Warning was at least thinking about doing a Battlebabe when she last posted in the General OOC.  Not sure if she was sticking to that.

Yeah, something like Talia would make a decent battlebabe. She likes trouble, she is strong and dominant. And yeah, whatever consequence that comes from it is another thing. Still thinking.

I believe you can find the Hx questions in your playbook. For the Skinner it is at the end of the playbook and reads:

• Which one of you is my friend? For that character, write Hx+2.

• Which one of you is my lover? For that character, write Hx+1.

• Which one of you is in love with me? For that character, write Hx-1.

At the end, choose one of the characters with the highest Hx on your sheet. Ask that player which of your stats is most interesting, and highlight it.

At least I think that is what is being referenced.

THANK YOU Chi, I apreciate your help abunch x.x

I guess Which one of you is my friend? For that character, write Hx+2. is what Ill start with?

There's all the moves and playbooks provided by the Bakers.

@IsabellaRose, the Battlebabe gets to have sex without having to worry about the other characters' sex moves - she just ignores them and moves on, leaving them panting and wishing they had a memento...

Not the point. She can be but I don't wanna be a kind of "tease" for anyone who might like the character but won't see anything happen. I know lot of people expect straight stuff but I don't really do these. Likewise, it might or not be more difficult to find a working scene with another. Although... I suppose there are NPCs to make an example of them to others, send a message? Not sure how that part works.

I think most if not all of this group is up for yuri, so should not have a hard time finding that, as players at least (see if any of the characters have complications there).  I will say I’m leaning a bit towards a male character here, though have not made the final decision and am okay with him not having a chance with a character or two.

Sex in Apocalypse World is incidental, certainly more incidents here than lots of other places, sure but sex scenes are probably going be highlights rather than the focus - though that's really going to be up to all you.

As for Talia - rather than try to force her in to the shape of a Battlbabe - why not work through the Battlebabe playbook and let a native of the apocalypse take shape?

I see it as the character fitting into the role rather than the role creating a character. Hence roleplaying or acting. Point is, of course the character set in the universe will live with its own "history" and timeline in that universe but I try to pick a character that fit into the role then see how it goes for them. We do it all the time in roleplay. Fit a character in a given universe. It's even like playing a mmo, to be honest.

Make a character, choose a class and go with the lore of that class in that given universe. I mean, it's not like the setting normally has anthros but we do use them as well. (As far as I know?). Right now, what I see is an apocalypse setting with barely surviving people dealing with scarce resources. I find a character look fitting that and work with it. I DID see that we can (or should?) use names from the playbook?

So if the idea (And talia was merely an example) is to create a name for a character design then I may have to search for a character I never used and see if a name fits them. Still trying to understand and figure out the system and what I need to do to make it work for me, really. (and yes, I did read the playbooks a little to try and understand all the little details and "creation" requirements. It's a bit complicated.)

I think the nature of playbooks as character classes is more unfamiliar than complicated. It mostly boils down to pick a set of stats and the number of playbook moves the playbook indicates.

Name, look, all that is completely flexible, though the playbooks do offer suggestions.

The system is simple:

Mostly, what you say goes.

If there is a move - either a "basic" move like act under fireseize by force or read a sitch, for example or a playbook move - involved, roll 2d6 and add (or subtract) the appropriate stat. 6 or less is a miss and I say what happens and you should be prepared for that to be bad. 7-9 is a hit and you get what you were trying to do but not much more. 10+ things clearly go your way.

Hx is how well you know the other player characters. It's not how much people like each other, though. It's about understanding. You can roll+Hx to help or hinder other characters.

Gear works off "tags" like loud or reach. Tags turn up other places, but they enable fiction by defining what is true in the story.

Battlebabe have high cool and a possibly high hot, they're very good at things like acting under fire. One of their playbook moves let's them roll +cool for battle moves, which allows them to fight pretty well under some circumstances.

Hence why I thought Talia fit (or the style of hers). Someone dangerous with, anyhow, no real "canon" history on my side. Just a face with a name. A question about Hx, though. I saw things like "Ask other players how many likes you" or something. Sooo. Is that just a kind of "I do because I choose to" or not? Because it sounds very spontaneous. Like, big maybe yes, big maybe no. And based on that, you get or lose Hx. 🤔

Yes, that's exactly how Hx works - You ask a question, someone at the table may choose to answer it, and you mark Hx. Through play Hx will go up and down and when it reaches +4 you reset it to zero and gain experience.

At 5 experience you choose an improvement from the ones listed on the playbook.

The system is designed to push the characters together: they're the stars after all. Fury Road is at its best when Max, Furiosa and Nux are pushing each other toward action.

Okay I think I’ve settled on the character.  It will be male this time, have a vague image in mind.  Thankfully I did reread the earlier post on how we were doing Hx.  Last night I was thinking the person who answered the first question asked the next one.  But see we are doing it different.  Is the idea we wait for for someone to answer the first question, let Dreams ask the others for her character one at a time and then let the next character ask each question of theirs one at a time?

My thought on Hx was have @DreamsnThings ask one question once that is answered, have someone who did NOT answer ask 1 question and whoever hasn't answered ask the next. Hopefully keeping everyone active.

i did ask a question? i think I asked the one of which one of you is my friend since we apparently have a limited list of questions to start?

Deciding right now between a bunny-eared Gunlugger, a fox-eared Gunlugger, or a post-apocalypse Dwarven Faceless. After I've decided that I'll look into answering/asking things. Thematically the reference picture for the Faceless fits what I imagine the setting to be best (and being a small wrecking ball of a person sounds amusing), but somebody obsessed with firearms and shooting things does sound pretty fun too.

But it also depends on what limits we want mutations to have.

Well, while I consider whether or not to answer, give an introduction for what I am thinking for my character.  Going to play up that evolved from animals things (going to take a few lion inspirations in his case), whether we have some humans left or not.  The playbook did not really say anything about it, could be changed, but I’m assuming a Brainer is something you are born as.  Some of this will be a little up in the air, not sure how he will play out, how much he will fit the implied personality in the playbook.  He his own character, but will have some similarities with a certain alien telepath a few of you know, but the world, nature of Brainers, among other things will take him down a unique path.

Leon is searching for a new place in life.  He grew up in prides of his people, was successful at it in younger days (18-early 20s, thinking maybe in late 20s  early 30s now).  As a Brainer he was always different.  He managed to build up a pride of his own though, but it was not a conventional one. The women tended to alternate between desiring him and feeling uneasy as he roamed in their minds.  He was eventually forced out, fought off.  He has now found himself in a new group, that does not follow his people’s ways, and have whatever opinions they may have about Brainers.

Tall, muscular but not overly bulky, probably a few scars on his chest/back.  Black hair that resembles a mane on his head, more like fur maybe on his shoulders.  Claws in his hands and feet.  I was wrestling with things like more fur or a tail, but maybe not.

...im strongly considering redoing the angle im going for with Jessica since anthros of all shapes and sizes are fair game... especially since the "out of place, out of time" vibe i was going for is moot when everyone is kinda out of place themselves xD im now in a toss up between a sheepy artist, a cat folk stripper, or just a straight up fox girl prostitute xD
