Izabella sighs quietly to herself as she shifts her green canvas military pack on her back with her trusty bolt action rifle that was gifted to her by her father when she turned 18 just before she left to join Aqua Vitae. She glances around the area as she quickly thumbs the safety off on her mosin-nagant M1938 bolt-action rifle that had been her only companion in safety when needing to defend herself. Her long raven black hair is neatly tied up in a bun as her amber colored eyes scan the barren streets, while she watches for anything unusually or dangerous hoping to quickly find the pharmacy to head back to the city. Her dusty black uniform with dark red trim hugs her petite form and clearly displayed on her left shoulder is the blood red caduceus symbol of the Aqua Vitae Faction. Nestled on her left hip is a worn old steel short sword with a wrapped brown leather handle, which on her right hip a combat medic first aid kit can be clearly seen under her black medic coat, while she has numerous worn brown leather pouches on a belt around her waist containing different supplies with a simple military bedroll hanging underneath her military pack. She quietly mutters to herself in Russian, "getting tired of these simple supply runs" as she clenches her black leather fingerless gloves.

Just like most times, the atmosphere is silent, foreboding, eerie and ominous, like an attack or some sort of disaster might happen at any time. Wandering around here in bigger groups can be quite a double edged sword of too much exposure contra the security of outnumbering any other lurking threat. Not having tons of people working for them, Aqua Vitae rarily has the option or luxury of committing several personel for minor operations, such as these. So the best option is most often to keep it to one or two people doing it, quickly in and out before anything might happen.

The area that Izabella finds herself in, as she looks through for this minor pharmacy, is a rather tight and narrow side street to one of the main roads in this old town. As she finally sees it in the distance along this side road, she can spot what looks like some sort of movement behind one of the windows, which has partially destroyed glass.

Izabella clenches her fists tightly as she quietly crouches down to being moving closer toward the pharmacy, while she keeps an eye on her surroundings hoping to avoid any confrontation with any of the dark elements of the wasteland. She also hopes that the pharmacy will have the necessary supplies that are needed as she attempts to make out the shadowy figure behind the broken windows.

The medic is able to get a bit closer to the pharmacy building, ending up around 30 meters from it where she ends up, with an old van blocking the view for whatever might be in there and for Izabella to be able to hide behind. As she is closer, there are some faint rustling noises coming from within the place. From the noises made, there only appears to be one thing in there - at least from what she can discern thus far. With a large obstacle to hide at, she can peek around the corner of it if she wants to try and inspect things even further

(Perception: 3d6+2 = 3+3+6+2 = 14)

Izabella glances around the area near the entrance of the pharmacy looking for anything out of the ordinary as she quietly looks into the broken window to see what might be inside for enemies or anything salvageable. She thinks to herself, “Hopes it isn’t anything too dangerous and this trip is worth it for the faction in inventory” as she mentally groans.

As Izabella gets to have a closer look around the edge of the van, towards the windows. she can indeed spot something in there fairly easy and the creature does not seem to have spotted her so far. What she sees is basically what looks like a single larger looking mut. Its fur is patchy and scruffy looking. Various spots of its skin looks to be oozing with some sort of yellow-ish pus from boils ranging from small to medium sized. The dog seems to be sniffing around in there, having its attention aimed at some old discarded can of beans, partially rotten by now.

Izabella gnashes her teeth together quietly as she spots the nasty mutated rabid dog messing with an old rotten can of beans as she mentally complains about the disgusting sight of the beast. She inches closer to the entrance way crouched down as she looks around for a way to get a higher vantage point to safely take the beast out with her rifle instead of having to get into close combat with the vile creature that seems solely focused on the can of as she prepares to take a shoot or defend herself against the creature.

With her view over the surrounding area, there does seem to be a minor building on the other side of the street, providing a potential good perspective from the upper story or even its roof. It looks to be another ruined store, where one third of the right side of it has vanished long ago, leaving a fairly big hole into the place on the side.

Posted

Izabella spotting the rundown ruined building pursers her lips slightly in thought as she glances back at the beast in the pharmacy as she quietly makes her way over to the minor building that would provide a decent vantage point to begin making her way up to the roof top of the worn down building. Once she crosses the street to the building, she would glance around the area keeping an eye out for any unwanted or dangerous aspects that would provide problems with clearing out the pharmacy as she enters the building through the large hole to find a way upstairs.

The medic is able to find a way that is only slightly cumbersome and slow to gain access to the part where she wants to go. There are faster ways, but this one causes much less noise and thus hopefully can maintain her element of surprise from up here, should she choose to attack from the elevated place. Even if she happens to miss, it is very unlikely that the mutt will find a way to reach her up here. With some last pulling, Izabella finally makes it past the ledge that gets her to the upper floor of the smaller building. Multiple windows point out towards the wrecked street that divides the two sides, with the pharmacy on the opposite part.

Izabella quietly sets her pack down on the ground as she heads to one of the clear windows with line of sight to the pharmacy stationed in the mild of the room. She pulls up her hunting rifle as she uses the scope on the hunting rifle lining up a shot on the mutated monster residing in the pharmacy as she fires the first round intent on taking the beast out.

Posted

The shot loudly rings in the air, not exactly being any sort of silent and subtle. However, the bullet finds its way toward the mutated dog who was otherwise mindings its own business. A sharpy and heavy growl of pain passes from the creature who immediately is hurt badly and thus begin to flee the scene, not wanting to sustain further damage. The poor mutt run away as fast as its damaged body can manage, leaving the pharmacy fully free to get closer to.

Posted

Izabella quietly glances around the area after the shot rings out through the area as she shoulders her hunting rifle, which she lets out a soft sigh after watching the best run off out of the pharmacy into the urban landscape of the abandoned town. She wordlessly picks up the military pack that was resting on the ground slinging it back over her shoulder as she begins her backtracking out of the old building to head into the pharmacy building to search for any supplies that might be usefully to herself or her faction. As she crosses the abandoned town's main street, she would keep an eye out for any other dangers as she pauses at the main door to scope out the interior of the pharmacy before entering.

Posted

The descent down to street level is fairly fast now that the danger of the dog seems over with and thus Izabella is able to use the faster route, even if it generates more noise. So she is quickly able to walk over to the front door of the other building. The door inside looked to once have been mostly consisted of glass, but is now covered by boards. There is still a fairly large hole in the wood, making it possible to peek inside. Any sounds from the dog have vanished, leaving only the natural noises of the surroundings around the medic. The sight that greets her being of a semi messy interior, with various shelves, cabinets and drawers being toppled over, drawn out and what not, but only about a third of them, from what she can tell. So there is still plenty of room to look around.

Posted

Izabella not seeing anything inside the ruined pharmacy or the surrounding area would step into the long abandoned pharmacy to gather the supplies through the broken hole in the wooden boards of the old broken glass door. She would begin to carefully pull out drawers and sift through the messy interior of the varies storage to find any items that might be useful for a medic or in general for anyone to use as she idly keeps an eye out for any dangerous elements that might harm her, while taking special care to avoid any sharp implements like needles, glass, blades or containers with biohazard material. She would begin to mentally make a list of any useful items putting them in a container or her canvas pack to hold the supplies.

As she enters the pharmacy itself, there are still no signs of the mutt, though there is still a fairly large blood splatter on where it was hit. The room looks just how she saw through the minor hole in the wooden board that covered the main door. It is half way a mess and half way fairly easy to rummage through for supplies and other useful stuff that may be here along with the former of those categories. There is a torn sleeping bag in a corner she could not see before, with it now smelling of urine - possibly used by the dog as a makeshift toilet. There are plenty of spaces that she can roam through as well, giving a decent chance of discovering things.

Izabella wrinkles her nose at the sight of the shredded sleeping bag in the corner and the foul smell that permeates the ruined pharmacy with the urine. She avoids the corner with the sleeping as she continues to look around the room and pauses to observe the pills of supplies and useful items that she had found.

Thankfully, the stench is not overly intense and vile, mostly being a faint, but still nasty smell. This makes it easier to roam through the various places within the rooms of the pharmacy. With plenty of time and peace to stick to her objective at hand, Izabella does manage to find a collection of various items in her search. After about 30-45 minutes of going through the place, she finds the following things:

  • 3 bottles of pure water
  • 2 normal first aid kits
  • 4 healthsticks
  • 2 Rad B-gone
  • 7 cans of food without label
  • 3 meters of bandages

Izabella having spent nearly an hour looking through the ruined abandoned pharmacy would quietly pack up the supplies found in the pharmacy as she makes a mental note about the items she found to report back the higher ups. Once her back is pulled taut closed with the rope securing the top with the  canvas flag strapped into place, she would carefully begin to make her way out of the building and backtracking her way out of the town as she keeps an eye out for anything dangerous.

The medic can fairly fast and easy round up all of the various supplies found in the pharmacy, leaving the place a bit more picked in its hidden treasures. Luckily, they are all able to fit within her backpack and what else she has to carry items. With that out of the way, the trip back is uneventful and safe for Izabella and she is able to return to the faction headquarters once more unscathed.
