Guily-ish. I am a huge proponent of Talk Like A Pirate Day on September 19th. I have a blousey-sleeved linen shirt with colored stitching that I adore, but the family does not like at all. On the 19th, it comes out, and "Ahoy, maties - turn-to, trim the mizzen and haul the pogey onto the deck!" They are convinced I've lost my mind. They're lucky we're landlocked or I'd keelhaul 'em!

Next poster has a piece of clothing they love to wear but have nowhere to wear it to.

Oh. Yes. Many. I adore teasingly revealing clothing and translucent fabric and... well, I have this dress... I didn't need it, knew better than to buy it since I have nowhere to wear it, but it's still in my closet looking sexier in my imagination than it ever will anywhere but in front of the mirror on the closet door. <heavy sigh> It's so gorgeous, though.

 

The next person has something they like to wear to feel "sexy".

Guilty. It's honestly such a small thing—but I have this silver chain earring with a cuff, and when I put it on, something in me switches from "She's cute. You should go talk to her." to "She's cute. You should push her against that wall." It's the one accessory that makes me an absolute menace.

Guilty. Visually a Prince Albert is gorgeous. Equally stunning, and more enjoyable in practice, a vertical clit hood piercing, Labia piercings and scrotal chain-mail are, striking but not in the same way. Nostril rings are pretty good on everybody, but a septum piercing never looks good.

Next poster paints - miniatures, water color, pastels - whatever, for enjoyment.

Guilty, but only in the most technical way - an idea, yes. Any discipline or energy to even rough out an outline, not at the moment (or any of the moments for the last 30 years).

Next poster thinks that if I quit fucking around on the internet writing porn, the novel might have a better chance.

Guilty, but only because I'm also guilty of thinking the same thing of myself. I spend a lot of my creative energies on things that will not last long term, when I could be "leaving a legacy" for whatever reason people feel the need to do such things.

Guilty. I wish I could remember anything, but my brain simply forgets within seconds... In case that isn't a talent, I wish I could easily portray my ideas through words better...

Guilty. I co-authored half of a fantasy series, and was the ghostwriter for a few dozen novels (mostly mystery-thriller). I'm trying to finally get a book out that's all me and under my own name, so... fingers crossed.

Guilty. I'm a practicing Heathen, and I celebrate the four blóts (think 'feasts' but literally 'sacrifices'): Summer's Coming (Sumarmál), Midsummer (Miðsumar), Winter Nights (Vetrarnætr), and Midwinter (Miðvetr). Some people know I celebrate 'weird holidays' but not the specifics ,and no one really celebrates with me. Funny enough, Winter Nights is starting tomorrow night and is one of my favorites (feel free to imagine a small fire, hot cider, and quiet singing under the full moon). It's also called the dísablót because the emphasis is placed entirely on the Norse goddesses (the dísa), and... and I'm rambling, so I'll just stop there. 

The next person has celebrated the solstices or equinoxes before.

Guilty. I had a friend who was... well, she said Wiccan, but I don't really think she was in practice, at least not in any appreciable way other than "a certain gothic witch look" and some books about witchcraft on her shelf. But she did know some actual, practicing Wiccans, and the bonfires on the equinoxes were particularly enjoyable celebrations. 

 

The next person loves Christmas and the whole Christmas season, even if no one quite knows the reason.

Not guilty. I am a devout atheist and have no more use for Christian mythology than I do Norse or Roman mythology. My family loves the pageantry, decorations and festivities, and I often get caught up in their happiness, but I have mo interest in any of it. Some of my older kids want to move away from Christmas and toward Solstice - which I'm only slightly less unenthusiastic about. I don't need some external reason to enjoy them. Going to the farmers' market is reason enough to buy them a gelato - I don't need an Egyptian immigrant's birthday or the days starting to get longer. It's fucking dumb, but the family loves it. They love Spongebob too and I put up with it...

Not Guilty. There are a few Christmas movies I enjoy, but nothing stands out as a favorite. My own little tradition is to put on an audiobook of A Christmas Carol and listen to it while I do some baking.

Guilty - but it's not really "holiday" food so much as I only ever make molasses cookies around the holidays. 

Buying gifts causes the next poster stress (I made an ex-wife cry - no, not in a good way either - with a gift, is why I ask).

Not guilty anymore.  Used to be that buying gift caused me a lot of stress, to make sure I got the perfect gift for the person I was buying for.  But I am in the stage of life, that I really do not stress about that anymore.  Also, it does help that we all in the family are of the opinion it shouldn't be a big deal.

(Side question:  What are molasses cookies?  Are they kind of like the Dutch stroopwafels or something totally different.)

Guilty-ish. The parties, peppermint fucking everything, expectations and demands to celebrate are all welcome to end soon. But having all the children home, warm treats and drinks rich with cinnamon, cream and cloves are welcome to stay indefinitely.

Next poster thinks driving in snow is fun.

Molasses cookies are ginger, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and molasses drop cookies that you roll in white sugar before you bake.

Not Guilty. I love snow, but I've also been on the highway during a whiteout and in multiple cars that decided to channel their inner ballerina over snow-covered pavement. I don't drive much in general but still do not like the idea of having to drive in snow. (Also, making a note to make time to make molasses cookies )

Guilty. I don't know if recovered is the word, but I'm clear of all the holiday stuff and focused on trying to start this year right.

(I did! I made them along with a challah loaf braided into a yule wreath, some oatmeal cookies, and homemade _vegan eggnog. 10/10, roommate approved, and I will be making them again next year.)
