JennyDK Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 This is the chat for card- and board games in general, meaning you can talk about more than one of these if you want or switch around as you like. General chat is accepted to a certain extent.
tonyb88 Banned Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 A card game that I had gotten into while I was in high school was Duel Monsters based off the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series. 1
JennyDK Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 I only have very few cards for that as I only ever made one deck and seeing how the game runs today, they are anciently outdated for sure.
tonyb88 Banned Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 I’ve sort of become like Seto Kaiba, more collected ones I knew and were played by someone of the complete series; it’s rough for the ‘old school’ way the game was played with the slight update when seasons 2 & 3 came in. 4 and 5 same basis with the additional games of Dungeon Dice Monsters and Capsule Monsters.
JennyDK Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 I stopped watching long before that I must admit. I suppose I outgrew it.
tonyb88 Banned Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 I done what I could to follow Yu-Gi-Oh! I stopped when Zexal was getting too complicated to understand. GX and 5Ds,
JennyDK Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 Wasn't one of them about playing whilst riding motorcycles?
JennyDK Posted November 8, 2022 Author Posted November 8, 2022 Do you play other card- or board games?
tonyb88 Banned Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Uno, Apples to Apples, Clue, and the board game Jumanji
ThechaoticKnight Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Who here plays Yu-Gi-Oh or any other card game, such as Pokémon or Magic the Gathering? I stopped playing irl, and played mainly online only now. Seeing how the game has gotten too fast, I can manage it, but the ban list as a whole is a huge mixed bag idea the longer power Creep is still around. I see the mention of the first one earlier in the Forum post, yea after Zexal it started going faster. In fact people who like the past aka Duel monsters unsure if GX or 5Ds are part of it and can't adapt to the speed of the game are called Yugi boomers. I hear Pokemon is better card game. Having only dabbled at the beginning but never going farther into the card game. In fact it is doing better overall, didn't much about power creep. While MTG.... Unsure about it.... >_> Now for for Board games, Who here likes the game of life, Snakes and Ladders or Connect?

Why did you stop playing physically?
ThechaoticKnight Posted October 26 Posted October 26 At the time I believe it was based on money and it peaked, and seeing how the game has gotten with more hand traps and more you can't play the game cards, yea why waste money on a game which has gotten too fast. I heard of Commander, not much.
JennyDK Posted October 28 Author Posted October 28 Oh, I am guessing that is Yu-Gi-Oh stuff (with the handtraps and such). Yeah, that game seems to have wildly diverted from the one I knew from my younger years. I never really played it much, but now it seems like a "coin flip" type of game, where it mostly comes down to who gets to go first. Ah, I love Commander. It is where you get to use nearly every card ever printed in Magic and you can make use of even most of the shittiest cards.
ThechaoticKnight Posted October 31 Posted October 31 (edited) Yu-gi-oh funny enough has Gamble Cards and a few gamble themed decks. Its going through a loop, example there were chaos dragons in the 2000s, and chaos Dragons in Bystial, older decks get support both good, bad and ugly. The balance of bad, good and OP decks continue to happen. There are meta, anti meta, Stun, Rouge and a few others, which lowered to Spam(Full board) Stun, Stall and one more. Also there are board breakers, but omni negates that are annoying. In fact I saw various videos have had people who left YGO, and one newer video asking the question which is worse Commander looks to be much better, aside from the drama with Wotc, BUTTTT that is a can of worms I won't open. The game looks fun, might need to look for people to play online. Edited October 31 by ThechaoticKnight
