  1. This is a copied version of my entire opinion after finally finishing Violet. I can't post it as a status because it's likely too long for the character limit, so I'm posting it here and will probably make an abridged version.
  2. It's a fairly recent change that new accounts can't send EcchiTexts right away...but I don't remember the requirement to get past that restriction.
  3. Seeing that Clefairy Says image reminded me of a moment from when I played through Stadium 1. Several years ago, on a whim and to test my OBS settings, I did a stream of Stadium 1 where I tried to run through Petit Cup. For context, Petit Cup is basically the predecessor of Little Cup in Stadium 2, where all mons can be from Level 25 to 30, but all rental Pokemon are only Level 25. Only unevolved Pokemon are allowed. Anyway, I got to the final battle and nearly lost, then completely gave up hope because all I had left was Horsea against the Pokemanic's Psyduck and Sandshrew. Sure, I could one shot the Sandshrew, but rental Horsea only has Bubblebeam and Ice Beam for offensive moves, both things that Psyduck resists. In the end, however, Horsea carried the team to victory out of the jaws of despair. Fast forward several years, where once again, I find myself in a final Petit Cup battle where all hope nearly seems lost. This time, however, it was because I misclicked and sent out my Sandshrew on the Pokemanic's Level 30 Dratini instead of Gastly, like I intended to. Sandshrew got crit by Ice Beam, and I was losing hope fast because he had Sandshrew in the back, and I knew it had Earthquake and could one shot me. To win, I had to rely entirely on pure luck with confusion and Night Shade. On that day, the stars alligned and Dratini hit itself every turn when it tried to use Thunder Wave and Sandshrew hit itself every turn it tried to use Earthquake. Nidoran M was a joke because three of his moves couldn't hit and Poison Sting literally did 1 HP. Gastly carried the team on his back, just like Kadabra, Gengar, and Starmie do just about everywhere else in Stadium 1 with rentals only.
  4. I'm just going to leave this here for potential battling shenanigans. : A lot of Pokemon, that I'd need multiple screenshots from Serebii.
  5. Since I currently don't have the game yet, the following opinions will be based entirely on what I've seen from other people (a couple of VTubers and a couple of people I regularly watch on Twitch, and a couple of reviews). Ignoring the technical issues, it does feel like a step up from Sword and Shield, but in my opinion, that's an incredibly low bar since Sword and Shield are pretty awful to begin with. It's a perfectly serviceable game for what it is, and at the very least, I'm glad my boy Staraptor has finally been released from purgatory in a mainline game. Now, if only the same could be said from it being moved out of BL in Smogon's tier list. In general, I like the concept of "do what you want." It's a nice change of pace from being put on a linear path, do 8 gyms, maybe stop a world ending apocalypse or evil syndicate, Elite Four + Champion, then GGs. From what I hear, however, the non gym challenge storylines aren't as fleshed out as the gym challenge, which I don't think is a real dealbreaker, since the gym challenge has sort of been Pokemon's thing since Gen 1, with Gen 7 being the sole exception because island trials. The new gimmick is thankfully less broken and unbalanced in singles as Dynamax was and Tera Blast sort of feels like the replacement to Hidden Power, especially with the fact it's damage is calculated by your higher offensive stat. While the mechanic can be used to give STAB moves a boost, you can also use it defensively to change your type, and lacks the same snowbally nonsense Dynamax contained with it's double HP and stat buffs on some attacks. However, the performance issues are very hard to ignore. They are bad, in some ways, even worse than anything Sword and Shield put out. This is a system that even just this year released titles like Bayonetta 3, Monster Hunter Rise, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and none of those games have the sheer level of performance issues that Scarlet and Violet do. I am one of those people who have a very negative lens of Game Freak since the whole dex cut issue back in Gen 8, and seeing the game in the state it's in only lowers my opinion of them even further. Will I still enjoy the game? Probably. But I can't just ignore the glaring problem staring me and many other players in the face. Beyond that, I don't enjoy how they removed the set battle feature, another in the laundry list of things that shouldn't have been removed and probably was for either no reason or a completely dumb reason. It honestly feels like they're taking away player choice. Some of the moveset removals also have me scratching my head, like Scald being taken from just about everything but Volcanion, which already has a signature move in Steam Eruption. Stall getting a nerf with recovery moves having their PP reduced to 5 (8 max) was fine, but things like Scizor and Volcarona losing Roost was pretty eh. I am very much glad they nerfed Zacian, however, as it was on Mega Rayquaza's level of sheer brokenness. A shame about Protean getting nerfed, but that's been a problematic ability since it was introduced on Greninja's line back in Gen 6. Also, please stop adding Charizard back in every game. Give some of the lesser used starters some love. Meganium's been getting fucked since Gen 5 when it got Leaf Guard while Venusaur got a vastly superior ability in Chlorophyll, a mega, AND a Gigantamax form. Also Meganium and Feraligatr are both still in purgatory while Charizard specifically gets a pass because the Game Freak devs seem to love it over all other starters in my opinion. EDIT: Continuing that Meganium comment, even though it got a sucky HA in Gen 5, it wasn't even available at all until Gen 6 and I believe was only distributed one time, and on top of that, it was through Pokemon Bank.
  6. For those planning to play the games blind, be warned that reviews and gameplay is all over the place on YouTube today. Personally, I've already seen some of the leaks, so I already had a general idea of what to expect, and reviews did cement my opinion to actually try out the game, so (hopefully) my copy of Violet will come in on Tuesday. For those playing on launch day, have fun with the game. For those aiming to play more competitive, I'd advise looking into what's been buffed and nerfed, because it will likely have an effect on teambuilding.
  7. As much as it sounds fun, I don't own any Gen 8 game. *awkwardly sips iced tea in Gen 6 competitive player*
  8. As much as I would love to suggest 6v6 singles, we don't know if they're going to retain the abysmal 20 minute battle timer or if we'll have the ability to set rules.
  9. In a sense, you could say the Ender Dragon is the final boss of Minecraft...not that there are other bosses, but he's basically the equivalent of one. Not only do you need specific materials to make an entrance to reach the dragon, it also requires some prep work so you don't get smashed by it. ...But I don't play Minecraft. Watching enough speedruns and Hololive Minecraft streams from a year ago or so have given me this knowledge. I tried Minecraft once, didn't know you moved with WASD, then never touched it again since. I'll stick to RPGs and getting screwed by luck in Mario Kart.
  10. 'Young man? How dare you ask me such a question as if I was a lost child?! Perhaps I should reconsider using you as a member of my ultimate army and...' Vangor's trail of thought cut off for a moment when he tried to reign in his emotions. He knew that he had to keep up appearances in order to get ahead, and letting his emotions get the better of him wouldn't help him earn followers. 'It would likely be best to shift the topic away from such things. The sooner our business is concluded, the better, after all,' he thought. "I do not believe such a detail is very important. After all, we are only gathered here today to request your aid on a certain project. Myself and...this one," Vangor began, pointing the tip of his staff at Karnis even though he already knew her name. "We have been assigned a project by the academy, a 'video project,' I believe it was called. You have been called forth to provide aid with this project so we may all go our separate ways when it is completed. Naturally, you will be given a share of the credit upon it's completion," Vangor explained, doing his best to keep up his persona.
  11. 'This is the person you wished to introduce me to? Is this some sort of trap? No, Vangor, this may be a perfect chance. If I can sway this one to my side, such a source of strength will surely aid my conquest attempt. After all, all great overlords cannot do everything on their own. They require allies to make their goals reality,' Vangor thought, taking a quick glance at Karnis. 'However, there is always the chance something could go wrong if I attempt such a thing at this time. For now, I should wait and see. I will play along and complete this project, and hope my skills will sway more to my cause,' he continued, returning his attention to the large goro woman. "I am Vangor, future king of this world. A pleasure," Vangor finally said with a bow, deciding to tap into the act of another one of his favorite cartoon villains, a calm, charismatic type who could sway the common folk with their words. Vangor himself, being merely average, lacked that type of charisma, but at the time, he had thought it best to "fake it until you make it."
  12. ?????? I actually won? I'm going to be honest, my entry was very much a rush job. I was at work the day before the deadline, realized I had about 20 minutes, and then typed up something on my phone, which is something I don't like doing. I will also state for the record I didn't vote for my own idea, I voted for Aura's as it was the only other non sex driven entry outside of mine. But still, this is quite the surprise. Ever since writing that entry, I've been considering expanding on it as more ideas have slowly come to mind. It's under consideration because of PC issues at the moment, however.
  13. Greetings and warmly welcome to the club @shrike. I am happy that you chose to join here. Let @JennyDK know if you need any help to get started or if you wish to make a starting scene together. Please note I more or less just copied another post and changed a couple of things around while things are quiet.
  14. An "it's been 3,000 years" bump. Haven't gotten around to adding new ideas yet because of my PC freezing seemingly at random. It's a pain and I'm honestly considering just stockpiling my money until I can afford a new PC.
  15. (Typing on mobile, but I used the 4th image) https://i.pinimg.com/564x/13/56/72/135672868d41f6770cfced9070e76404.jpg "There he is! Don't let him escape!" The blonde haired man being chased down by the security guards but his lip as he made a mad dash down the hall. He knocked over any potted plants or tables he could to slow his pursuers. To him, such a situation was just another ordinary day. Tasked with infiltrating the West Axiom Research Facility to uncover information on their new Project Cradle. All the info he had gathered sat safely in a flash drive in his pocket. The man ran until he reached a dead end. There were no nearby rooms to slip into while a window sat in front of him at the hall's end. Loud footsteps and shouts echoed down the hall, quickly getting closer. Going back would be akin to suicide, leaving the man with one choice. With a running start, he dashed towards the window and leaped out. Landing on his feet on the hard concrete, shards of glass from the broken window fell around him. Before he could let out a sigh of relief and keep moving, several bright searchlights turned on, causing the man to cover his eyes with his arm. Surrounding him in a half circle was a group of security guards, all of them armed with either rifles or stun batons. "I knew we had an intruder, but I didn't expect it to be you of all people. Bruno, the infamous Fixer," a woman's voice rang out from the back of the group. Walking out from the center of the group was a tall woman in a white lab coat, aiming a handgun at Bruno. "Dr. Cykes, it's good to see you in the flesh. I didn't know you were running this operation," Bruno replied, keeping his cool even while clearly outnumbered. "Don't talk to me like we're old friends, Fixer! I only came to question you," Dr. Cykes said with an icy glare. Bruno shrugged and shook his head before the woman asked her question. "Not many are stupid enough to stand against Axiom Labs. Who hired you? They must be paying you quite a bit to put your life on the line like this," "Sorry, but you know I can't tell you that. Part of the Fixer's Code, you-" Bruno began, but before he could finish, a gunshot rang out and a bullet wizzed by his head, nearly hitting his ear. "Don't give me that bullshit. You Fixers are just glorified mercenaries who would do anything for money. All of your types are nothing but filth," Dr. Cykes shot back, aiming her gun at Bruno's head. "Now, I'll ask you one more time. Who hired you? Who is trying to get information on Project Cradle?" she questioned. Watching Bruno's eyes darting around, the doctor fired another round next to Bruno's foot. "Don't think of trying to escape. You're surrounded, and the moment you make any sudden moves, my security team will take you down," Dr. Cykes continued, flashing a smile as she spoke. Instead of the look of defeat she wanted to see on Bruno, she subconsciously took a step back when the man started to laugh. The doctor bit her lip and took aim at Bruno again. "What's so funny?!" she asked. "You got it all wrong, doc. I wasn't planning on running. After all..." Bruno started, slowly pulling his hand out of his pocket. In his hand was what appeared to be a stun rod, but after pressing the button the handle, the device unfolded into what looked like an edgeless sword. Bruno flashed a smile. "I wouldn't be so infamous if I couldn't get out of a ham like this," he added as he took a step forward. While some of the guards raised their weapons, others stepped back, intimidated by the man's fearlessness in the face of his odds. "Let's have some fun!" Bruno called out before running towards Dr. Cykes.
  16. Listen...I think it's time we cut things off. No, it's not because I don't like you, and it's certainly not because of that one time you hit your knee on the coffee table and spilled tea all over my favorite light novel. Ok, maybe I am still pretty mad about that, but it was an accident. I just think, "maybe they can find someone better, someone more compatible," and that is why I believe breaking things off here is the best choice. We can still be friends, though. P.S, that cookbook you ordered on Amazon won't be in until next week.
  17. So, would we post our entries here or as a separate thread? Just want to be sure.
  18. "Do as you please," Vangor quietly responded, deciding to keep his association with Bella a secret. As a more indoorsy type, Vangor didn't agree very much with the kind of mentality someone more sporty tended to have. In his past, he had a number of verbal conflicts with those types, leading to his eventual dislike of them. 'The sooner this project is completed, the sooner I can return to my own plans. I must finish perfecting my Shadowshot and continue searching for more parts to craft a new staff,' he thought to himself.
  19. Open to anyone. Josh is just doing his own thing while he's not distracted. Yes
  20. "Drone Alpha will go through Sections A through C, Drone Beta will do Sections D through F, and Drone Gamma will deal with Sections G through I," a black haired man said to himself, sitting alone at a large wooden table. Next to his laptop were three basketball sized metal spheres along with a red toolbox. Surveying the map of the library he had pulled up on his laptop, Josh got straight to work sending his drones out to perform the tasks he required of them. Checking the shelves, putting books back in their proper places, and making sure nobody was doing anything they shouldn't in the library were only a few of the tasks he had in mind for the day's work. Putting on his headset and directing his commands to his Strike Drones, the metal spheres activated, floating off the ground. Giving the drones their commands, the three flew off towards the directed sections of the library while Josh took a seat and moved his laptop closer. With a few clicks, he managed to pull up a camera program that showed him what his Strike Drones were seeing. "Modification of Strike Drones Alpha, Beta, and Gamma took far too long. I will need to go acquire the parts to finish modification of Drones Delta and Epsilon later. And yet...it is surprising. He hasn't contacted me with information on his latest scheme," Josh said to himself.
  21. (It is said he usually wears glasses, just for the sake of appearances) Name: Joshua (but he prefers to be called Josh) Position: Librarian Age: ??? (Claims to be around 250, but isn't sure) Race: Vampire Sex: Male Personality: Josh is cold and calculating, in a way similar to a machine rather than a man. He believes in solving problems with cold, hard logic without applying emotion in the equation. Usually, Josh says what he's thinking, regardless of whether or not he comes off as rude. Some may say he doesn't even care how people see him, not that he seems to have much of a grasp on emotions in the first place. In his last job, which was as a librarian at a community college, while he had a number of admirers, his cold words shot them down. He tends to be someone who works behind the scenes rather than take the spotlight, playing the role of the brains of "a certain man's" schemes. At the same time, however, it can be said that other, softer sides of Josh come to the surface around this "certain man" who he owes a life debt to. He also tends to complain a lot about this same person. Despite his cold exterior (and interior), Josh has an interest in myths and legends. Working at the library gives him the chance to read up on such legends. Oddly enough, despite being a vampire, he has little interest in drinking blood. Abilities: 1. Strike Drones - Spherical, mechanical drones made by Josh for combat. With some modification, the Strike Drones can be used for more domestic purposes, such as aiding him in his work or collecting information from a distance. Wearing a special headset equipped with special electrodes, Josh can manipulate the Strike Drones using his mind. Usually, he only controls two at a time, but if he overclocks his brain, he can control a maximum of five at a time, but doing this would eventually either destroy the headset or fry his brain, and the parts for not just the headset, but the Strike Drones, are incredibly expensive. The drones also have a range limit. 2. Mechanical and Technological Knowledge - Being "the brains of the operation," Josh has quite the knowledge of machines and technology. His Strike Drones were personally made by him through hours of hard work and a number of deals in order to acquire the proper parts. Part of how Josh has a healthy bank account is because he sells his tools to wealthy buyers. He's also been known to do a bit of hacking back in the day when money was tight, for the right price. 3. Tactical Ability - Having to babysit his roommate and friend, Josh had developed a decent level of planning and strategy. Having to learn how to command his Strike Drones with just his mind aided in developing this ability. 4. Average Marksmanship - Josh has no memory of his past before his fateful meeting with "a certain man," but along with his knowledge of technology and machines, he has an average level of skill with a gun even though he would prefer to use his Strike Drones in an encounter.
  22. More "I have to read through and see what happened while I was hardcore slacking off"
  23. The first one, yes. The second one, however, is a bit more of a mystery. And now that I have gotten my answer, it's off to the (proverbial) lab...and Google Images.
  24. Just curious, but is the librarian role still open or has it already been claimed?
