This topic would mostly contain sketches, doodles, lines/colours and finished pieces, as well as some sort of descriptions for the images and insight as to how I do things when I draw. The topics would be pretty random and may vary depending on what I feel like doing and what is asked of me. As I do more sketches and doodles, I would be posting most, if not all, of them here. Though I'm not exactly sure of how to go about it yet (dear forum management, please kindly advise me on whether it would be okei for me to double post here, instead of having to edit my first post. Thank you. ^^). To start things off, I was asked by SMFoxy, as a sort of assignment, to do some sketches for ED. Anything in general, he said, and perhaps my take on a mascot for the website. So I started thinking about ideas I can use. As a warm up exercise, I compiled a few rough sketches of what comes to mind when I think of this site. 1st row, 1st image: EcchiDreams, to me, is first and foremost a community. 1st row, 2nd image: I'm not too sure this little sketch would make sense to a lot of people, but it's supposed to be something like the character creation option in some computer games. I used this image to represent roleplaying, since it's the site's main focus. 1st row, 3rd image: And lastly for this row, I think the website is a place to chill out. The second row is my take on EDs' roleplaying section. 2nd row, 1st image: I think this coloured sketch pretty much sums up that whatever species you pick for your character, it'd be treated equally (of course, that would depend on the plot you have for your character and such). 2nd row, 2nd and 3rd images: Both groups of sketches are just a derivative from the first sketch in this row. You can either just go for the ears-and-tail combo, or you could go for anthropomorphism. And last but not least, the third row shows the other features this website has to offer. 3rd row, 1st image: This would be my take of the 'Creative Writings' section. 3rd row, 2nd image: And this is the little doodle for the 'Gallery' section. 3rd row, 3rd image: The last image is for the 'Arcade'. I know I have missed some of the other features EcchiDreams has to offer, but this was just a little exercise I did to kick start the process. That might just be because I like [non-monetary] gambling and alcohol though, and it reminds me of a casino or something. xD But yes, keep it up. I might expand on the Playboy bunny girl since you like it so much, but it might take a back seat for now since I have started on the website mascot you've suggested before. KLKitty Posted August 24, 2013 Author Share Posted August 24, 2013 Heh, good question. ^^ I got the 'moleskine' (made a mistake with the spelling) from a real life reference. I've often heard of professional artists using moleskine sketchbooks to keep their sketches and drawings in. And since I think this thread is something like a sketchbook to me, I thought I'd call/name it 'moleskine' too. KLKitty Posted August 27, 2013 Author Share Posted August 27, 2013 After brainstorming for ideas and what to do for the imaginary website mascot SMFoxy suggested, I decided to to put together the process on how I normally come up with requested images. For this particular one, I compiled some sketches to show the different 'steps' on how I build the 'base'. That's exactly what I hoped this community would be all about; a place to chill out, unwind, with like minded and (hopefully) friendly people.Excellent work, KLKitty. I'll be following this thread; so I look forward to seeing more art - Even the non-EcchiDreams related stuff. :)I would also like your permission to share the first image along with your interpretations (With full credit to ED/DA (if you have one) to you of course share the art work with our followers and fans). And I'm glad you liked my interpretation of the site, even though they're just roughs. I'll continue working on the idea SMFoxy suggested, though it might take some time to update and such. I'm a little anxious/nervous about saying this, but yes, I'd be more than happy for you to use my work for EDs social sites. So as compensation, I'll be doing the final version of the Playboy bunny I sketched before. I'll also add other bits and pieces so it won't be as plain so... Hello everyone, hope I didn't make you wait for too long. ^^ I'm happy to announce that I have managed to make a few sketches/poses of the bunny girl that was in my very first set of sketch for ED. Now this batch is mostly themed around a bar/gambling area, since that's where I imagine most bunny girls would be working in. So I added in a couple of games and such along with the poses, with the help of SMFoxy of course. If you guys would like to see all these poses cleaned up and finished, please comment below. KLKitty Posted September 27, 2013 Author Share Posted September 27, 2013 Sooo... Since no one on here has suggested which pose I should do first, I decided to just pick one out at random. And the slot machine pose was the one I picked out. It's still in its rough sketch stage, but I've added a bit more detail to it and I've started laying down some colours to see if they'd gel well together. It needs a lot of work but I'd really appreciate it if you guys can give me some input on the piece. Just tell me what you like and don't like about it since after looking at this for so long, my brain's kind of muddled already. So any input would be greatly appreciated. ^^ EDIT: Progress for the sake of progress... *is currently watching Harry Potter*. Anyway, I thought I'd put this pic up to show how far I've gone with the doodle. There's still a lot of work to be done, mostly I need to clean the sketch and fix the lines. The colours are slowly adding up too, it just needs to be tweaked a little here and there. KLKitty Posted September 29, 2013 Author Share Posted September 29, 2013 Hello everyone! I'm pleased to say that I have already finished the Bunny Girl and Slots Machine picture. I tried jamming as much detail into it as I possibly can. It's not your traditional casino slots machine but I think the addition of the big red button made the picture more cartoon-like. I also tried incorporating some of EDs feel into the picture, as can be seen on the face plate and the gold coins. Again, it's not really accurate, but I tried. Over all I think it turned out pretty well, considering since when I first sketched the pose, I wasn't intending on doing a full line and colour of it. I hope everyone likes the picture. I've first came across and used them back in college and ever since then I've been using one. I still try and go back to using pencil and paper but it's not the same as using a tablet. I have no excuse, well, other than getting caught up with work and other things. Anyway, I still haven't had any progress with the Imaginary ED Mascot, but I have been working on something...
