  1. Welcome to Palm Beach (Artist Unknown) Palm Beach is a beautiful beach along the shore of the Utopian Curse island. It is a perfect place for roleplayers to come and discuss their characters and plots. If you are new to the island of Utopian Curse, then this is the best place to come and introduce your characters, and request for plots or roleplaying partners. Please note that things discussed in this thread may not be known to a character, so you cannot have one of your characters somehow knowing something that was discussed in this thread, unless they were exposed to it within the roleplay. Please enjoy your stay on the beautiful Palm Beach. Relevant links: Utopian Curse Roleplay Extra Information Character ID
  2. Utopian Curse Overview The Utopian Curse island is a holidaymakers paradise. Warm, tropical weather. Lush vegetation. Miles of perfectly smooth sand beaches and water so clear that you can see for metres. However, it is not called Utopian Curse for no reason. Anyone who arrives on this island almost never leaves. They are forced to live out the rest of their lives on the island. And despite its peaceful seeming nature, the island is filled with danger that make it hard to survive. It isn't a large island, but it certainly isn't small. It takes about six hours to run from the South to the North, providing that the ground was flat and there were no obstacles in the way. With the same conditions, it takes approximately eight hours to run from the west side of the island to the east side. That said, with obstacles all there, it takes several days to traverse the island. The forested areas are very thick, and it take hours to hack through even the smallest part of it. The Mountains are steep and dangerous to climb. Most people who attempt to climb them are often met with strange accidents that prevent them from reaching the peaks. The wildlife is also very strange, and dangerous. Huge, plant eating beasts roam the grasslands, attacking anything who attempted to hunt them. And to hunt these huge, strange beasts are even bigger predators who would look at a human as if they were a piece of snack. Without a means to defend yourself, the best choice is to just run. Despite the strangeness of the island, it may fool someone into believing that they were stranded somewhere on Earth. Lining the perfect, sandy beaches are miles of coconut trees. And that isn't the only similarity. Many survivors usually claim to find something, no matter how small, that they recognise from where they had come from. Not only is the island ecology strange and alien, but there is something about the island itself. As stated before, it is almost impossible to leave. If a character has a means to either fly or get into space, they would encounter fierce storms if they climbed too high or flew too far. The storms would come from nowhere, and are usually not visible to the island itself. The fierce winds would drive them back towards the island. The same thing happens when someone attempts to swim or sail off of the island. As soon as they get a certain distance, they usually experience strong storms that drive them back, or break up the boat and perhaps even drown the passengers if they are unlucky, though they usually find themselves back at the island. If people attempt to fly or sail away from the island in an attempt to find land, there is a small chance that they wouldn't encounter any storms. Instead, what they find is even more bizarre. The other side of the island. So if a person flew or sailed South from the island, they would end up on the North side. There is no obvious explanation as to why this happens. The world simply couldn't be that small, but there is no way to find out. It also seems that, far from shore, there lurks a huge and dangerous creature that attacks any ship or boat that attempts to leave the island. There are also some signs of an ancient civilisation, including some temple ruins that appear to have been already raided. They hold nothing of interest, but it appears that some ancient race was once on the island. Did they die out, or find a way off? On the South East of the island stands an old, crumbling lighthouse that is hard to get to without flying or sailing. Again, it is not obvious why the lighthouse is there, or who had built it. Perhaps it was one of the other survivors? There may be others out there, on the island. But do you dare seek them out? They could be as dangerous as the local wildlife. They might be as likely to attempt to kill you on sight as they are to try to be your friend. You won't know unless you try. It is made in a similar style to the Craethiel Kingdom map. It is likely that most characters will not immediately know their way around the island, and unless they come across another character that has explored the island, they will need to explore it before they would have a map of the island. It is currently only in black and white because it is still somewhat in the process of being made, because it is still very open for additions such as character camps. Legend - Mountains - Hills - Grassland - Rivers - Lakes (sometimes without the wave) - Water - Forest/Woodland - Tropical Foliage like palm trees. - Sea Monster - Place of Interest/Importance (See below for more information on the places of interest) There will be some locations within Utopian Curse that will not be mentioned in this extra information; that is because they are placed within their own extra information so that they can be linked back to this one, as it would be far too much information to contain to this single extra information. Despite being in their own extra information, they are linked to Utopian Curse but may have their own limits in place. 3. Welcome to the Utopian Curse (Photograph of Saint Martin (island). Photographer unknown) Blinking against the harsh light of the sun above you, you awaken to find yourself on an island. An island you have no recollection of travelling to or arriving at. Scanning the area you can tell only that the island is a tropical location, with palms trees swaying gently in a light breeze, and the fresh smell of the ocean on the clean air. Unknown to you is the fact that you have been taken by beings to this strange island, taken from your bed and planted here on this small tropical island. But what for? There are no clues, so you are left to only guess as to your reason of being here. A dream, perhaps? An experiment? Perhaps merely a kidnapping? A strange occurrence comes about when you meet other ‘survivors’ on the island. It becomes apparent that the time space continuum is being crossed. People are being taken from planets and time lines not of this world, and placed here alongside you. But why? Upon this tropical island there is limited technology. Resources are only what the island can produce for you to survive. Other ‘survivors’ litter the island and some may possibly not be as friendly as you would assume, or even dare to hope. Survival is the priority. Teamwork a secondary point. Will the ‘survivors’ of the island come together to survive and build a community to ensure safety and peace? Or will they fight for space and resources, shedding blood upon the golden sands of the tropical island? What will be YOUR tale in this strange, yet beautiful island? You can also recommend unique locations that can be visited by anyone, but do keep in mind that not all suggestions would be accepted. Capital City of Selil. Selil is the Capital of the Craethiel Kingdom, and is a prosperous trading mecca. It sits at the mouth of the Ageon River where it connects to the sea, allowing them to have a safe harbour that can accommodate hundreds of ship at once. It is usually a very busy place, with many people trading among the ships, and sailors repairing their ships. From the harbour, a single canal leads into the city, delivering goods to the many warehouses and shops along its banks straight from the ships themselves. It passes through the entire city, effectively dividing it in half. A large drawbridge connects the two sides of the city, with a mechanism that allows guards to raise and lower the bridge whenever a heavily loaded cargo ship travels up the canal, so that they can deliver their goods. This bridge joins that Merchants lane together, as it is divided among the two Districts. Around the perimeter of the city is a tall, thick wall to fend off attackers. Three gates are spaced out along the northern part of the city, usually open but always guarded. The city is divided into two main districts, the Lower District and the Upper District. The Lower District is where the poorer civilians live. The homes are of a bad condition, and sickness is rife here. There are many beggars that plead with anyone passing by to give them money. The Lower District tends to have a lot of questionable businesses like brothels, and animal fighting rings. The crime rate is high, with thugs targeting the vulnerable, and the rich if possible. The condition of the homes, and the people, improve the further South into the city one gets, until they will come across streets with large mansions. When someone makes their way through the Low District of Selil to the Merchants Lane, they come upon a bridge that hangs above the canal dividing the city. Crossing it, they will find themselves within the Upper District of Selil. Within the Upper District, the Elite of Selil live, work, and play. It is a beautiful District with old trees and clean footpaths. Lavish homes line the streets, with beautifully manicured gardens leading to each fine oak door. In the centre of the Upper District is a beautiful park, an amazing ten acres of beautifully cared for land, with tall trees, a large pond in the centre with fish and natural pond life, and benches dotted around to allow Selilsians to sit and enjoy the scenery. Nearby, there are expensive Tea Houses with beautiful fine china cups and saucers. They serve fine tea and cakes, offering a classy venue for the wealthy to enjoy. They also have hosts to converse with and flatter the wealthy guests. There are small boutique shops along the streets; a high end market for the wealthy of the Upper District which sells only the best of the best produce and supplies. It is indeed a lavish and beautiful place. If you travel far enough to the North there you will find another wall, in which there are two large gates made of solid oak. The doors are always guarded by men in black cloaks, as behind this extravagant wall is the Palace, where the King of Selil and his court rest. The Palace, a beautiful building made of white marble that when the sun strikes makes it glitter and glow, towers above the Upper District, safely behind its huge guarded wall. It has a large courtyard, around which is the towers which hold bedrooms, servant quarters, libraries and many other rooms. The King’s room is huge, with a four poster bed that goes from floor to ceiling, is covered in the finest silks and satins, and has a large bathroom attached to it with a sunken bath made of marble. The Palace is finely decorated with the history of Selil and its past Rulers. Giant tapestries tell of the history of Selil, busts and statues depict the past Rulers. The throne room is large, with a red velvet carpet leading from the huge double doors to the huge marble throne sitting in the middle of a raised dais. It stands at an impressive 7ft, is made of solid marble and has gilt detailing to decorate the beautiful white marble. There are also several Palaces that surround the castle where other Royal Families of other species reside, such as the Keza'maraki Palace. Another large wall runs around the Castle, Palaces and Mansions which are carefully guarded at all times keeping out the undesirables. The large lavish homes belong to the cities nobles and the most wealthy of traders. The brick buildings of Selil are carefully covered with white plaster, making the city seem to shine when seeing it from afar. While the homes of those that live in the Upper city are carefully repaired and maintained, it is not unusual to see the homes in the Lower District to be in varying states of disrepair. Rosayia Forest: The Rosayia Forest is a large stretch of dark forest at the very South of Craethiel. Not much of it is explored, as it is a dangerous place to travel. The Forest is filled with strange creatures that are not seen anywhere else in the Kingdom. Many believe that the creatures are magical in nature, and that the Rosayia is an Enchanted Forest that sustains the creatures living there. Most people know this forest to be nothing but dangerous, and many people would never dare to venture near it. Vorserend: Vorserend was once the Capital City of the Eldyrannth hidden among the Therarr Mountains, where few know of their existence. However at the very beginning of this roleplay, the city has been attacked and the population, save for one, slaughtered. The buildings of the once magnificent city now lie in rubble with the dead littering the streets. Within several months time, the city will be covered by crystal trees, marking the spots where Eldyrannth individuals fell to their death. If anyone were to come across this city, it would feel very calm, and yet there be a very deep sadness to it. Due to the tall mountains, it is a very hard city to veture to, however; there are some hidden paths through the mountain, that are near impossible to find. See the extra information for the Eldyrannth for more detail on the city, its previous occupants and the Crystal Trees. Do not have a character stumble into the city without my permission. Ze'taour: This is the Capital of the Zeta'muluri, a unique species of what appears to be dragon anthros; but they are very, very different from dragon anthros, as they have a much different origin. This island is very mountainous and cannot be docked upon from the sea. Most of the island is volcanic in nature and therefore uninhabitable by many species, but Zeta's find it perfect for their needs, as there are many lava pools which they can happily bathe in. The surrounding waters are also inhabited by Water Zeta's who live close to the island. They do not venture very far, as they have been hunted by ships crewed by people trying to catch a prize. Zeta's will be seen occasionally within the Craethiel but will generally actively avoid ALL contact with other species. They are very friendly with the Eldyrannth, as they revere the larger dragons. They are also quite friendly with the Mako'demeri race. Somewhat friendly with Keza'maraki's, although some Keza's seem to believe that Zeta's are dangerous dragons that swoop down and burn villages. However, if anyone attempts to land aywhere near their city, they will be hostile, and demand that they leave. If they do not, then they will suffer the wrath of an angry army of Zeta’s who wish to protect their home. Devlyn's Keep: This is the long abandoned Castle of King Tarl. It is a complete ruin, with sections falling apart. No part is good for living in. Currently this place is empty, save for a few wild animals. There may be some valuable items still inside, however many doubt it as it has been long since raided. Even though it is currently empty, Devlyn will be massing a small army at this location and anyone going nearby when this happens may be in danger. Fenrir's Graspe: This is a settlement of Mako's on one of the four larger islands. It is almost impossible to get to the island by sea, as the island is surrounded by sharp reef rocks hidden underneath the sea surface that pose a significant danger to any ships. Without the Mako's intimate knowledge of these reefs, which they never share, someone would be ill-advised to attempt to land here. No character will be allowed to step onto the island without strict permission from myself. Coda Temple: This is a temple on one of the forested islands around Craethiel. It is inhabited by Coda'zotoxi, a species that looks similar to Fox Anthros. There is a small village set apart from the temple, where Coda's work and live. While they are polite and friendly to any visitors, anyone going there will often feel that they are not welcome there. If anyone attempts to go near the temple, they will be asked to turn back, or leave. If a visitor ignores those warnings and continues to try and enter the temple will be met with hostility. No character will be allowed to step onto the island without strict permission from myself. The Monolith: According to legend, this strange structure is actually the master seal that holds the 52 Undying at bay. It is said that the Master Knight and their compatriots hunted the 52 Undying for years, as the Undying rampaged over the lands. The site of the Monolith marks the site of the final battle. To the normal person, it looks like a large rectangle with a reflective surface, almost like a mirror. To those with strong magic in the blood, it may show what is inside. It towers above all that approach it at 24 ft tall, making people feel insignificant in its shadow. Ildánach Library: The Ildánach Library is an ancient library that dates back to the time of the First King, Enutpen. It is now an abandoned building, infested with monsters from the Rosayia Forest. Many of them are extremely dangerous, and few dare to travel to this place. It is unknown how much of the libraries content is still salvageable, as no one has been able to find out. It is unknown how the library came to be abandoned. Ashaba: This is an old abandoned Mansion, deserted by a cult that worshipped a Dark God. They used to perform ritual sacrifices by bending the sacrifice over an altar, cutting out their heart, and throwing it into a fire that used to be permanently lit. The rest of the body was simply discarded carelessly. This religion isn't very prevalent these days, with this being the only sacred place left to their religion. The Mansion is in a state of severe disrepair, with parts of the house unable to be reached, much less inhabited. Some areas may be stable enough for people to move around, however that will not remain for long. It is infested by monsters and a strange Hound creature that is at least twice the size of a normal dog. It is unknown if there are any valuables inside, but it is very likely due to the danger of this place. Ashaba was abandoned at around the same time as the abandoned village. Rydraeck: Rydraeck is a large underwater city that is hidden behind the Therarr Mountains. It cannot be accessed by any species without the ability to breath underwater, as it is deep beneath the surface. It is occupied by an aquatic race, similar in image to a mermaid but with vast differences, called the Rydraen. For one, all individuals in this race are Hermaphrodites, or futa; they are all females with a dick. They are a very shy race who would avoid any ship widely. They only interact with the Eldyrannth as the two races have a symbiotic relationship. The Eldyrannth protect the Rydraen, and the Rydraen produce the exotic crystals that the Eldyrannth use; the Rydraen will not give these crystals to anyone else. No character will be allowed to step onto the island without strict permission from myself. The Town of Dragon’s Eye: Dragons Eye is a town situated in the mountains of Therarr. It grew from a small trading outpost, which used to trade with the Eldyrannth before Vorserend fell. It is still populated today, because they still act as a halfway point to Ze'taour, so trade with the Zeta'muluri still occurs.
  5. Villages and Towns Hermitage: This village is nestled within the marshlands, mainly comprised of log cabins connected by wooden walkways, to protect them from the constant water and mud underneath. This village's main occupation is farming, using the fertile soil between the marsh and grassland to farm various crops, which they then sell to Selil. Tiloga: Tiloga is a small fishing village on the coast. Their main export is the fish that the villagers work tirelessly every day to catch. This village has a small harbour that can accommodate trading ships. Leria: Leria is another fishing village. They have a harbour, but only large enough for their fishing ships. Instead of encouraging traders to come to them, they sail down to Lathulla to sell their already gutted and prepared fish there. As such, they are quite isolated, and don't often get visitors to their village. Vortase: Vortase is a small village nestled in the Ildgara Forest next to the Andil River. They are loggers, harvesting wood and will either sell it as it is, or cook it down into charcoal to sell to other locations. They are a very friendly people, and welcome visitors eagerly. Delwore: Delwore is a tiny village located at the edge of the Therarr Mountains. Their trade is mainly comprised with trapping animals for their fur and their meat. They cure the fur or hide, as well as prepare the meat to be able to sell it to other locations. They are a friendly people, but wary of strangers. Dar'vere: This village is on the very edge of the Dynz Desert and as such, quite warm and dry. The villagers tapped into a large underground water source and use this, as well as the hot climate to grow one of Craethiel's delicacies; Sugar. They also farm a large herd of cows and goats. Ryn'tur: Ryn'tur is a large farming village near Lake Kelrak. They have large fields of wheat, barley, hops and corn. They also have several herds of milk producing cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and turkeys. They provide most of the Kingdom's main meat, but sell most of it to Selil where the nobles pay handsomely for meat. Taiom: Taiom is a reasonably sized village on the edge of lake Ryomar. They grow several crops, as well as produce charcoal, firewood and fresh water fish from the lake. They are a friendly people that will trade eagerly. Abandoned Village: This village has been long abandoned, leaving the buildings to ruin and the forest to reclaims its land. It is unknown what happened here, as there are no bodies of any of the inhabitants. It is infested with the creatures that reside inside of the forest. Many people insist that it is only a rumour, and not a place that truly exists. Lathulla: Lathulla is a large, bustling coastline town that, unlike the villages, has buildings built primarily from stone rather than wood. It has a large harbour, and is a good place to trade. People from all over come to trade with neighbouring villages that would have otherwise been unable to trade. Lathulla also provides a good point to get sea passage to Selil, providing that you can afford it. Trade with Selil also goes on here, as Merchants from the city sail up to the town to trade with others. Kalath: Kalath is the point of trade between the North of the Kingdom and the South of the Kingdom. Villages from the North travel there to sell their produce and buy what they needed. The Merchants would then carry the goods down to the rest of the Kingdom, and vice versa. Due to the trading potential, Kalath usually has a festival twice a year for merchants to come together at the same time. One is in early spring, and the second happens late summer.
  6. Craethiel Kingdom Overview Welcome to Craethiel Kingdom, a relatively young but thriving Kingdom in the year of 1200 AD ,unknown to much of the world as it is situated on its own large island. The Grand Capital of the kingdom is the large city of Selil on the South-West coast of Craethiel, accessing the Verdar Sea. Selil is a rich, bustling city that draws Merchants from all over the land to come to trade and try their luck at making themselves rich beyond their wildest dreams. Selil is also the centre of power within the Kingdom, as it is where the Kings Throne sits, ruling his subjects. The Capital City sits where the Ageon River empties into the sea, allowing it to have access to the drinking water and a harbour that goes out to sea, so they can shield ships from any storms as well as allowing trade with the Towns and Villages that line the coast. Going up the Ageon River, a traveller will see a vast grassy plain to the West side of the river, and the edge of the Rosayia Forest on the East side of the river, a dark and menacing wave of trees. Many people claim that evil lurks there, waiting for an unsuspecting victim to travel into its grasp. Many tales surround the Forest, tales that usually ended badly for the unwitting traveller. Around the first bend of the Ageon river is a large marsh area. The ground is extremely soggy and few can travel through it without getting lost, as the land seems to change constantly around them. Once the marsh is left behind, the land is filled with rolling hills. Nestled above the hills is the large Lake Kelrak that is so large that some claim that you cannot see the other side when standing on the shore. Continuing North is a vast Woodland called Ildyara Forest filled with towering ancient Oak Trees with several other tree species growing alongside them. This wood is quiet and peaceful, apart from the occasional wolf or bear. Wrapping along the coastline is the majestic Therarr Mountains, a vast stretch of mountainous peaks that continue East beyond Craethiel's border. On the far East side, below the Therarr Mountains is a dry, hot and arid desert. This land is inhospitable, and few survive a trek across it. Anyone who says that they are going to journey across the vast sand dunes are usually warned against such a venture. Separating the Dynz desert from the Rosayia Forest is a second, enormous Mountain range, known as Enutpen's Glory. Enutpen is the first King of Craethiel. He was the King that outlined the borders for the Kingdom seen today. He fought vicious wars with neighbouring Kings to secure the land and unite it under his rule. The Mountain Range that bears his name is famously known as the last battle of the War. Enutpen lured the forces of King Tarl into the huge Mountain range, before ambushing the surprised army and slaughtering them. It is said that Enutpen got into one last fight with Tarl before striking him in the chest and claiming victory. He then returned to his throne in Selil and ruled the United Kingdom of Craethiel until his death. It is not known to many people, but in his last years, Enutpen slipped into insanity, often giving confusing orders and chewing on the Royal drapes. He died at the age of 63, an achievement in those days, as a sick and insane old man. The peaks of Enutpen's Glory are higher than those of the Therarr Mountains, reaching beyond the clouds so their peaks are not visible from the ground. The tallest of Therarr's Mountains at the very North East of Craethiel only reach just beyond cloud level. Off the coast of Craethiel are several islands that can be reached by sea. Many of the small islands are uninhabited, however on some of the larger islands there can be civilisation, found and possibly approached by ship. The Wilds of Craethiel can be a dangerous place, with bandits and thugs waiting for easy prey and monsters that lurk around the corners. You should be mindful of where you set foot. 8. Craethiel Kingdom (Photographer Steve Highfield) The Craethiel Kingdom is a wild, and untamed land where the monsters and animals of the land rule with an iron fist. Where legends stalk the lands like giants, and myths are the way of the world. A land filled with beauty and wonder, that the unwary traveller would find enchanting and irresistible. A land where the Eldyr’s travelled at will without fear. A land that had seen wars that would strike fear into the sturdiest of souls. It is unwise for an adventurer to strike forth alone for there is little protection beyond the walls of the Great City of Selil, or any of the towns and villagers that dot this harsh and unforgiving land. To the North, lies the huge, imposing peaks of the Therarr Mountains that tower high into the air, as if striving to touch the very heavens themselves. A perfect symbol for the land of Craethiel. Beautiful. Enchanting. Untamable and traversable by only a few. To the East sits the Dynx desert. A barren land of blistering heat and little water. The desert is nearly uncrossable at times due to rolling sand storms and below freezing temperatures at night. To attempt the feat is almost as possible as climbing to the very tallest of the Therarr peaks. To the South lays the forest of Rosayia, a deep thick curtain of darkness that seems to go on for an eternity. Hidden within its depths, are mysteries beyond comprehension, and creatures that would make your nightmares seem tame. For citizens, and travellers alike, this land is filled with wonder and danger. For some, it seems that there is nowhere safe. Be wary, dear traveller, of the land that sings its siren song. You might just meet your end... 9. Major places of note Blackberry Falls Shopping Centre and the City Centre For shopping, the place to go in Blackberry Falls is the City Centre. In the very centre of the city are several long streets that are dedicated to commercial buildings, and host shops from all over the world. It is the centre of shopping in Ashea, as you can find just about any product in the world here, from small trinkets to the latest in electrical technology. In the midst of all of this is the Blackberry Falls Shopping Centre, an extremely large building that sees hundreds of thousands of customers per day. It has over a thousand shops, and has become as much of a tourist attraction as any other location in Blackberry Falls. Along with the thousands of shops, it has numerous areas where people can rest and relax, do activities, or simply observe large waterfalls and other attractions. Security can be seen as tight, but with such a concentration of expensive shops, it does attract certain criminal attention, so they try and keep on top of it while making sure not to impose on anyone just there to shop for the day. The Blackberry Farm The Blackberry Farm is one of the island's largest tourist attractions. A large farm filled with huge Blackberry bushes, it sits beside the river that runs near the demilitarised zone. Workers at the farm harvest the plentiful berries before they are sent on to supermarkets and other companies, so that they can be made into other products, such as the pies and jams that the island is so famous for. Visitors to the Farm are usually given a tour of the facility and the fields so that they can observe the blackberries for themselves, and see just how large they are compared to usual blackberries. They are also welcome to taste the berries before being offered to purchase some of the berries straight from the source. They would also take advance orders that would allow them to set aside part of the next harvest for those who want the berries just hours after they have been picked. Growing alongside the blackberries, are several types of grapes that give rise to three types of wine; a Red, White and a Champagne. All three of them are quite expensive, as they do not produce much of it, and each type has a small part of the blackberry fruit juice added to them to give them an extra taste. This has been done for dozens of years, and is a jealously guarded secret of the family that own the farm. The fields are several square miles in size, and sit close to the Blackberry waterfall. The waterfall is often depicted in images in regards to the farm due to how large and prominent it is, which has made it iconic in the fame of Blackberry Falls. Blackberry Park This part is located near the Blackberry Falls City Centre, which situates it in a heavy traffic area. For those who are tired of shopping, the park is open for them to enter and enjoy the scenery. The park itself is 4km2. In the centre of the park is a lake where visitors are able to view the water fowl there, and ride upon boats in the water. The park also has several areas, with most of the areas being heavily forested, as well as one large open field. In one of the forested areas is a children’s playground that is themed as a small forest city, with tree houses and numerous climbing equipment. The army of maintenance workers have strived to keep the park as natural as possible, thus there aren’t too many buildings or activities apart from bridges, the children’s park, entrance buildings, benches and bins. Even with these human additions, they have strived to keep the natural theme. They pick up any litter that they come across, and a person can face a heavy fine for littering in the park. Some visitors have noted that sometimes, when deep inside of the park, they forget that they are in the middle of a city, and when they see the huge skyscrapers rising from behind the trees, they become momentarily confused. This is the perfect place for a lover of nature to come and escape the bustle of the city. Blackberry General Hospital For most species in the world, the Blackberry General Hospital has some of the most advanced medical technology that money can buy, although they fall quite short of the Keza Corp Hospital standards. It is a large compound located deep within the city, that consists of several buildings. The Hospital has a very high standard of cleanliness, and will ensure that everything is clean so that patients don’t suffer from the effects of a dirty hospital. They have a standard level of care that is free for citizens to take advantage of however the medical care is not the same standard as those who have insurance. Those who pay from their own pocket or through an insurance company can get the top quality of care, that ensures that they always have a room to themselves and nurses on call. For those receiving the free treatment, they will usually be in shared wards unless theirs is a specific circumstance. The treatment, while free for citizens to use, is not strictly free. It is paid for by grants from the government, as well as advertising from corporations, so there will be things like sponsored vending machines in some areas of the hospital, or advertisement panels. Blackberry Falls Airport, and Port The Blackberry Airport is located by the coast, several miles away from the Capital City. The Port is close by, and is in fact owned and ran by the same company as the airport. The airport has two landing strips, with two terminals where passengers load and unload from the planes. The staff there try and keep waiting times to a minimum, as the more passengers they can process, the faster they can load them on the planes, and the more planes they can have coming in and out. As such, while they have their usual checks, they do not have any invasive checks such as stripping people down or touching them up while searching for weapons. If they do come across anyone that is extremely suspicious, then they are taken away for extra questioning or escorted away by the Police. From the airport, it is possible to view the sea port that is nearby. Not only is it used for civilian passengers, but the port also acts as a means for exports and imports are traded. As such, the port is extensive, with much of the room taken up by storage of cargo containers which are either loaded onto ships to leave the country, or loaded onto lorries to be taken elsewhere in the country. On the passenger side of things, the port sees a number of pleasure ships from small sailboats to huge cruise liners, as they stop off on their path. Blackberry Falls City Zoo The Blackberry Falls City Zoo is the largest zoo in the country of Ashea, and is situated close to the outer-rim of the city centre. It has extensive grounds, and has a wide range of exotic animals from all over the world. They are heavily invested in various breeding programs so they have very rare animals such as Rhinos, Elephants, various sub-species of Tigers, and Leopards among others. The zoo puts a lot of funding into providing an educational experience for their guests, teaching them about the animals and informing them of the current condition of the species. They do not do it in a preachy, emotional way. Instead they rely on giving actual facts to give a more realistic impression of the situation which, more often than not, is worse than what it is perceived. The zoo is a very popular attraction, especially for schools and tourists. This zoo is well known globally for the wide range of animals that they have, as well as their dedication towards preserving numerous species, including ones that aren’t as cute and fluffy as pandas.
  10. Blackberry Falls Extra Information It is the modern day, and the place this roleplay finds itself in is Blackberry Falls, a city situated on a large island that is perhaps a little larger than the United Kingdom. This fair, bountiful land is split between two separate countries; Ashaea, and the United Federation of Families which has settled in on the island in recent years. The Capital cities, Blackberry Falls and Xantall’ar, sit on opposite ends of the island, separated by other, smaller cities and a wide expanse of forest that dominates the island. The cities have settled on the southern end of the island, and just to their north is a large cliff that runs from one side of the country to the other. Beyond the cliffs is the rest of the island, dotted here and there with towns and villages. The river that spills down the cliffside splits into two large rivers, with one headed towards Blackberry Falls and the other heading into UFF country, so that both reap the benefits of the strange water. For the moment, the relationship between the two countries is an uneasy peace. They mostly stay out of each other’s business, although there is limited trade between the two. Between the borders of the two countries is a de-militarised zone, that prevents either side from being able to send any kind of military into the other country. This has helped maintain the delicate truce that the two countries share. Blackberry Falls is a large, modern city, filled with large skyscrapers, which displays the wealth and development of this human metropolis. One of the things that Blackberry Falls is famous for is its BlackBerries, due to their high quality and abundant Blackberry harvests. There is something in the water of the island that causes the BlackBerry bushes to grow far larger than normal, and the berries to be the most delicious in the world. It also helps the inhabitants of the island stay healthy and helps them live longer. The time of Blackberry Falls is the early 21st century, and despite the violent economic climate, Blackberry has fared extremely well. This is largely in part thanks to the trade that Ashaea has had with the UFF and their major corporation, Keza Corp. Ashaea has their own corporation, EDANCorp, that has filled Blackberry Falls with technology that suppasses any that other human countries, although it is a few steps behind what Keza Corp has been able to produce, because the UFF tends to keep their own technology to themselves. With the combination of the trade with the UFF, their own self-sustaining ways and EDANCorp, Ashaea has remained prosperous while other economies have faltered. For humans, Blackberry Falls has turned into a technology empire, and there are thousands of jobs available for the citizens to apply for. They are also in the lead for the latest medical technology for humans, and it is home to one of the most state of the art human hospital, Blackberry General Hospital. The UFF is home for the most advanced technology in the world, and they actually have the most advanced hospital in the world, Keza Corp Hospital, however due to their restricted borders and lack of interest in sharing what Keza Corp produce, their technology (medical or otherwise) is not available to those in Blackberry Falls. Even if it was available, the UFF is made up of species that have a different biology to humans, Neko’s and other species, so the technology would not even be of any use. As with any city with a large population, crime does still exist and there is even a Black Market there. However, Blackberry Falls keep their prison population low by only putting the most violent offenders in the state-run prison. This keeps the most violent people off of the street, while leaving in peace those who do something as benign as smoking weed in their own home. Blackberry Falls is a place where people come and seek their fortunes. Everything about the city is something that most people can only dream of. However, like every city in the world, it has its poor, run-down areas where people live in poverty and where the crime rates are the highest on the entire island. For those who are unable to make the fortunes they dreamed of, this is where they usually end up. The city does all it can to improve the areas, however with the current rising house prices due to the demand, there is little they are able to do apart from support numerous charities that help out in the impoverished areas. One thing that the UFF and Ashaea do share in common is that both of them are quite strict when it comes to immigration and customs. The UFF is a lot more strict than Ashaea, with the chances of getting in if you’re a non-UFF species being only slightly higher than the chance of getting to the moon as an untrained Astronaut. Ashaea is less strict than the UFF, however they have similar restraints as Australia and New Zealand, especially when it comes to the importation of food which has the potential to destroy their agriculture and bring the economy to its knees. The currency that is used in Blackberry Falls, is the Blackberrian Dollar. It’s one of the most valuable human currencies on the planet, which speaks of their strong economy. 12. Welcome all to the Blackberry Falls City (Suee, DJMax game.) The Blackberry Falls City is a self-sustaining capital city on a remote island, where the water is pure and the land is free. The city is famous originally for it's delicious and unique Blackberries, as the waterfall contained water that was not only good for the farms and their crops, but made the Blackberry vines grow three times the size, with the blackberries themselves three times the size as well. And at three times the taste, it was something no one had ever tasted before; far superior to other blackberries. This was good for the pie industry as well as the jam industry. It was soon discovered that the water, as well as the fruits that used the water, prolonged life and promoted vitality with human life span, touching on average 110 years old, with the oldest to pass away at 149 years old (If you'd like information on Blackberries, click here). The Country has its own government, with their customs being extremely strict on the importation of food, much like Australia and New Zealand, to prevent damage to their ecology which could cost billions of Blackberrian Dollars to the thriving blackberry industry, and the country’s economy. Blackberry Falls is a rich, multicultural City that is suitable for all walks of life, with bountiful jobs and housing. At the very centre of the Blackberry Falls economy is Keza Corp and EDAN Industries. They have made Blackberry Falls the forefront of new, cheap, and revolutionary technology. Both Corporations helped protect Blackberry falls during the recession that hit many countries hard. Blackberry Falls continued to be prosperous in the bleak economic climate. Blackberry Falls attracts thousands of people from around the globe, seeking their fortunes among the streets. So here it is... Your chance to help the city to thrive or drag it to it's knees... What will you do? 14. Greetings, fellow Dreamers! Following up from our massive update, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes during this Beta period to bring most of our functionality back online. In many ways, EcchiDreams has evolved considerably during this phase. Now we’re starting to look at bringing certain sections up-to-date. These past few weeks we’ve been working on the The Roleplaying Suite. Over the years, our Roleplay section has expanded and changed to update itself to the demands of the Roleplayers on EcchiDreams. It started as a single small, pre-determined scenario driven roleplay. Thorndown University; which went on to include other roleplays that eventually came together to become Blackberry Falls, which is supposed to be a slightly more technologically advanced modern city. After that, Blackberry was joined by Craethiel Kingdom; a medieval roleplay, Utopian Curse; a tropical island that seems like paradise on the surface but is a deep survival based plot, and Andromeda; a purely Sci-Fi driven scenario. Then, with the suggestions that came forth from Dreamers in the community, the Independent Roleplays came into existence. This was a feature that intended on allowing EcchiDreamers the chance to make their own roleplay scenario, rather than be forced to conform to specific settings. This allowed people to create their own roleplays, and set their own balance of control and quality. But, during the Beta Phase I talked about at the beginning, we have found that with the Independent Roleplay section, we no longer really need the Scenario Roleplays. And thus, we have decided to move them into the Independent Roleplays as their own, Independent RPs. As she was the one that worked on them for all these years, they will be under the ownership of Neptune. Unfortunately this means those roleplays will be restarted when they’re moved, as some of you will have found out when you received an EcchiText on the subject. There will also be a name change from here on out; EcchiText Roleplays will become Private Roleplays, and what that means for the section is that nothing changes. You go there to announce Private Roleplays on EcchiDreams (This can be over the Chatbar or through EcchiTexts). Independant Roleplays will become Public Roleplays, and what this means for the section is that almost nothing really changes. It’s where you make your own roleplay or join one you want to be apart of. Custom Roleplays will become Premium Roleplays, and will remain something only Platinum members can create (which allows you to set your own permissions; either Private, Invite Only or Public). Contrary to popular belief, we have no intention of monetising this (with real money). This is purely paid for with EcchiCredits (Contribution based currency; which is still offline at the moment). This encompasses most if not all forms of roleplayers. The Public Roleplays will have difficulty ratings which will allow people to find their level of roleplaying easily, of course these will be easily searchable too. So Joining and Making your own roleplay has never been easier, and the rules are pretty simple and easy to follow. Over the coming weeks we will be adding guides to our Guides section for Roleplaying. If you click on the “Follow” button in there you’ll be notified as guides are posted. As always we’re welcome and open to feedback.
