldn't personally care to have that kind of information anyway. But we do have countries (Which could be skewed because of VPNs). There is a lot to kind of take in here. Age First. Let's talk about age. It's clear that the majority of people, according to the Google Data, who visit EcchiDreams are in the 18-24 years old, age range category. The breakdown is as follows: This could be representative of our member base, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be. It seems that those in the 45-54 age group are more likely to see the site and immediately leave, far higher than any other age group. The least likely to leave the moment they see the site is 35-44 year olds. Sex and Sexuality Next, with Sex and Gender. I am well aware that there is a clash between people on the internet on the very definition of "Gender" which I am not going to go too much into. This assumes that Gender/Sex is binary because: Gender is what Google seem to use, and Sex is what EcchiDreams uses. Google Analytics only has "Male" and Female" and neglect "Other". EcchiDreams uses, "Male", "Female" and "Prefer not to say". Dreamers who haven't filled out this field aren't reported in the data, however those that have filled it out with "Prefer not to say" are marked as "Undisclosed." The Data that EcchiDreams reports, is vastly different to what Google says, and proves my point that I made earlier. See for yourselves. EcchiDreams Data: Google's Data: So uh... Let's talk about this, shall we? To clarify: The EcchiDreams Data is what Dreamers have set their sex on their profile on the site. What the Google Data is showing us is, I assume, what they set on their Google Accounts, or what Google have determined them to be. If the Google one is treated as more accurate than the EcchiDreams one, then we're looking at something pretty interesting here. Now, remember that the Google Dataset is showing us all visitors, registered and unregistered, where as the EcchiDreams Data is only showing us the registered. Either this is saying that: Women are more likely, than men to register to the site (Which I honestly see no evidence of that) or, More likely, there is a large body of men on the site that are pretending to be women (Which I think, given my personal experience) is way more likely. For this kind of site, the Google Analytics data seems to be more accurate. But this is largely anecdotal. Assuming that this is 100% accurate, I don't think it's feasible to expect that all 26.9% of our female visitors to have registered, just like I wouldn't expect all 73.1% of the males to have registered. Therefore I have to conclude that over half of the people who claim to be female on this site; are in fact male. So please bare this in mind. There are genuine females on this site, and this site welcomes both sexes, or "All" genders. Personally, I don't care what's between the legs of someone I roleplay with, but perhaps that's a minority of people. I don't know. Perhaps I or someone, should make a poll on that. If you have any thoughts, or opinions on the matter, please share them below. In regards to Sexuality there are some interesting things to consider. This data purely comes from form information filled out by Dreamers in their profiles, which I think is kind of unreliable. Regardless; the data was collected and this is what I found. Overall, when you combine the both sexes together you get the following graph: However when you break it down between the two sexes you get the following: Which is very interesting. However, because of the above mentioned problems with the Sex Criteria, this information is almost completely pointless. But it's included to cover bases. Location Lastly, under demographics, I'm going to look at location; which country are our Dreamers from. This information was taken from Google Analytics again, and shows that by an overwhelming majority- people from the United States of America are more likely to visit the site, and this is somewhat reflected in the registration information as well. The top 20 countries are as follows: United States of America (57.74%) Germany (5.31%) United Kingdom (4.03%) Canada (3.86%) Brazil (3.58%) Indonesia (2.58%) Singapore (2.07%) Philippines (1.79%) India (1.67%) Austria (1.59%) Australia (1.19%) Lithuania (1.14%) Italy (1.07%) Mexico (0.99%) Netherlands (0.78%) France (0.75%) Ukraine (0.46%) Russia (0.46%) Jordan (0.44%) Japan (0.37%) More Stats: We've only seen one visitor in this time period from the following countries: Andorra, Afghanistan, Antigua & Barbuda, Azerbaijan, Belize, Cuba, French Guiana, Guernsey, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Montenegro, Madagascar, Northern Mariana Islands, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, Réunion, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Temen and Zimbabwe. EcchiDreams is completely blocked in one country; and that's China. Incidentally Microsoft, is the only email service provider to completely ban all "@ecchidreams.com" emails from their service, for trumped up, disproven reasons. The real reason is currently unknown as they seem unwilling to even contact us back anymore. On Site Usage This section covers everything on site, the information here is collected purely from EcchiDreams, via the Administrator Control Panel, thanks to the built in IPS statistics tables. By in large, a lot of statistics are actually live and public for logged in dreamers to see, whenever they want to (Here). EcchiTexts Compared between the date ranges of 20th October 2018 to 20th October 2019 and 20th October 2019 to 20th October 2020; the EcchiText usage went up by 122%. From 143,750 to 319.452 EcchiTexts sent back and forth between people on the site. Registrations Compared between the date ranges of 20th October 2018 to 20th October 2019 and 20th October 2019 to 20th October 2020; the amount of registrations we had shot up by 374%. From 519 to 2,461. I believe that the pandemic had something to do with this. Reactions Between the date range, the most popular reactions are as follows: Love: 20,508 (51.4%) Like: 10,202 (25.6%) Haha: 3,536 (8.9%) Woohoo: 3,208 (8%) Thanks: 1,349 (3.4%) Sad: 945 (2.4%) Top 5 Reaction Givers are as follows: @aLittleCrow - 5,021 @Eros Angel - 4,289 @JennyDK - 4,029 @Neptune - 3,980 @Buio - 3,054 Top 5 Reaction Receivers are as follows: @JennyDK - 11,805 @Elena Ichinomiya - 4,859 @Eros Angel - 2,527 @Tsuki - 2,506 @Kendra Love - 2,028 Roleplayer Preferences Source: EcchiDreams (From when Roleplayer Preferences started, to 20th October 2020) We have finally got enough data in the roleplayer preferences to get a pulse on the community's most picked preferences. Private Roleplaying It seems that the overwhelming majority of EcchiDreamers either prefer to only do private roleplaying (In EcchiText's or on EcchiChat) or are at least willing to do them (>95%). It is the extreme minority that will not do private roleplaying (1.1%). Preferred Lengths This concerns data in the Preferred Roleplay Length and the Preferred Roleplay Post Length fields, which means the length of time the roleplay goes on for and the length of each post within that roleplay, respectively. Grammar and Spelling This is an English speaking forum so it was interesting to see the results of this one. Unsurprisingly, it seems the overwhelming majority of people prefer those that are fairly competent with their spelling and grammar. It seems that Grammar matters more than spelling to people though, if anything matters. But the next largest presence is those who have no preference to spelling or grammar competence. Sexual Content: Liked and Disliked Fetishes Being an adult website and coupled with the fact that a lot of roleplays have sexual content, it makes sense for the roleplayer preferences to include this section, and the information that we've collected on what things people will and won't do on this site has been very interesting to say the very least. It seems that there are things that people generally - will not roleplay, and they're very clear in the data. Now; I wasn't able to correlate this with announced Sex or Sexuality due to my very strict privacy limitations. Top 5 Liked Fetishes: Blowjobs (1,369) Consensual Sex (1,347) Breasts (1,225) Handjobs (1,199) First Times (1,183) Bottom 5 Liked Fetishes: Scat (62) Adult Baby (89) Amputation (115) Shaving (191) Enema (196) Top 5 Disliked Fetishes Scat (1,169) Adult Baby (1,141) Amputees (939) Emema (619) Beastiality (564) Bottom 5 Disliked Fetishes Masturbation (17) Swimwear (18) Consensual Sex (21) Handjobs (21) Uniforms (21) So it is fair to say that both Scat and Adult Baby for this community are considered pretty fringe. With it being very low down on the liked as well as being very high up on things that people won't roleplay. That is not surprising to me. What is surprising is the amount of people who like Consensual Sex (1,347) in their roleplays over Rape (902) and how this correlates on the 'Disliked' which has Consensual Sex (21) and Rape (374). Preferred types of Roleplay This concerns the setting, or the theme of the roleplay that people like or don't like to do. This is fairly evenly spread out with no clear winners, until you look at the types that people don't like to do. As you can see, Horror and Fan Faction Roleplays are not exactly the favourites of people on this community. Preferred types of Characters When asked what types of characters people prefer to interact with, within a roleplay. As in what type of characters you'd prefer your partner to play as; and what you wouldn't prefer, the results were as follows: So there you have it. What are your thoughts and feelings on these? Please be sure to let me know in the comments! Image Credit: エイチス Given the situation we find ourselves in this year, I wanted a nice relaxing image for this article. This piece by Eichiss or Eichisu and I felt that it fit the needs that I wanted it for. It; in my opinion is a very good picture with excellent attention to detail. If you want to check out more of their work, feel free to check the link above.
  24. @KinkyKathy Just shoot @Neptune or I a request with the URLs of the topics you want moving over to the archive and why (Like were they abandoned, or finished, etc). Edit: @Neptune just informed me that this has already been done for you.
  25. There is a large maintenance cycle currently going on. We usually go offline when this happens but I've taken to doing it whilst the sites online so no one has to wait for us to come back online. It's fully automated, you see, you it can work away in the background. Things will speed up again as soon as it's finished, and it only needs to run once a year or so. This happens during the maintenance cycle that I mentioned above. Sorry for the inconvenience, everyone. I've made a note of my mistakes and I will try to account for them next time.
