Watching the neko land out of the steaming pool as well, Hellhound dripped water from her fur that soon caused that to dry and evaporate quickly, now that she was out of the water finally. She could not take another chance of falling in there. Bearing an angry look ready for war, she still could not avoid a grin from the demon's fury, as if it was all a game. Her naked body was nothing but a deceiving invitation to a beast that could tear anything apart although she was still recovering a little from what had happened so far. Her breathing was slow now, her eyes locked on the one target to send back to hell, for fun for one but also to get rid of this annoyance for Akemi as she first had planned. Demons like her annoyed her.

The neko's eyes showing her true nature finally made Hellhound take a stance of battle, stomping the ground with enough force to crack the tiles around her paw, as if she was taunting her opponent. "You demons are all the same... Hmm, well, not ALL the same... You think you can dominate Hellhound? I am the one who plays, I don't let anyone play with me, especially not a demon.", she said in retaliation, putting some disgust in her tone with the final word, not caring how that neko might react to it. Any provocation would be a win to her. The hound really wanted a fight now. She died to break free from her usual reservation. Although, she had to be careful but no humans seemed to be around, at least for the moment.

Hellhound's eyes soon focused on what else moved around but still always kept her attention on the neko. Something was rising from the shadows... Now she was playing seriously, these monsters showing up summoned by this demon would definitely scare a human into complete submission, only to be completely dominated, but the hound only saw this like a bonus challenge, barely knowing what fear was as she usually was the one making others afraid. Still, she was not completely oblivious of possible danger in a battle and those did look like they would not just be easy to dismiss. The beast was going to taste pain if fear was not an option currently. There was no doubt she was not going to return to Akemi unscathed...

Unlike Hellhound, it looked like the neko was still a wet pussy and the beast girl still found herself to smile stupidly about it, even if the moment was far from appropriate right now. "Play...? I enjoy angering the ones who think that they're better than Hellhound. I will show you who is better!", she taunted before she started showing her hell beast side more, her fiery eyes soon burning brighter like flames before her fur started igniting with scorching fire as well. No clothes in the way to burn or be careful about. An aura of power emanated from her as she stepped away from the pool to make sure she is not subdued to it once more. She needed ground to unleash her power against that horde of monsters wanting her dead.

The sight of the Hellhound drying, the water evaporating instantly from her fiery fur, only fueled the Neko demon’s blinding fury. The contemptuous grin on the hound's face, the obvious amusement she took in the whole debacle, was an insult that demanded immediate, brutal repayment.
The Hellhound’s stomping challenge and her disdainful words about "demons" earned a sharp, ragged snarl from the Neko. "Play? This isn't a game, mongrel. This is your humiliation!" she spat, her voice ringing with true, unrestrained malice.
As the Hellhound's eyes began to blaze and her fur ignited into a scorching aura of pure hellfire, the shadowy feline sentinels responded instantly to the command.

With silent, predatory speed, the immense shadow cats lunged. They moved not as a coordinated unit, but as a vicious, swirling tide of darkness. Razor-sharp shadow claws tore at the tiles where the Hellhound stood, missing her flesh but sending ceramic shrapnel flying. One monster, larger and faster than the rest, managed to clip her shoulder with a blurring swipe, leaving a shallow, burning scratch that sealed instantly against the intense heat of her skin. Another lunged at her legs, attempting to force her to leap back.

The  sudden, multiple attacks, where a serious distraction, attention divided between the shadowy claws tearing at the air around her and the need to maintain her distance from the pool.
Seeing the opportunity, the Neko demon acted with the speed and precision of a true predator. Ignoring the growing, oppressive heat radiating from the Hellhound's blazing form—a heat that was making her own skin feel raw—she darted forward, a flash of pure speed.

Her hand shot out and clamped down on one of the Hellhound's breasts, and pinched her nipple hard. It was a crude, brutal grab, meant to be purely distracting and humiliating. She felt the soft bounce of the tissue beneath her fingers, and then, with the sheer terror of the escalating heat forcing her movement, she jerked her hand back violently, the skin on her palm already beginning to redden from the proximity to the unholy flame.

She sprang backward several feet, landing lightly despite the haste of her retreat, her soaked hair flying. She shook her stinging hand and glared at the Hellhound, who was now fully engaged in the fight against the shadow horde.  "Enjoy your new friends, Hellhound!" the Neko demon yelled over the sounds of scraping claws and crackling flame, her voice triumphant despite the pain. "They're just getting warmed up! And don't worry, I'll be back to claim my payment when they've finished playing with you!"

Her summoned shadow cats pressed the attack, trying to drive the Hellhound back further towards the pool, forcing her to expend valuable energy fighting the ephemeral beasts while the Neko demon retreated just out of range of the most intense heat.

Hellhound only looked happier as the neko seemed to take offense into her words. The malicious attitude was one too commonly seen with demons, one buffed by too much ego or arrogance. It was one of the thing that annoyed the hound the most, especially when it was directed at her casually like she was a meaningless pet to leash around. This one neko was way too focused on trying to make this one dog a pet to beat down only to satisfy herself but Hellhound was not going to just let her do what she wanted. As she almost drowned earlier, feeling her awakened form in all of its heat only felt better, besides the fact that she wanted to train to get stronger anyway. This was the perfect opportunity. Number didn't scare her.

The shadow cats were nothing but a game for her, not that she did not see them as a threat. But a threat to Hellhound just meant another game to play anyway, until she came out victorious or... dead. Those ones had a ferocious offense but the hound leaped back, seeing the pieces of tiles and floor fly out from the attack. The cat that did almost touch her was not alone, though. More came and tried their way at her, slashing at her. Even if she was hurt, pushing a grunt out of her, the intense inside and outside heat helped heal the wound back anyway but if her regeneration was impressive as a hell beast, she was not invincible. This game was going to be fun either way. Soon summoning flames in her hands, she soon fought back.

Doing what she had done back in the forest, she started casting her flames around even if nothing could really be ignited, except for the cats themselves. She would try to either make them back off, burn them or see if it even affected them. Otherwise, using the blasting light from the fire as distraction. It appeared that the neko also had the same idea, only differently. Hellhound was focused on the cats but only just saw her come at her. As strange of an attack as it was, the neko did not even aim to strike her but instead went for her breast, pinching the nipple as to display her arrogance again, only in the worst time possible for her. The violent pain that the demon felt from it managed to make the beast laugh a little, at the least.

The distraction otherwise almost had worked to get her hurt some more but Hellhound rapidly kicked whatever cats dared to come closer, almost overrun by the monsters of that cowardly demon. Even if she wanted to make a verbal attack at the neko, the monsters barely allowed her the time to focus on her right now, as she tried to either move around quick or block and get pushed back. Looking over to the back, she could see a bigger threat coming for what was her fiery form. Being extinguished now, if the pool did that, would be terrible for her. Mustering her strength, she started clawing the ground and push ahead before she leaped forward, spinning her body like a fire drill to get out of her predicament, landing further.

Hellhound was taking hits, giving some, but the monsters were not defeated that easily. It was time to do a little more. Grinning a bit, the hound formed more flames around her paws and started doing fiery slashes and kicks at her opponents but mainly tried to do her fire push attack at them if the opening came up, to try and burn them from inside with her palm against them. If an opening came up, she even went as far as casting one of her fireballs at the neko so she did not get bored waiting. "I'll get them warmed up...! Hellhound will burn all and every ones of them!", the beast spat out while she fought, as an answer to her. "When I'm done with them, you will be last!", she finally said, feeling spirited with the heat of battle.

The Neko demon, nursing her stinging palm just out of the extreme heat, watched the hound engage her summoned shadow cats. The fire-wrought movements, the powerful kicks that sent the ethereal creatures scattering, were impressive, yet utterly infuriating. The hound's first bursts of flame, cast with a practiced savagery, hit their mark. The deep, hellish heat was anathema to the shadow constructs. Where the flames touched, the dense darkness instantly fractured and boiled away. Two of the smaller shadow cats, caught by a wide swath of fire, shrieked a soundless, visual wail as their forms dissipated into wisps of nothingness, leaving only faint, smoky residue on the tiles.
But the Neko demon was adapting. She noticed that the Hellhound’s flames, while destructive, were intensely bright.

Her eyes, still narrowed with predatory focus, flickered to the intense, dancing light emanating from the Hellhound's blazing form and the fire she was casting. Light, even light made of fire, casts shadow. And shadows, especially hers, were now a weapon. With a graceful, serpentine motion of her hands, the Neko demon began to stretch the shadows themselves. The deep, heavy shadows clinging to the edge of the pool and the walls of the room moved, drawn by her will toward the intense light source. The new shadows were thicker, more resilient, and acted like a thick, dark, suffocating blanket. They didn't extinguish the flames entirely, but they began to envelop the area, containing the spread of the fire and preventing the room from bursting into a conflagration. "No burning the furniture, puppy!" she sneered, her voice laced with mock authority.

"Such predictable defiance," the Neko purred, a dark smile playing on her lips. "But your distraction is my advantage." Focusing on the thickest part of the shadow she had just conjured, she wrenched a massive, solidified piece of it away from the wall. The shadow snapped into a new form in her hands, a colossal, tightly rolled tube of solid darkness, shaped like an old, over-sized newspaper. It was heavy, dense, and utterly non-flammable. With a flick of her wrist, and a bounce in ber breasts, she launched one end of the massive Shadow Newspaper at the Hellhound.

It wasn't a complex magical attack, but a weaponized object of pure physical force. The newspaper spun end-over-end, aimed straight at the Hellhound’s exposed flank as the hound was momentarily pushing back one of the last remaining shadow cats. It slammed into the side of her ass with the impact of a solid wooden club, eliciting a sharp thwack that echoed on the rooftop. Still trying to knock her towards the pool.

"A simple lesson in obedience!" the Neko yelled, her voice crisp and cruel. "Bad dogs get the paper!"

Of all things, Hellhound was not expecting much out of that demon. Her focus was on the monsters she fought at first and she was winning, for the most. As simple as this looked to be, she thought herself almost done with all this and she could take care of that demon once and for all. However, the neko had found a plan that nowhere in the hound's imagination would she have thought about it. While she was burning intensely with power in its pure energy, in a form she was still grinding to awaken more and more, her own cast shadows was soon to be made enemies of hers. It was not difficult to notice the little trick but to understand it was something else for her.

What the shadows did to the flames around was enough to tell her that this did not sound good but she could not stay still as the few monsters still kept her busy. As expected, the neko kept an attitude of superiority toward her, something that she would fix soon or later. What could plan other than burning herself against her now scorching hot fur and onyx skin? Her fiery eyes looked as curious as she was annoyed by her attempt to win this game still. The problem was that this neko started gaining too much confidence. This did not bode well but since it was a demon, chances were that it was nothing but bluff and an attempt at flaunting some imaginary superiority at her.

With some shadow forming out of that strange creation, a sort of tube appeared and while Hellhound did not exactly get the newspaper reference of it, what she saw was a blunt weapon of sort that would be used against her. Right now, she had to act fast otherwise let the demon think she might have the upper hand. Fighting one of the cats, she was not going to avoid being hit easily unless... As quickly as possible, Hellhound gave up her fight and moved down to the ground, flattening herself against it as much as possible. If the neko's arrogance fueled her attack, maybe the weaponised shadow would miss her AND hit the cat at the same time, however that worked.

"And bad demons get what? Claws and burns? I did not care about fighting a boring demon but you pushed Hellhound to want to punish you.", she playfully replied, spinning herself back on her paws after the attack passed. Her pride spoke loud, not having the strategic mind of that neko but rather moving based on strength and instinct alone, along with what fiery storm she might just unleash on her enemies. "You're annoying, already... I will turn you into ashes so I can go back to eat delicious food. Akemi will be proud of me and reward me, too!", she continued, her tail even wagging a bit as she spoke, her flames dancing around from her tail, paws and even her hair.

The Hellhound’s instinctual dive saved her from the full impact of the massive shadow weapon. She dropped to the ground with startling speed, the colossal Shadow Newspaper whipping over her back with a dark whoosh and slamming into the last, lingering shadow cat with a sickening, solid crunch. The impact, channeled through pure shadow force, instantly flattened and disintegrated the monster, scattering its smoky residue across the wet tiles. The sudden shift in her movement, and the successful elimination of the final cat, drew a surprised frown from the Neko demon.

Hellhound sprung back up, her body glowing with fiery defiance, and her wagging tail a bizarre counterpoint to the fury in her eyes. Her taunts about punishment and reward struck a nerve.
"You speak of punishment? You’re delusional, dog! I’ve barely begun to educate you!" the Neko snarled, her frustration mounting as she realized her creative, dominating tactics were only feeding the Hellhound’s combat high. The cat demon discarded the remaining husk of the shadow weapon. Her expression hardened, her movements becoming less theatrical and more ruthlessly efficient. She decided to press the advantage with speed and precision, banking on the Hellhound’s size and focusing on debilitating strikes rather than flashy dominance.

The Neko darted forward, blurring across the room with inhuman velocity. Her claws extended, dark talons of hardened keratin, and she aimed a lightning-fast rake at the Hellhound’s burning eyes, a direct, targeted attack designed to momentarily blind her. The hound had reacted not by thinking, but by flaring her aura. Before the Neko’s claws could connect, the Hellhound roared, releasing a wave of pure heat that momentarily doubled in intensity. The Neko's skin screamed in protest, forcing her to violently pull her arm back, leaving her attack short. The brief pause was all the Hellhound needed. Driven by brute force, she swung a fiery, backhand swipe, a massive arc of searing power, that clipped the Neko’s shoulder. The cat demon cried out, her momentum broken. The heat didn't just burn; it felt like a heavy, physical blow. She tumbled backward, skidding on the damp tiles.

The Neko scrambled to her feet, her breathing labored. She could not match the hound’s sustained heat output, nor her raw strength. She needed a new tactic. Remembering the hound’s weakness, she summoned a quick spell, pushing the water level of the pool up with a giant hand summoned from shadow, not enough to overflow, but enough to create a sudden, slick spray. Simultaneously, she lashed out with her tail, a thick, prehensile weapon ending in a spiked tip, trying to trip the hound with a low swep while she was distracted by the spray.

The water spray momentarily obscured her vision. As the Neko’s tail swept low, the Hellhound simply jumped, clearing the tail with a powerful, graceful leap. Mid-air, she pivoted and slammed both of her fire-infused paws down in a concussive strike right where the Neko was trying to pull back her tail.

The impact was devastating. The Neko felt the ground shake as the Hellhound landed, trapping the tip of her tail for a split second beneath the searing weight. With a pained, guttural shriek, the Neko demon wrenched her tail free, the spikes smoking slightly where the fire had touched them. She was now visibly shaking, her earlier composure completely shattered. Her elegant attire was torn, her movements losing their smooth coordination, and the raw, untamed power of the Hellhound was clearly overwhelming her carefully crafted maneuvers.

The cat-girl was on the back foot, breathing heavily, malice giving way to a flicker of genuine alarm.

Hellhound saw that the demon was starting to get more fierce. Finally, she would be met with some challenge from the neko now. "Edu... cate? Why do you demons always speak weird words? If you want a fight, you're the last one I can take on, now!", she taunted her with silly manners but once she saw the the neko rush at her incredibly fast, her eyes widened before an instant later, she would react by instinct to block with her arms but also overloads with power and heat. like she was startled to do so. Whether the attack connected with her or not, her anger and energy overload was soon unleashed and her hands burned bright with scorching flames from her palms before she punched with a fiery might at the neko. Soon, her energy calmed down again as she observed what the demon was up to, panting a little from how much energy she used.

Obviously, that dumb demon was not done yet. Her ears twitched as she looked toward the pool. If the hound could not be pushed inside as the neko wished, it looked like she was going to try to bring the water to her. This battle was fun but was starting to be exhausting. She never had spent this much energy before and much of it was new out of survival struggle and getting hurt while playing. The tail stabbed toward her and at the last second, she leaped sideways, rolling against the floor a bit to only leap fast on her legs once more to use her front paws in a push motion to blast against the demon in an attempt to strike back before she is herself struck, at the same time spinning and kicking down at her quickly if she had the time, only to stomp down against her in a blast of flames against the floor if her combo worked, leaving her on top.

Her naked body standing there, if the assault went as it seemed, emanated heat that caused any water to vaporize with sizzling sound, her hair, tail and worse, hands and feet, flickered with flames while she was herself panting heavier. The battle was causing a toll on her due to how much she had to fight so far but also due to her complete lack of control on her power. She had gone all out with the only goal of unleashing destruction upon her opponent, not caring if it caused serious harm. Unfortunately, this also made her look like a hellish monster out for blood if any humans saw it, with how bright she was. At this moment, especially naked, she would probably punish this neko by other means but this one had pushed her to have wishes of annihilation toward her. If the neko wanted a monster, she now had freed one who only wanted to kill her.

The Neko demon's ears flattened against her head as she watched the Hellhound react to the attempted tail sweep. The hound didn't just evade; she utilized the movement, rolling to gain momentum before launching into a violent counter-attack. The Hellhound’s counter was a blur of raw, unleashed fury. First, the dual-paw blast of searing heat slammed into the Neko, forcing a choked gasp and breaking her defensive stance. Before the Neko could recover, the Hellhound’s follow-up kick snapped out, driving into the demon’s ribs with the force of a battering ram. The Neko crumpled, and the final, crowning blow, a massive, fiery stomp came down. The Hellhound’s foot landed square on the Neko’s midsection. It wasn't just weight, it was an explosive burst of pure, hellish flame focused downward. The impact cracked more tiles, and the resultant thermal shock was intense. The force of the final fiery stomp, coupled with the raw heat, had one immediate, embarrassing side effect: the Neko demon’s remaining tattered clothing, was instantly shredded and blasted away into smoking wisps, leaving her entirely exposed beneath the Hellhound.

The cat demon was momentarily stunned, pinned beneath the agonizing weight and the searing heat. She looked up at the Hellhound, and saw the shift in the hound's eyes. The earlier playful aggression was gone, replaced by a terrifying, focused predatory intent. This wasn't a game to her anymore; she had awakened the beast.

Despite the pain and the sheer domination, the Neko demon refused to concede. Her mind, fueled by instinct, immediately seized on the Hellhound’s exhausted state. She thought the hound was running on fumes, that intense exertion taking a severe toll.

With a desperate, guttural roar of her own, the Neko demon channeled the last of her strength. Her hands shot up, covered in shadow shielding her from heat, seizing the Hellhound’s ankles—the only part of the hound she could reach securely. Utilizing a powerful, acrobatic burst of core strength despite the crushing weight on her stomach, she didn't try to push her off; she tried to launch her. Grunting through the pain, she threw her entire body upward, trying to use her own powerful legs to execute a massive, explosive inverted lift, intending to send the glowing, fiery beast flying high into the air.

"Get off me!" she screamed, the effort contorting her features into a mask of pain and desperate rage.

Hellhound stood as still as she could, wondering for a second if she was simply going to finish her like this. A demon cornered by a hell hound who was forged by the flames of the underworld, a beast on top of her who was yearning for her death without seeing potential consequences. Her focus entirely on her target, which her soft paw pressed on. "I told you that I would kill you...!", she spat out in anger. Demons always pushed her around. Those who knew better left her alone... Some powerful demons otherwise, while they could probably force their control upon her, saw only a lazy beast doing nothing most of the day except play and eat. The neko helped her unleash her rage.

This was no mere village to burn but a real opponent trying to hurt her, damage her pride, possibly slay her down. One that challenged her enough for her to push her limits. Her monstrous side and the meaning of what was a hellhound came back to the surface in a fit of fury. This was not mere cat versus dog but a neko demon with real powers versus a puppy with nothing but sheer and very blistering strength. "Why did you not shut up...? Your place is in hell! Go back and stay there!", she ordered, not realizing that she also was a beast from hell that did not exactly belong on the surface either. It seemed however that the demon was not entirely done,, mustering her last strengths.

Feeling her ankle being grabbed, Hellhound was not sure what she would do but the dog girl found herself thrown off upward, forcing her in the air. But the hound had a final trick up her sleeve, one she had previously used for show, to prove that she had a use to a certain bunny if she was given a fight to remember. Times had slightly changed since her temporary defeat at the hand of a magical girl. That fight would come again another day... For now, she could not lose this one. Charging her hellfire in her palm, it was time for hellscape. It didn't matter if she missed. As she went down, Hellhound pushed down, discharging her energy into an explosion all around the entire roof.

The Neko demon’s eyes widened in a moment of pure terror. She had expected the Hellhound to flail, to fall, to be momentarily neutralized by the sudden loss of ground. Instead, she watched as the glowing, naked beast became a conduit for something far more ancient and destructive than a simple fire-breath.

As the Hellhound reached the apex of her arc, the air around her didn't just heat up, it almost seemed to fracture to the demon.

The discharge was instantaneous. A supernova of flames erupted, expanding in a spherical shockwave that consumed the entire rooftop. The Neko demon, still reeling on the ground and completely exposed, had no shield and nowhere to run. The blast hit her like a physical wall of firey force. She was thrown backward, her skin scorched by the unnatural heat that ignored her own demonic resistances. A scream of genuine agony tore from her throat as the Hellscape turned the luxury rooftop into an inferno. The remaining shadows she had commanded were incinerated instantly, leaving her alone in the searing light. Battered, bleeding from dozens of small heat fractures, and shivering with the shock of the overwhelming power, the Neko demon scrambled toward the edge of the roof. Her arrogance was gone, replaced by a desperate, frantic need to survive. With one last, hateful look over her scorched shoulder at the falling hound, she dissolved into a tattered, flickering shadow and plummeted off the side of the building, fleeing into the city below, trailing a smoke cloud.

The roar of the flames faded, leaving only the hiss of evaporating pool water and the scent of ozone and burnt stone. The rooftop was a ruin of cracked tiles and smoldering embers. The heavy door to the roof creaked open.

Akemi stepped out into the haze, her eyes widening as she took in the scorched landscape. She didn't look at the damage to the building, her gaze went straight to the naked, shivering form of the hound in the center of the soot. She rushed forward, ignoring the lingering heat of the floor, and slid onto her knees. Without a word of reproach for the destruction, Akemi reached out and gathered the heavy, powerful beast into her arms, pulling the Hellhound's head against her chest.

"I've got you," Akemi whispered, her voice a soothing balm. She stroked the singed fur of the hound’s head, her touch gentle and grounding.
"Where did that demon go?" Akemi asked softly, looking around the empty, ruined roof before looking back down at the demon in her lap. She pressed a small, affectionate kiss to the top of the hound's head. "It doesn't matter now. You did it. You're such a good girl, protecting everyone like that. Are you hurt?"

After the explosion sourced from her anger was finally over, Hellhound stood back on her feet and looked around, smiling weakly to herself. She had won, seemingly. The neko could only be noticed for a short moment, falling off the building before her own smile disappeared, her flames reduced until they were extinguished, only leaving her fur affected by it all. Her body fell limply on the roof, exhausted by all of the energy spent in fighting and regenerating. For a moment, all she could hear was a peaceful silence in her closest surrounding, only disturbed by what cries of panic the humans made further in the distance, possibly added to the sound of sirens if anyone came to check the damage she had done.

For once, Hellhound felt cold. She probably was not dying even if the wounds she felt might have killed a normal human. She was strong but to feel her body shiver was not something she had felt often at all. The intense heat from before had evaporated any water that might have clung to her fur or skin but anything else touching or falling upon her now would probably stay. Looking up to the sky while she was breathing slowly, the beast contemplated what had just happened before. A battle, a victory but so much damage. Her face winced as she felt like she was going to be in serious trouble but there was no escape in her state. If a human wanted to slay her, now probably was the moment to do so easily.

Her ear twitched faintly as she heard a creaking noise and her eyes alone rolled to look toward the sound. The sight alone could have stopped her heart while her emotions were torn between worry and happiness but even her tail was too worn out to move even an inch. She was not sure what was going to happen now but she didn't say anything just yet either, watching Akemi's reaction. Seeing her kneel down near her then pick her up into her arms almost brought an uncommon emotion to her. Hellhound's head leaned against her chest, feeling a little better already. A different kind of warmth than she was used to. Not one fueled by heat or fighting, at least. It still did not stop her shivering but she smiled.

Akemi's voice finally speaking made the hound happy, the words felt protective and reassuring. She was not sure why she felt her eyes grow wet but she did not question it for now, enjoying the touch. She was not sure what to answer for the question, assuming that the neko might have died or gone back to hell. As Akemi's kiss was felt on her head, the hound finally shed a tear, hearing her next words. "I'm a good girl... I did it...", she repeated, proud of herself, soon looking at Akemi. Her body was not in a perfect state right now and some wounds or trauma may not have healed fully just yet. "I cannot move except for this shaking... Hellhound will not be punished, right...?", she risked asking, wishing for food.

The smoke cleared slowly, leaving the two of them as a small island of calm amidst the ruin of the rooftop. Akemi didn't seem to care about the soot staining her own clothes or the distant wail of sirens drawing closer. Her entire world had narrowed down to the shivering, exhausted creature in her lap.

Akemi adjusted her seat on the cracked tiles, pulling the Hellhound closer until the demon’s heavy head was pressed firmly against the center of her chest. Through the thin fabric of Akemi's top, the Hellhound could hear it, the rhythmic, rapid thrum-thrum of a human heart racing with a mix of leftover adrenaline and overwhelming relief. Akemi stroked the back of the hound’s neck, her fingers tracing the path where the fiery fur had finally cooled.

"Shhh, look at me," Akemi murmured, her voice thick with an emotion she wasn't trying to hide anymore. She shifted her arm, wrapping it tightly around the Hellhound’s waist, anchoring her. Now vulnerable in the arms of the girl she had fought so hard to protect.

Akemi tilted the Hellhound’s chin up, forcing those flickering, weary eyes to meet her own. "You aren't in trouble. You’re a hero. You protected the city from something truly nasty. There is no punishment for that, only whatever you want to eat when we get home. I promise."

The air between them seemed to change, growing heavy with a different kind of heat than the Hellscape. Akemi’s gaze searched the Hellhound’s face, lingering on the soot-smudged cheeks and the raw honesty in her eyes. Her heartbeat, already fast, skipped a beat and then doubled its pace, a frantic drum against the hound's ear. Akemi leaned in closer, the scent of smoke and ozone giving way to the soft, floral scent of her hair. Her lips parted slightly, trembling just a fraction. The world around them, the sirens, the ruined pool, the cold night air, simply passed beyond register.

Slowly, deliberately, Akemi closed the distance. It was a soft, lingering kiss, fueled by the sheer weight of everything they had just endured. It wasn't the kiss of a master to a pet, but something far more passionate and equal. Akemi’s hand moved to cup the Hellhound’s cheek, her thumb grazing the demon’s skin with a tenderness that made the shivering finally stop. When she eventually pulled back, just an inch, her face was flushed, her eyes shimmering with a fierce, protective love.

"My good girl," she whispered against her lips.

Realizing they couldn't stay much longer before the authorities arrived, Akemi stood, bracing herself. Despite being much smaller, she found a surge of strength, hooking her arms under the Hellhound’s knees and back. With a grunt of effort, she hoisted the exhausted demon into a bridal carry, navigating the debris with careful steps.

Akemi hurried through the back service stairs, avoiding the main lobby. She reached her car in the darkened parking garage, gently laying the Hellhound across the backseat and covering her with a spare jacket. The drive was a blur of city lights until they reached the familiar, warm glow of her father’s restaurant. As she pulled into the back alley, Akemi looked into the rearview mirror at the Hound. "We're home."

Hellhound quieted down, seeming to hear the heartbeat well. A thing that made Akemi very human even if she herself also had a beating heart. She looked up at Akemi when asked, remaining silent but listening, feeling more relaxed by the quiet but pounding rhythm. The feeling of the girl on the skin of her waist made her shiver for different reasons but it was a good feeling. If there was any human who she would have wanted to see after this fight for her life but also for other humans, it was her. The hound could easily sleep right there but now was not quite the best time for that, even though what she heard was music to her hear. She still was not sure if she was dying or recovering from the battle.

Being told that she was a hero shook her, making her eyes widen as she stared at Akemi. A title she thought only applied to magical humans defeating their enemies, demons or others... Hellhound was not seen in any other way but a monster most of the time. A creature to fear or fight but not without any reasons. She provoked humans to fear her quite a few times but this time, she protected the city or so she was told. She might have damaged some parts of it with her movements or her attacks. Being fair, the Neko had done a part of it as well. Nasty did fit her quite well. A smile drew on her lips as she was promised all the food that she wanted. Home. That sounded nice. A reward for being so good.

Hellhound listened quite closely to Akemi's ever-changing heartbeat but could not tell what any of it meant. It was highly possible that she was not realizing how her own had been fluctuating a bit as well since this exchange had started. It became worse when Akemi closed in, her scent became easier to detect in the dirty air of the roof. Her lips moving as her face moved closer made Hellhound look a little nervous. A feeling she could not explain. Once the kiss connected, the hound closed her eyes and while unseen, a small hint of wagging coursed through her tail, moving only so little with what was left of its strength. The beast girl appeared to melt while it lasted, enjoying it like it meant something.

By the time Akemi pulled back, the tail already had become inert, leaving no hint of its movement. Being called her good girl, however, made Hellhound happy. Her eyes opened again, taking a good look at the girl she now felt far more loyal to. A feeling that no demon ever stirred in her. "Akemi... Thank you...", she replied to her, glad to have met her, even if in less than happy circumstances. She managed to make her feel tame without hurting her pride... There was another word for it but the hound didn't quite understand it fully yet. The flushed face of Akemi at that moment made her smile to her and pull a quick kiss as answer. For her, it meant a mutual affection, for her, toward this special human.

At the end, however, Hellhound found herself lifted up. Something else that she had not expected from her friend. Her body held by the girl so she can carry her out of that ruined roof. All she could do was wait and enjoy the ride, which ended at Akemi's machine. The hound was placed comfortable on the seat and even given a blanket of sort, though. A comfortable ride back toward her home, allowing her to get a well deserved rest. At the end of it, when told that they were home, Hellhound managed to move a little to push herself up, her muscles shaking in need of rest. The jacket had slid off her body as she moved. "Let's go eat...!", she replied, half excited. The hound patiently waited for the door.

The purple and gold hues of a Yokohama dusk settled over the city, casting long, dramatic shadows across the narrow alleyway behind the restaurant. The wail of sirens was distant now, a fading memory of the chaos on the rooftop. Akemi turned off the engine, the sudden silence of the car feeling heavy and intimate. She stepped out, her legs still feeling like lead, and made her way to the back door.

As the door swung open, the cool evening air rushed in. Hellhound pushed herself up, the borrowed jacket sliding down her charcoal-toned shoulders to pool on the seat. Akemi reached in to help her, but as her eyes raked over the hound’s naked, powerful, and soot-stained form, a deep crimson flush crept up her neck and settled in her cheeks. Even after everything, the raw, unearthly beauty of the beast was enough to make her breath hitch.

"Easy, easy," Akemi whispered, sliding an arm around the hound’s waist to steady her. She guided the shivering demon out of the car, the hound’s skin still radiating a fading, natural warmth. "Just a few more steps. We’re safe now."

They limped toward the back entrance of the restaurant, the familiar scent of simmering dashi, ginger, and roasted pork belly drifting out to meet them, a stark contrast to the smell of ozone and burnt stone they had left behind.

Inside, the kitchen was a whirlwind of steam and clattering pans. Hikaru, Akemi’s father, was hunched over a wok, his movements a practiced dance of fire and steel. He didn't look up at first.
"Akemi? You’re late, the dinner rush is..."

He stopped mid sentence as he turned. The spatula nearly slipped from his hand. He stared, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape, at the sight of his daughter supporting a tall, soot covered, and entirely naked demon woman in the middle of his pristine kitchen. For a long, breathless moment, the only sound was the sizzle of oil.

"Dad," Akemi said, her voice cracking slightly with exhaustion. "A... from across the street... a demon attacked us. She chased it away, to a roof. She fought it off. She saved many lives."

The shock on Hikaru's face instantly dissolved into a look of profound, paternal alarm, followed quickly by a deep, somber respect, and a little something else. He didn't ask questions about the nudity or the scorched tiles, he had beennjsed to this sort of thing wife Akemi's lafe mother. He simply reacted.
He grabbed a clean, thick wool blanket from a storage shelf and draped it gently over the Hellhound’s shoulders, tucking it around her to cover her. He didn't wish to lewd, but the hounds body distracted him uncovered.

"Thank you," Hikaru said, his voice low and vibrating with genuine gratitude as he looked the Hellhound in the eye. "My daughter is everything to me. If you fought for her... then you are family here. You sit. You rest. I will cook you anything you want. The finest cuts, the richest broth, name it, and it's yours."
Akemi didn't let go. She reached down and took the Hellhound’s hand, lacing their fingers together tightly. She stood so close their shoulders touched, a silent declaration of loyalty that didn't need words.

"What do you want first, hero?" Akemi asked softly, her eyes searching the hound's face with that same lingering, passionate warmth from the rooftop. "The kitchen is officially at your command."

Hellhound looked at Akemi with a puzzled look, still not good with understanding the way she was looked at sometimes, especially this case being Akemi who quietly enjoyed the sight of her. Seeing her alone made the hound happy but she waited that she was helped before trying anything to get out of the car. Seeing the familiar place meant she was safe now. No needs to fight anymore, at least for this day. Her natural warmth kept herself and hopefully Akemi warm enough to last until they could rest. The girl holding her kept her going, at least. She was exhausted but she held on, knowing what she was looking like but her state was mostly for this human's eyes. The few steps lead them inside the kitchen.

The scent in there revived Hellhound's spirit a little. The reward was right there... The smell of food meant that she would soon get some for herself. All of what she wanted. The voice of the father made her focus toward him at first, not too worried about her look until he stopped talking and she only became more puzzled, her head quietly turning to look between the man and his daughter. The sound heard inside the kitchen was a nice distraction but there was a tension and she could feel it, not liking how it felt. Akemi's voice finally broke the silence and the resulting words were praising her for having done good. A subtle movement of tail could be seen whole Hellhound smiled weakly but proudly in support.

She was still being cautious when he came closer, not used to human approach her a lot. It was not like there was anything she could do if he had decided to hurt her but the actual outcome was pleasant. For a beast like her to be covered with a blanket, the softness of it was actually appreciated and it allowed her warmth to stay warm. Taking a moment to really feel its touch, Hellhound stopped and stared at the father when he looked at her eyes, blinking quietly. He explained how important Akemi was to him but also implied something demons never did for her. Not only that, she would be rewarded with all the best food she wanted, shifting her expression to a childishly excited one, looking forward to this.

Soon feeling the hand of Akemi, lacing her fingers with her own, Hellhound tried to behave as she eyed her again. What could she want? Meat? That sounded delicious but too simple. She looked troubled, not knowing the name of anything the humans ate. Even if she wanted to, she was at a loss and didn't know much, making her whimper quietly. Her hand squeezed Akemi's with her beastly fingers but she made sure not to hurt her. Her ears flattened on her head, begging for her to decide something for her. She had formed a trust with this human, a bind that connected her to her in ways a demon and no humans would ever be. Even if she was a pet dog to humans, she still wanted to be this best good girl.

Akemi felt the squeeze of those powerful, Hellhound fingers, a grip that could crush stone, yet was being held with such hesitant care. She squeezed back firmly, a silent promise of safety. Meeting her father’s gaze, she gave a single, solemn nod. No more words were needed, the bond between them understood the gravity of what had happened.

Hikaru moved with a renewed, singular focus. He pulled his finest cuts of Wagyu from the cooler, marbling so intricate it looked like lace. The kitchen soon filled with the intoxicating, rich aroma of rendering fat as the steaks hit the searing heat of the pan. He worked quickly, tossing a generous portion of rice in a wok with a heavy hand of garlic butter, the grains dancing and browning until they were perfectly fragrant. When the plate was set before the Hellhound, it was a masterpiece of Japanese culinary gratitude. The steak was sliced thin, glistening and perfectly seared, resting atop a mountain of golden, buttery rice. A small dish of savory teriyaki sauce sat on the side.

Hikaru stood tall, then slowly bent at the waist in a deep, formal bow.
"Thank you," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "For everything."
With that, he turned back to the steaming woks, his hands moving to fulfill the orders of the customers out front, giving the two of them a moment of semi-privacy in the back of the house.

Akemi didn't ask for a feast for herself. She simply found a single plum rice ball-umeboshi onigiri, unwrapping the seaweed with delicate hands. She sat beside the Hellhound, the contrast between the meals a testament to her priorities. They ate in a comfortable, healing silence, the only sounds being the clatter of the kitchen and the distant hum of the city.

Once they had eaten, Akemi could sense a rhythmic exhaustion in Hellhound. She helped her stand. The blanket remained draped around the demon's shoulders like a royal cape as they navigated the stairs to the apartment above. The home was a classic Yokohama residence, modest but efficiently spaced. The living area opened up to a large window that offered a stunning, sparkling view of the Yokohama skyline, the Ferris wheel in the distance glowing like a neon jewel against the black velvet of the night.

Akemi led her into her bedroom. The space was minimalist and impeccably neat, reflecting Akemi’s organized nature. The walls were pure white, adorned with a large print of The Great Wave off Kanagawa on one side and a classic black-and-white Seven Samurai poster on the other. Her bed was neat, inviting setup. Nestled against the pillows was a small, black Jiji plush from Kiki’s Delivery Service, its large white eyes staring blankly into the room. A solitary, slightly faded photograph of a much younger Akemi, flanked by her father and a beautiful woman with a kind smile, her mother.

Akemi guided the Hellhound to the center of the bed, the mattress dipping under the demon’s weight. She pulled the covers up, tucking the edges around the Hellhound with meticulous care. "You were so fierce today," Akemi whispered, sitting on the edge of the mattress. The cool city light spilled into the room, silhouetting her feminine frame. She reached out, her hand resting gently on the Hellhound’s shoulder, her touch soft and comforting. "I’m so proud of you." She leaned over, brushing a stray lock of hair from the Hellhound’s forehead, her eyes reflecting the city lights and a deep, quiet affection. "You've never belonged anywhere have you?"

Hellhound watched the two communicate silently, leading to a mutual understanding between them and a delicious looking meal being cooked. The smell of food was something that humans seemed to have mastered so well and she could not get enough of it. She might have been excited about it but she did her best to wait patiently while at least watching him work. He was doing so much but her, a hell beast who never really made friends with anyone before. This felt so different from having to get up every now and then to hunt on her own for food. Sitting in the back to be served such a fine meal made by human hands to her felt like a gift. Hikaru thanked her again and she could only smile to him.

The better part of it then came as the hound tasted a piece of meat and instantly emitted a yummy sound. She figured that everything that was in front of her was hers to try and taste as she liked. Before she tried the sauce however, Hellhound went for some of the rice first and probably could melt right there from the mix of tastes. Once she finally tried the teriyaki, she looked completely satisfied, feelings running through her mind that she could barely process. Her eyes looked like a mix of sad and happy but she remained quiet if not for what little sounds she made as she ate everything, not letting any bit of food behind. This had been one of the best rewards she was ever given and it probably showed.

Once done, Akemi moving to help her stand told her that it was time to go. Quietly, Hellhound followed her, curiously watching her surrounding as they moved upstairs. The view of outside reminded her what had happened today. Something that hopefully would be left behind her now... Still, it was a good view she did not have the chance to see often. She was not often inside human cities, after all. Being led to the bedroom next, some new sights there got her attention. The Great Wave oddly made her wonder where she could see something like this, not being a creature who went close to water often. The samurai poster felt different but she quickly understood that it was a photo and not tiny humans.

The black jiji plush seemed to be what startled Hellhound the most. It was small and not dangerous looking but the concept of a plush was new to her, even if she may have seen other ones before. It was not alive but the beast could not know if it was not a pet, another demon or just some magical creature owned by Akemi. It took her a moment to stop staring at it, figuring it might not move after all. She still was not trusting it just yet. The photo of a younger Akemi made her ponder how humans did that, to frame a memory by some magic means. She recognized the girl who stood with her and the man who gave her a perfect meal but not the other human with them. Maybe she was somewhere close.

Once Akemi helped her to the bed, making her lay down, Hellhound finally felt comfortable. Her body gave in and did not move anymore, letting the bed hold her. "I was. Playing is fun.", she replied to the girl sitting near her, not hiding that she liked to fight, especially when allowed to do so freely. It was a rough fight and humans could have been hurt from it but all went rather well. Akemi was proud of her. This alone meant a lot for her. The next words shifted Hellhound's expression to a sadder state, making her realize how lonely she really was or had been. Slowly, she shook her head. "Hellhound belongs in hell... It's my home..." She spoke weakly but did not look like she really wanted to go back there.

The city lights of Yokohama shimmered through the window, casting long, cool shadows across the bed where the Hellhound lay. The silence of the apartment was a heavy, healing thing, broken only by the steady, tired rhythm of their breathing.
Akemi didn't look away when the Hellhound spoke of Hell. She didn't flinch at the word "home" being attached to a place of eternal fire and shadow. Instead, her brown eyes, deep and piercing with an old, quiet understanding, locked onto the Hellhound’s gaze.

Akemi slowly, gently shook her head, a soft, sad smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. She didn't need a thousand words to dismantle the hound's lifetime of conditioning.
"They say home is where the heart is," Akemi whispered, her voice barely louder than the hum of the city outside. "Is your heart really in Hell? After today... after everything... is there someone who would miss you if you were gone? Do you truly believe that’s where you belong?"

She didn't wait for an answer. She reached out, her small, warm palm moving through the dim light. She didn't place it on the hound's shoulder or her hand. Instead, she pressed her hand flat against the Hellhound’s left breast, directly over the heavy, thumping rhythm of her heart.

The contact was electric, a human hand, fragile but certain, resting against the onyx skin of a beast. Akemi could feel life beneath her palm, the drum of a warrior who had fought not for malice, but for protection. "I think you belong right here," Akemi said softly.

The room seemed to shrink until there was nothing left but that touch and the weight of that sentence. Akemi’s eyes didn't waver, they were full of a fierce, quiet certainty that the Hellhound was more than her origin, more than her species. There, in that room, we the Jiji stuffy watching, surrounded by memories and art, the monster from the underworld was being told she was exactly where she was meant to be.
Akemi leaned forward just an inch more, her thumb tracing a small, comforting arc against the hound's skin.

"Sleep," she breathed. "I'll be right here when you wake up." She started to remove her own shirt, folding it away neatly. Next she stood and undressed further. Lastly she unclasps her bra letting it fall away. In only her tight white panties, that left the exquisite curves of her ass revealed, she climbed into bed with Hellhound, and snuggled up to her, holding the Hound's head to her chest, in a warm embrace. "You belong with me."

Hellhound's eyes focused on Akemi as she listened to her words. She could not really understand what it meant for her home to be where her heart was because all she knew was that her heart was in her chest but her chest was not her home. The questions and the explanations that came afterwards gave it more sense and made her think but she had to admit that hell might not be her home after all. Not a single demon would miss her. Hellhound did not enjoy herself there as much as she did in the last days with Akemi, even from the first time the both had fought. Whatever pain she had went through with their battle or the next had been worth the trouble and she would do it again for the sake of happiness.

Akemi moved her hand before she could really say anything, placing it on her breast, feeling warm and good against her skin but one vital part of this action was her body's reaction to it. She could feel it in her chest, thumping a little faster when touched. At a normal time, she would have seen this contact like a wish to play and nothing else but something about it now felt different, more enjoyable than the usual sexual feeling. Her heart resonated with Akemi's touch... Hellhound felt good but above all, she felt like she was somewhere she could get used to, even among humans. She always desired to be pet, for this contact with someone, to be liked. Overpowering humans was fun but it was a path of solitude...

"...I belong here...", Hellhound calmly repeated, wishing for it to be true. Especially after being called a hero... Maybe humans would accept her more and reward her with friendly petting. She might still be feared but she was used to it. What mattered right now was that she did not disappoint Akemi. The touch against her skin at least gave her hope that things would be better. All she had to do was behave and be a fighter for humans, make Akemi proud, no longer to repeat the mistake of attacking a human village again. She had gained more power fighting that neko than whatever she had gained fighting the humans. Or at least she thought so... She would figure that out better when she was not a tired mess.

Akemi's voice telling her to sleep slowly calmed Hellhound back down. For her to be there with her when she'd wake up was a reward on its own. This human she trusted undressed before her and to the beast girl, it was a sign of trust as well. No humans would otherwise make themselves vulnerable before her. Akemi then came to her and snuggled close, holding her against herself. There was an ultimate feeling to be like this with her. The hound forced herself to roll and lean against her human friend to hug her, only some of the weight being against her as she rubbed her face against her chest like it was a pillow. "I belong with you...", the hound repeated quietly, happy to be there but soon drifting peacefully.
