Apocalypse World OOC

Alright, I think I've decided on my character. I'll contribute as well to the idea of a squad of maybe more mutated animal people. I'm also going to go with The Gunlugger. Since I assume we're doing character stuff in here I'll go ahead and post my character's introduction stuff and continue the process for us. I'll stick with name, appearance, outlook/personality, and both answering Jasmine's Hx and adding one from Kiyo for now, since I assume we do the rest later.

Kiyo is The Gunlugger. She wears scrounged mismatched armor, using whatever might have the highest utility value to her, and certainly not because she enjoys hoarding things. Because she is fairly small and compact she has to adjust the size of said items often. Her mutation most closely resembles that of a squirrel. Atop her head are a pair of long ears, which are quite useful for listening to her environment. She has a very large fluffy tail, which is at least useful for hanging off things or dusting away tracks behind her in environments where that becomes neccessary. Light brown fur covers both her ears and tail, which at least makes it easy enough to conceal them in most environments. Her skin is fair, bordering on pale, which makes sense given her tendency to operate mostly at night or, at the very least, covered from head to toe in whatever she can find. Her eyes are red and usually carry a gleam of optimism, something a little easier to hold on to when one tends to avoid direct confrontations. Her hair, which is an almost white pale blonde, is quite long and typically kept bundled into a thick ponytail. She tends to wear it down the back of her clothes, as when her hair is allowed freedom it tends to fluff up and become fairly wild. Beneath her clothes one would discover a petite figure with some curves along her rump and hips, some fullness to her thighs, and an otherwise skinny frame, as food is hard to come by despite her best efforts. There are a few minors scars thanks to a few missteps in the past, but her preferred way of handling conflicts has kept her more or less unscathed.

She likes to collect things and is definitely not a hoarder (something she doesn't like to be called). When she can Kiyo will avoid a straight fight and is a little bit of a coward (shy might be the better word, especially when people she doesn't know are involved, or public speaking with groups), but she will generally step up when she really needs to (although she won't like it). She tends to exude a fairly chipper and optimistic presence (although part of that is just her way of coping with how bad the world really is, and this may crack with enough applied pressure), can be a bit too forgiving, and actually enjoys adventure and exploration despite her cowardice. Kiyo is at least cautious, and tends not to trust people too quickly, but once she does decide that a person is trust-worthy she tends to swing in the opposite direction, giving perhaps a bit too much trust at times. While she can be energetic and a bit twitchy at times this does change when she becomes serious (like during a job), something born out of plenty of failures in the field. She doesn't like her shortness being pointed out, or the underestimation that it often brings, but inwardly will admit that both can be useful. Due to her (possibly fake) optimism she tends to overestimate herself and gloat (until it might bring conflict). She will try to avoid heavy physical work and when she gets into a bad mood it can often last for a long time (although good food or shiny loot for her totally-not-a-hoarder-collection is an easy way to cheer her up). She shows excellent competence in certain things (like gunslinging and gunsmithing), however beyond these things she can often prove to be a little dimwitted (ignorance is bliss and is perhaps part of what fuels her optimism).

@DreamsnThings I think Kiyo could be a good friend for Jasmine. Maybe she keeps clean thanks to Jasmine's help, and assists with scrounging up goodies due to her hoarding nature? Kiyo would definitely follow someone who could cook delicious foods. Perhaps that is how they met in the first place?

As for Kiyo's first Hx:
Which one of you has once left me bleeding, and did nothing for me?
I'll be marking Hx-2 for them.

Dang... And I was trying to find something super dark and gritty on my side yet I see this completely adorable thing. XD This is shattering what I believed I needed to find. I assumed that because of the big apocalyptic setting, people lived like in mad max or something. (Or cyber punk, question mark?). Honestly, Kiyo, is looking pretty good.

I'll ask one of mine.  The Kiyo question can be answered after mine if we want to keep it to the idea suggested above.  Something someone else can think about answering while mine gets answered.  So, if I understand the idea quoted above correctly this is a question that could be answered by anyone except Kiyo.  She might have a chance to answer one of the other questions.

well, for the sake of animal features and the like, I want to add the adjustment to Jasmin that she has some rabbit features, namely a pair of massive drooping black bunny ears that hang down to her hips along with her black hair, with a white cotton ball tail peaking out just above her butt, though it certainly seems superficial even to those around her

I’m still thinking a bit on just how ‘animal’ to make the Brainer.  Can also switch the question if anyone feels one of the others would be better to answer (had not planned on starting with Hx3 question, though that might be the one most likely to get an answer).

Not really. It doesn't matter who answers the Hx questions. If @SataiRolePlayingGuyasks and you answer, @DreamsnThingsasks the next question, but either of you could answer her question.

Possibly. Don’t want to rush the ones still thinking more about their characters.  But threw it out there to keep a little more activity here.

I’m now trying to remember if that was something else mentioned in the General OOC (did not see it in a quick skimming).  I would not rule it out, but still have to see how this goes, get my time in playing in this system (and systems in general) and see how I like it.  Edit: Or if that just meant about the game we were are already thinking about here, then yeah.  See where the brainer goes.

I am still trying to think about a character but work didn't quite help...  I have a storm of ideas that I'm not sure what to do with. It's not as complicated as last time but like, I still have to find something out of some images I tried to search for and time was not with me for a while. I will see what I can do about that later, hopefully with an idea.

So far I believe everyone is. I don't think it'd be necessary, since it'd be counted as mutations I think, but on the other hand an entirely mutated party could be neat (especially if there are unmutated regions and becomes something of an issue that could cause some neat trouble or such).

There is no requirement to be an animal but there was a lot of interest in anthro characters so I'm trying to channel the old animated film Rock & Rule. In the film humans are long gone and a new, post-human world has arisen.

But this is our apocalypse. It started at Judge Dredd's Mega City One - huge, sprawling urban blight surrounded by the radlands. The radlands gave rise to mutant animals and in the collapse of the arcology new mutant animals have arisen beside the humans.

Or that's how I have it framed in my mind.

I give you Violetta, Battlebabe. A mutant humanoid feline, Violetta would just as soon play with you as kill you. She carries a modified semi-automatic shotgun and a katana that has been stolen from one slain warrior after another. She might even tell you who she killed to acquire it, but then again, she might be just as happy sucking the marrow from your bones, or fucking you like an animal until her claws come out and she marks your flesh. 

If it comes to a fight, you want her in your corner. If it comes to sex, you want her in your bed. But if she learns to trust you, you suddenly become much less interesting. Does she trust you?

BATTLEBABE MOVES
ICE COLD: when you go aggro on an NPC, roll +cool instead of roll +hard. When you go aggro on another player’s character, roll +Hx instead of roll +hard.
MERCILESS: when you inflict harm, inflict +1harm.

BATTLEBABE SPECIAL: If you and another character have sex, nullify the other character’s sex move. Whatever it is, it just doesn’t happen.

That was definitely Violetta. It was nothing personal. She was working a gig and Kiyo simply wasn’t part of it.
