side story A Win-Win Scenario [Shneek and Neptune]
Neptune replied to Sneek's topic in Blackberry Falls's Roleplaying Topics
When Thaene arrived at the apartment, it didn’t take him long to find somewhere to park. As he turned off the engine, he pulled out his phone and saw that he was a minute early. He got out of the car and looked up at the apartment building before heading inside, looking for a plaque to tell him where each apartment was. When he saw it, he skipped up the stairs, taking three at a time. There was a lift, however he was always faster heading up the stairs. Once he reached the right floor, he turned the corner and went down the corridor to the right apartment. He looked up at the door, before he looked down at his phone and texted ‘Here’. He then looked around, looking out for any curious eyes. He didn’t knock on the door, as he didn’t really want to draw any form of attention to himself. While he was often reckless and impulsive, he was far from stupid and really did not want to land back in jail so soon. -

Sköll gave the detective a searching look as she asked him yet again about what he had seen in this place. She would either not listening, stupid or so nervous that she was repeating herself. After a moment of staring at her, he decided that he would be charitable and go with the nerves, “No. As I said. It’s nothing but this.” Sköll once again waved around them at the bland corridor and the intense lighting above them, “I can try and give you a tour if you want. You’ll love the constant lights and the lovely yellow walls.” He said the last part with a sarcastic bite but it wasn’t directed at her. His tone returned to a more neutral one, “Who knows, maybe you’ll spot something that I’ve missed. Like a way out.” -

“An ounce, huh?” Thaene asked, turning on the stop and starting to walk towards where his car was parked, “That will cost ya but since you’re new, I’ll be nice and say two-fifty. Best shit in Blackberry Falls.” He could hear the man shuffling around in the background and assumed he was busy doing something. At the question of how long it would take him to get there, he had to think about it for a moment. It wasn’t too far, however he would need to go and pick up the ounce from one of his stashes, “About half an hour, tops. I’ll text you when I get there.” He then hung up the phone and slipped it into his pocket as well as pulling out his car keys. He reached his car a moment later and slipped inside, slamming the door behind him. He glanced around, checking the mirrors to make sure that no one was following or watching him. He turned on the car before pulling out and heading down the street towards his nearest stash while being mindful of what was going on around him. Once he reached the location, he jumped out of the car and casually wandered into the abandoned building. After checking that he wasn’t followed again, he slipped between a small gap under a collapsed roof to a small opening before moving some debris to reveal his stash of drugs. He picked up an ounce bag and slipped it under his baggy hoodie before he replaced the debris and slipped back out. He then returned to his car and started driving off towards the apartment. -

Sköll took a few moments to consider her question. Physically, he felt fine other than a slightly irritating headache but that had not started until recently. The sight of the yellow walls and the buzzing of the overhead lights irritated him and made him feel a little restless. He shrugged, “I guess? I don’t feel strange. I have a headache but that didn’t start until about an hour ago. At least it feels like an hour ago. I haven’t seen a clock since I came in here so I have no idea if it’s even daytime.” -

Thaene felt his phone ringing in his pocket, the vibration buzzing against his thigh. He ignored it as he was setting up a deal, giving a rather anxious looking young man a bag of crack cocaine in exchange for money. Once Thaene had pocketed the money he pulled out his phone and saw an unfamiliar number. He also noticed that he had a voice mail. With a perplexed look he opened up the voicemail and held the phone up to his ear as he listened to it. His eyebrows rose as a masculine voice spoke over the phone, ‘Hey, I uh..I got this number from a friend who said I could get some weed off of you. I just moved here like two weeks ago and I'd really rather not be sober. If this isn't a cop gimme a call back, haha, I got money burning a hole in my pocket.’ “What kind of square…?” Thaene asked out loud before he snorted in amusement. Either this dude was a cop himself, or he was new to picking up drugs from an actual dealer. He didn’t sound young, though. Perhaps he was dealing with shit in his life and wanted some relief. He called the number back. As soon as it connected he said, “Yo. Got your call. How much are you wanting, and where?” -

Sköll almost rolled his eyes when she said that she had ‘merely’ asked who he was. He was about to make a snarky response however her questions stopped him short and he ended up frowning at her instead. He tried to remember where he was behind he had appeared here, but other than a few flashes, he had nothing. Other than his name, he knew nothing about himself. He couldn’t even tell her who his parents were, if he even had any. He patted down his trousers, seeing if he had anything on him. Keys, wallet, anything. But they were completely empty. In the end he had to awkwardly say, “I, er… I have no idea where I was. All I remember is waking up here. Other than that, I remember nothing other than my name.” -

OOC: Slang for an military officer. A scoff escaped Sköll when she told him that she didn’t care for his rude attitude despite being rude to him a few moments beforehand. Why should he show this woman kindness, when she had shown him none? “I’m rude? I think you need to check yourself on that, detective. But whatever. I’ve told you already what I know about this place. All I’ve seen is nothing but what’s around us. Other than that big room with the pillars. But otherwise? There’s been nothing different. I assume you’re not having any luck?” He then asked, indicating her radio. -

Sköll reacted to the edge in her voice and her words by letting out a scoff. He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the wall, feeling the cool paper pressing against his skin, “Civilian? What are you? Some kind of army brass?” He shook his head, trying to clamp down on the flash of anger that wanted to lash out, “If you think I have anything to do with you being here, you’re wrong. For all I know, you’re responsible for me being here.” He pushed himself off of the wall and allowed his arms to fall back down, “But, judging from your evident confusion, brass, you’re not. I’m Sköll. That’s all I know. I woke up here, hours ago. I’ve been wondering around and it’s so far been nothing but… this.” He waved a gloved hand around them, indicating the walls, lights and carpet, “That’s all I know. Now. Identify yourself, brass.” -
Location: Winter Flowers The moment the two notes were placed in his hand, Zack drew his hand back to put distance between them. He said nothing in response, choosing to remain quiet. He knew that if he spoke, he would quite likely say something that he would regret. The last thing he wanted was for Silvia to overhear him cussing out a customer, or for a customer to come in at the wrong moment and see him losing his temper. With quick movements he placed the money into the register, shutting the drawer perhaps a little harder than he should. When she told him to keep his secret, he gave her a rather unimpressed blank look. He crossed his arms over his chest before saying, “Sure. Whatever.” He watched as she seemed to be scanning the shop as if trying to spot something. He didn’t know what the hell she was looking for and frankly, he didn’t care. He just wanted her out of his shop as soon as possible so he told her, “Your flowers will be delivered. Have a nice day.” He snapped his mouth shut against the other words that wanted to escape. He then stood and stared at her, waiting for her to leave.

The moment Halie told her where the bathroom was, Rose took a step towards the door but froze when she started talking again. She shifted her head, watching Halie out of the corner of her eye. Her words were rambling and all over the place but she caught the warning loud and clear. To not try and escape. To hell with that! She didn’t want to stay here with any of these damn monsters. If she could get away, she would take the chance. She turned her head further and looked at Halie as she stared down at the floor. The sight of the hollow gaze caused a chill to creep up her spine and forced her to look away once again. She swallowed again, trying to force back the bile that was trying to make its way up her throat. She watched Halie out of the corner of her eye as the other girl rose and started walking towards the bedroom door. Rose drew back, putting further distance between them as she watched the girl shuffling to the door, muttering under her breath. The words made no sense to Rose. This girl thinks that the man that had… violently touched her not long ago, loved her and would protect her. Just how insane was this girl? Rose knew that staying here any longer would not be very good. She glanced towards the window, hoping that it wasn’t locked or could be easily unlocked. Rose looked back towards Halie and resolved to try and leave through the window when she had left to speak to her ‘father’. -
I only have one character that can be a blackmailer. He's currently a onlooker but he can be either a victim, or blackmailer. He is a little busy at the moment with Aura's character though, but otherwise he is free for other plots.

Journey through the Backrooms (Neptune and JennyDK)
Neptune replied to Neptune's topic in The Backrooms's The Rabbit Hole
Sköll wondered for what felt like hours, the only company being the scuff of his steel-cap boots on the thick carpet, and the buzzing of the lights above his head. The sound of the lights was beginning to really irritate him. There was no escape from the sound and it seemed to drill into his head. It was really hard to ignore, even as he was finding more strange things the longer he walked. He came across a room with a load of pillars but he could see no reason for them. This place made absolutely no sense. It was as if the architect was on some kind of psychotropic like acid. He turned one corner and came to a stop as he heard something different. It was a human voice. He started moving again, following the sound. Due to the strange nature of the place, he almost went down the wrong corridor but he corrected himself. After a few minutes of searching, he turned the corner only to find another person. She had what appeared to be silvery hair and grey eyes, and was wearing a leather jacket. She was also speaking into a walkie-talkie, clearly trying to get into contact. Her voice was a welcome reprieve from the irritating buzzing. He wasn’t sure if she was a potential threat but at this point, he would take that over wondering about this place alone, “Any luck?” He asked. -
Location: Winter Flowers Zack watched as the woman leaned forward and he almost gave into the urge to lean back and away from her. His eyes widened slightly at her implicit threat. This bitch was seriously resorting to blackmail? He knew that if she did report it, it would come out that he fucked prostitutes and any hope of reviving his dying marriage would be completely gone. Silvia hated nothing more than a liar and a cheat, and he would be exposed as both. He gritted his teeth, clamping down on the urge to punch this woman in the face. It was a strange feeling to want to hurt someone like that, as he wasn’t often prone to such violent urges but this woman was backing him into a corner and not allowing him any room to maneuver out. But then, if she was some kind of private detective, she wouldn’t be beholden to typical regulations. He didn’t respond, as he contented himself with throwing a venomous glare in her direction as she pulled back and asked her question. “... upfront.” Zack told her in a tight voice. It wasn’t strictly true for small orders like this, as they could take the money after the delivery. But her manner, and the implied threat that she would throw him to the wolves at the police station, caused him to be very distrustful of her. He then held out his hand in a silent demand for the money.

When she was released, Rose flinched back as she put distance between herself and the other girl. When she looked up, she saw the building anger in the other girls eyes and flinched away. As the girl ranted, Rose didn’t pay too much attention to the words spoken. Instead, the way that Anhara’s voice progressively got louder until she was shouting, caused her to panic. She glanced at the door, praying to the Lord that the horrible man would not return, angry at her for upsetting his supposed daughter. Rose found herself pressed against the headboard, her arms wrapped around herself as she trembled in fear and anxiety. Her lower lip trembled as Anhara continued on her rambling rant. The words made little sense to Rose. She spoke as if this ‘Halie’ and Anhara were two completely different people. But to her, there was no distinction. They were one and the same. Wary eyes watched the other girl as she stood up and walked over to the window. Once again, she glanced at the door, the terrified thought of the man coming into the room at the very forefront of her mind. She looked back at the other woman now that she was speaking softly, once again talking about herself as if she was a completely different person, warning her that ‘Anhara’ was very dangerous. She already knew that but the talk about her loving Anhara… that was never going to happen. Rose did not like hating people but this girl… this girl was someone that she hated. A part of her hoped, that if she was unable to get away, she would prefer to die and be delivered upon the Lord so that she was free from this place, and these devil worshippers. As the girl reached down and slowly lifted her top, Rose covered her eyes as she didn’t want to see the other girl stripping herself. After a moment she peaked to see if Anhara had covered herself again however she was then shocked at what appeared to be a tattoo across her torso. But after a shocked moment of staring at it, she began to realise that it was an intricate pattern of scars. It was both beautiful and sick. Her eyes were then drawn to the signature that was slashed across the girl's chest. The sight of it made her stomach churn and her sapphire eyes grew wide. Her mother watered a little, and she tried to swallow in a convulsive manner. Finally, she asked in a small voice, “Where’s the bathroom? I’m going to be sick.” -

Sköll slowly felt himself crawl to consciousness, his thoughts fuzzy and confused as if his brain was filled with cotton. His body refused to respond at first, feeling too heavy to move. He couldn’t even twitch his fingers or raise his eyelids. He tried to take stock of where he was but nothing seemed familiar. The air was cool, edging on cold. There was a low buzzing sound that intruded itself on his consciousness, almost clawing its way inside to take root, irritating him. Nothing seemed, or felt familiar. That thought alone caused him to shock to full alert, his eyes snapping open. He instantly squinted as a harsh yellow light assaulted his eyes causing a stab of pain to shoot through his head. “Fuck…” Sköll grumbled in a low and deep tone, the sound almost startling against the low buzzing of the lights. He reached up to press a hand against his eyes for a moment before lowering it and opening his eyes again. He found himself staring at what appeared to be a plain yellow wall, made even more vibrant by the harsh light. The carpet was a plain cream colour, and felt surprisingly thick under his buttocks. He frowned and looked to his left, to find that it was nothing but a long corridor. He looked to his right and saw much of the same. “Where… the fuck am I…?” Sköll muttered, his frown deepening. He tried to remember what he had done the night before, but found that he had almost no memories to speak of. The only thing he felt sure of, was his name. Otherwise, he saw nothing but flashes. Images of strange faces. And blood. He had a distinct memory of blood, a fact that rather unsettled him. He looked down at himself, as he found that he was sitting propped up against the wall. He could now see why he felt so cold; he wasn’t wearing much other than black leather trousers and a sleeveless vest open at the front with nothing beneath. He looked at his hands and saw that he had fingerless gloves on, and when he turned over his hands he saw that they had images on his right fingers. There were four of them, two red and two black. The red ones were a diamond and a heart shape, but he wasn’t sure what the other two were. He had no clue what was going on, where he was or even much clue on who he was. But he certainly didn’t feel like sitting here and moping about. With a grunt, he used the wall to push himself up so that he was standing. He looked left and then right, but as they were completely identical, there was no obvious way in which he could go. Not even any form of signs. After a few moments of consideration, he turned down the right path and began moving forwards as he hoped to find someone that could help him. @JennyDK

I believe the community that is doing the lore of the backrooms has already laid out at least the first 100 levels. I'm not sure if Aura is intending for other levels at this moment in time due to low numbers which is totally fair and reasonable in my opnion. As for escaping... there is no escape from the Backrooms. Essentially people end up here by no-clipping out of reality. It's why the levels are so huge and confusing and why time is a lot more... fluid.- 61 replies

I don't think it's too soon/sudden. Time in that place is pretty warped, so you could end up having your character seemingly wonder for hours and meet up with the others only an hour after she got close to them (from their perspective). The place isn't a static place from what I understand so I think you could use that to your advantage here. The Backrooms lore has been expanded a lot to be pretty complex, with over a 100 levels and filled with various entities. I am not sure what Aura is intending on adding to this RP. Right now it's just level 0. What kind of exploration are you thinking? I currently have two characters. Take your pick :3- 61 replies

Due to the strange time and archetecture of the Backrooms, it certainly is possible that while she might end up losing them, she could run into them by complete accident. Perhaps even literally lol- 61 replies

Raelynn felt the light weight of Trish’s arm over her shoulders, causing her to reach up with her hand to grip onto his own. She gave his hand a light squeeze, silently telling him that she wasn’t intending on letting go of him. Her other arm snaked around his slip waist, helping to keep him steady. Once she was sure that she had a good grip she looked up to see the wolf-girl scampering ahead of them. She was relieved that Trish was able to easily convince the young wolf girl to come with them away from the distressing sounds that she really didn’t want to think about. She couldn’t let fear overtake her, not when Trish needed her help. If she panicked and broke into a dead run, he wouldn’t be able to keep up with her even if his heel was fine. “C’mon,” She said softly as she began to follow the wolf girl down the corridor, supporting Trish every step of the way. She kept her eyes fixed on the wolf girl who ran from one entrance to the other, peeking inside as if to scout. The sight caused some sense of comfort, knowing that the girl seemed as intent on helping them as they were her. Just as she was starting to feel more comfortable with the growing distance between them and the sound earlier, more cracks echoed from the distance. She flinched and gripped a little tighter onto Trish, “What the hell is going on?” She moaned, her heart hammering in her chest. She could feel a cold sweat on her forehead but she dared not slow down or stop. -

Neptune replied to Aura's topic in The Backrooms's The Rabbit Hole
x.X Hello everyone. I've recently been getting some urge to write after being burnt out for so long. I think I can heavily thank @Aura for their help by chatting to me about The Backrooms while I've been binging videos on it lol So since my inspiration is here, this is where I will start and I will be taking things slow at first. As such, I've made a new character, Sköll. I want to explore the confusion in not knowing if he is a good, or a bad person. His past and memories are deliberately vague so he doesn't know if the memories are him being bad, or good... or somewhere inbetween. As for Raelynn, I do have some ideas for her. I want to do more threads with her and I have some ideas how to mess with her head. Without being too specific, I would like for her to fall pregnant (whether through consentual or not, I'm open to the choice) because restarts will maker her forget things, while only having flashes of things that happen in other threads. So if anyone is for that, let me know.- 61 replies

Preference sheet addition: sub/dom.
Neptune replied to Alexander Bodide's topic in EcchiMeta's Comments & Suggestions
To be honest, I've always wanted the preferences to be more than what they currently are. However we are pretty limited in what we can actually do. I have actually started a more expansive list of things we have missed out, including a bit more of a clear separation in regards to sub/dom. So I am certainly leaning towards agreement to this. I'll have to look at the work I've already done on this and talk to @Novaer about it. Seeing as he wants to talk to me about it, we can sit and have a nice discussion... maybe over some tea and crumpets xP -

Claire reacted immediately to the voice, whipping one of her revolvers from its holster and bringing it up to point towards the creature on her shoulder. She froze just short of pulling the trigger as a frown of confusion creased her eyebrows at the sight of a small coyote on her shoulder. Her eyes narrowed, "What the hell?" She asked to herself. Because that surely wasn't the animal talking. That was impossible. She switched her attention to include the surroundsing, however she couldn't see anything.
