Dust had settled on the mantle again. The tan skinned girl wrinkled her nose at the tiny cloud as she wiped the mantle of the fire place down. Mating season was coming upon them again and as she did before every season, Zaria was cleaning the nursery to get it ready for any new little ones just in case. It had been so long since she has seen pups run around this room and cause a ruckus. Despite not being that old herself, it had been quite some time since the last litter had dwelled within these walls. She was quite fond of pups and did crave to have some for herself, but the right mate had yet to present themselves so she held out.

Pulling herself from her thoughts, Zaria finished wiping the mantle down, replacing its contents to their previous spots. She moved to the cribs, wiping the rails down before replacing the bedding. She always put down some of the thicker quilts so the first night the new pups slept in their bed, they would be the most comfortable. It was a silly thought considering they wouldn't remember the feeling, but it gave her a gentle contentment. After wiping down the windows the she-wolf opened them, letting the fresh scent of the forest fill the room. If there would be pups after this mating season, they would grow to love the scent just as much as the rest of them.

Closing her eyes, Zaria took a deep breath and filled her lungs with the crisp air. A light wind washed in, blowing back the girl's long dark hair as if the indicate that it was glad to have been let in. The scent reminded her of the first time she ran through these woods after being accepted by the pack. She was barely over the age of 10 and she was allowed to take a run by herself. The scent of the forest filled her being as the wind rushed through her fur as she darted between bushes and around trees. She would take herself as far as her legs would let her. The freedom of running through forest as fast as she could, that exhilaration was something she would never grow out of to this day.

After a moment of standing at the window, Zaria let out a sigh and closed the window. Couldn't leave it open all the time, the bugs would get in and the heat out. After a quick sweep with her broom, she looked at her work. With a triumphant nod, she gathered the cleaning cleaning supplies. "That should do it." She declared and turned back towards the door. She needed to put this all back and get ready to go on patrol. Rava should be getting back any minute to trade with her so she needed to be ready to head out. Zaria closed the door behind her and walked down the hall to return the supplies to the cleaning closet.
