    by Nafarman

Just a semi-serious thread to share some things about our life lessons, talk it out or write a few pages from our journals. I will go first obviously. Mine was realizing just cause someone means a lot to me doesn't mean I mean a lot to them, or anything at all.

  7. How Much is too Much

    by Dirtydan

I suppose I ought to preface this by letting everyone know it may be a bit ramble-y and a little incoherent, but I'm curious to see what others have say about vague question of; How much is to much? The obvious answer is more then you want or you can handle, but that isn't the problem, or better put it isn't answering the right question fully. In my time with roleplay I've always tended to try and an cast a wide net. You don't always get responses, or you just don't vibe with the person once you start talking details. I try my best to be accommodating, and step out of comfort zone as long as I'm not stepping past any of my hard limits. How willing are you to d…

  8. The Ranking System

    by Dirtydan

So I've noticed that all the dreamers have got a rank including myself. What does that mean? How does one go about increasing their rank is it even important?. Also I've noticed that some dreamers are listed as silver, gold, or platinum dreamers. I'm unsure if that is completely accurate, or if I've gotten them wrong. I want a cool sparkerly name and I am no determined to figure how to make it happen. Does anyone have information on this.

  13. My musing on various current RPs

    by SataiRolePlayingGuy

Just something I thought I would write for fun, and a little insight for anyone I am RPing with, or those who are just curious. Thoughts on current RPs and where they might go. As most of them are private, I won’t mention partner names, unless they you/they choose to come here and talk about them. These are not in any particular order, and if something is left off that doesn’t mean I enjoy it less than the others. Not going to include stuff that has not had many replies yet. At least not in the opening post. 1. Multi-generational magical girls. I start with this one due to it being a mix of the oldest one (I started here) and had mentioned it recently elsewhe…

  14. What was your most interesting RP character relationship?

    by SataiRolePlayingGuy

I was just inspired to write this based off a current private RP I am doing. Basic idea at the start was a multi-generational magical girl story, last survivor of an old team looking for new girls to train to continue the fight. The concept itself was interesting enough, still earlyish in the story, due to a few unplanned brakes on my part due to various issues, but it is going again and heading in interesting ways. Anyways only one new girl has been found so far (at least a few more will eventually be found), one who always saw the older one as a hero, and has finally met her hero, beginning the path to becoming a magical girl herself. A slow burn, with the idea …

  19. Why do we role play?

    by Gangsta Moll Deactivated

What got you into role play? What do you want out of it, and what do you get? I started because I was invited to Live Action Role Play (LARP) - a huge festival event where thousands of people dress up in amazing costumes as orcs, warriors, mobsters, lords, ladies, princesses - whatever - and act out intrigues, trades, fights and huge battles, over a weekend. I didn't think I'd like it but I did: playing the character rather than the game with its rules - immersing myself in being someone else (really a version of me but more free, more daring, less shy). I made my own costume - most people have amazing realistic ones including chain mail and armour and…

  23. What are some memorable roleplay exercises you've done before?

    by Evergreen01

Now, the title may sound a bit strange- But I have a couple minutes on here before I go to sleep and this came to mind. Assuming you've held long careers in various forms of roleplay, you've likely experimented a little with different ideas; or even tested yourself with particularly challenging roles! This topic aims to look at the latter of those two. I refer to these things as "exercises," as they help you to work out and broaden your skill as a roleplayer, regardless of the specific roleplaying field. For my example: I once played for a oneshot of highly-homebrewed D&D 5e as a four-headed gnoll, multiclassing into four classes (paladin, cleric, fighter, a…
