Forums are still a relatively new thing to me. I'm from that era where A&E was a thing, and IM history saved my ever loving soul in keeping track of previous posts. I use Discord but I like a separation of church and state since I also game and I'm not sure I want the streams to cross willy-nilly. Also, if you don't get the Ghostbuster reference you're depriving yourself of something truly delightful.

I came here with the intent to find fellow RPer's who would enjoy a long-term story. I'm very relaxed, and I have a healthy belief that life comes before all things online. I have a very demanding job, and I like to do things beyond what a computer can offer. There will be days where I will be willing to chat but not have the mental stamina to write a post. I try to be upfront and honest about that. I am also happy to just chat with people. I am very open and sociable. I do not care about your gender, race, age (so long as you're of legal age), all that. You can't learn about life if you don't talk to people from all over. Fair warning, I will make awful jokes and flirt shamelessly. Flirting means nothing beyond being a fun way to talk, so I will flirt with everyone. If you feel uncomfortable please tell me to stop.

Oh god I'm terrified of this. For some reason I refuse to make a second discord but I'm always so paranoid something will bleed across between my friends who are... very different. xD

IM was fun, did you ever use AIM? I kinda miss that. Not sure why, just nostalgic I guess.

Yes, I tried desperately to hold on to messengers  I think MSN was my low point. The first forum I found was a fade to black, behave yourself type. I am not well behaved. 

Also, thank you for the welcome! I've invited two people ever from a forum to my discord (a few years ago). One didn't go so well, but the second it's nice. That needs some serious trust, though. I'd rather just have a universal no and then make exceptions.

I hear you! I feel like after IM declined, there wasn’t really a good replacement for a little while. People were mostly focused on texting, but texting sucked back then, especially on non-smart phones.

The worst thing about MSN was the “nudge” button! Remember that? It made the window come to the front and shake obnoxiously for the other person.

An opt-in policy for Discord sharing is probably wise.

I don't remember that, but MSN also feels like a fever dream. By that point I knew I was in trouble, but I also had friends from other messenger platforms that were willing to follow to other messengers or switch to email. Email did not work as well as I had hoped.

Yes! I love world building. It tends to come with me wanting to play multiple characters. I had very indulgent long-term partners. So many characters for one world we built it was like twelve couples. There was a website and everything to help keep characters and back stories neat and organized. 

If you would like to try writing something I'd be interested to talk ideas. Just realize I come with risks.

Yes, I have several furry friends. We game, we hang out, it's really nice. Then I get to learn about who they are, and the culture. I love my friends, and I want to know who they are entirely rather than just the general social norm. We need a new set of norms because a lot of important topics are still taboo.
