A figure in a witch-like uniform is humming as she ready to open her store. The elixir shop is one of many businesses that is on the rage these day since the attack of monster coming up frequently. A young girl smiled whenever she had a customer that decides to buy her potions. They never order her potions in one digit, their order always close to a hundred potions with various types of uses. It could be a healing potion, a strengthening potion, even she sold few sexual ones. Using few magic as helper to aid in hundred potion making order is just a flip of a hand as she is a pure-blooded witch.

Some people do aware that there's a potion that can only be made by pure-blooded witch. The girl is one of the pure-blood witches that is existing in this world. It is unknown what does the elixir can do other than it can heal every sickness or even close fatal wounds. Its could have been just a rumor made by barkeeps or chattering housewives for some cases but they could have been real in the same time. The only mean to get such elixir is also special as there's nothing written about where to get it or even how to made it. Other than pure blooded witch, nothing seems come up. Unfortunately due to such rumor, many witch claim themselves could produce one as mere excuse so they can work in royalty while in reality, those elixir is just a water with flavor, nothing more.

Some people hunt witches for this elixir even though they don't know a thing about this. The Witch Hunt is making the witches and wizard afraid and always live in fear even they don't know how. She know how to get the elixir to be made but she found out later that she can't get this herself. It was too embarrassing to say or write, and it could endanger the whole witch existence if it ever found out. The only hint she can give to is to the person that she like. People always get ahead of themselves and claim they would love her.

They actually don't love her and said so with excuse of the payment that they will receive when the mission is done. The Witch knows this and lash out at the adventurers that only love her because of the rewards. She let out her anger until no remains that is left from them. Because few incidents that already happen and one of the remaining victims is escaping, her customers always order everything from The Witch by letter. The Witch said it herself to many barkeeps, guild masters, and shops keepers. She is also known as "The Mad Witch" because of the fact that she kills everyone who came to her and pretend to love her for her elixir. They will fall victim of her wrath if they did not abide the rules and keep being stubborn to come to her place, which the location is only known by the ones who she ask to come. 

Everything changed in one day when she was on the way to go home after looking for ingredients of her potions. She saw a wounded man in verge of dying laid under the tree when she is in the way to her home. She approach him until she saw his face, she feels like that person is familiar to her. She just decides to move his hair a bit and see his unconscious face, and she was shocked enough. She stepped back and close to her mouth for a while.

"Oh my Goodness, Riki!" she said it quietly while her mouth is closed by her two hands. The man didn't give any reply and it seems that he's too injured to respond her calling. She desperately find way to heal him with some healing potions, but no avail. She tried to use her healing spells but also no sign of response, even the greatest spell can't make him awake.  In the middle of desperation to save her childhood love, something is crossing her mind. That thing is the rumored elixir which can save anybody from fatal injuries and near-death experiences.

'Wait... What if I use the "elixir"?' she thought when "elixir" is crossing on her mind. She is thinking how to saved her long time crush and she just give the said "elixir" to the man who was her childhood friend and she decided to give it to him without any hesitation. She doesn't mind if it was his childhood crush and she admit it was embarrassing for her to do this, but she do it anyways by giving him the "elixir" directly to his mouth by open some of her clothes and directly make the man called Riki drink that directly from it source.

The witch heard a ruckus coming from afar before she can see the effects of elixir on her body. It was something that is experimental and she hasn't have any proof yet. The ruckus was possibly came from his party, who were looking for him in the middle of forest after clearing a mission or two. She decide to left her childhood crush on the hand of fate because she was out of options and to avoid her discovery. The elixir itself doesn't guarantee if it is actually effective to be used since she only know it just some time ago theoretically by her mom's last journal . She never have a chance to proved that the elixir work and failed to meet his childhood crush again ever since.

Many days has gone by through both lives and Marissa the "Mad Witch" decide it is the time to experiment on her elixir again. The problem is that according to the journal, The Witch can't get the elixir without any help, she also didn't find the last words of the elixir. 'Maybe, i just ask specifically for him? i don't know...' she thought to herself before decide to sent a missive to a barkeep, hoping it would reach him. She didn't know if her childhood crush is renown dragon slayer as she live very far from civilization. She could only silently pray and hoping nothing bad happen to him, realizing this fact. She can only hope that the letter reach the right guild, which has Riki the Dragon Slayer inside.  

-Present day

"Here's your quest, kiddo!" a certain bald man in a white rug outfit in a certain bar says to the adventurer which has a spiky black hair and wears a black outfit with his signature black coat. He is sitting in the chair which is put in the front of the quartermaster's bar table and drinking a bottle of rum in the adventurer's guild. He is also giving some rum to random adventurers that come by to rest after they do their adventuring and find some wonders in the place. 

Adventurer like him come often to this guild for quests from helping the people, killing beasts, collect items, and so many things that they can do. He is one of them and his favorite quest is dragon slaying and goblin nest clearing, he is the specialist in both areas. Dragon slaying gives a huge amount of gold per slain dragons and goblin nest clearing is priced based on how much and what type of goblins that he killed also the nests tends to give a decent but not huge reward. But seeing from the paper today, it wasn't his ordinary dragon slaying quests nor goblin slaying. It was a collecting items quest, which the item is an elixir.

"Hey, kiddo. This is a special quest just for you. The person said only you who are allowed to do this quest and that lady pays a lot of money just for you to do this quest, she doesn't mind if you do this quest repeatedly. Since you are technically selling the "elixir", we will price your reward based on the amount of elixirs that you gave to us." The bald person who is the quartermaster himself said while giving him another letter and seems he is teasing the adventurer due to his luckiness in his eyes.

"Many adventurers know that if someone isn't the one she asks to come, they will die. So nobody is going to mess around and they are so J e a l o u s due to your luck. What a beautiful lady you got there. The quest also tells you to stay in the place at least a week before you do your job." The Quarter master teases as he said what those adventurers said but nobody is foolish enough to face one angry adventurer like him, since he is already a gold-level or maybe platinum-level if he is interested. He has the perfect mix of mana, mind, and body that maybe only one or two adventurers that is on par with him.

He takes the letter and he is suspicious with who is the one sending him letter. In a nutshell the letter is to invite him to a hut in the middle of the forest in another area. Judging from their reaction this woman has a some connection to him that he isn't aware for now. The Witch named Marissa was greeted by someone with the letter that no other was sent by her. The Dragon Hunter named Riki is standing in front of Marissa, Marissa knew that Riki is her long time crush that is is alive after that fatal wounds many times ago.

Riki is the adventurer with black eyes, black hair, and with his signature black uniform is already arrived in the forest that this letter mentioned. It only took him around 12 hours of horse riding to reach this place. He needs less hours than a normal person because his intuitions and map reading was sharp enough, also he needs less food and sleep. He reach this place by riding his white mustang horse and he decides to put the horse in its place and lets the horse do whatever it wants to do because when it hears his whistle, he will always come.

He walks through the forest and see a certain lady in her witch uniform, he just think that she has a resemblance with someone that he once knew. Behind the lady there is a wooden hut that maybe she lives in. He is true in this point if his instincts didn't wrong him or his map reading was right. He walked for a while in the other area as he suspects maybe there is another hut or another people in that forest. The luck says the other thing than what he thinks, she is the only person in that forest and the hut is the only house in said forest.

He knows well that it is not a good action to jump in conclusions and think that she is the lady who send the letter. He knows that a lady will hate men if those men approach them in unknown situation such as his. He also will know nothing if he doesn't ask her in the other hand of this situation. He hates lack of information the most when it come to new quests, and this one is a almost strange mission for him to do, which is to get an unknown potion from a witch. He decides to approach the woman slowly but with no hostile intent, also in his gentle manner.

Riki just go to the door of that said hut which the lady was cleaning the interior of her living place, which Riki was never aware to. "Excuse me." Riki asked to the lady by knocking her door gently and in the manner that will shock the lady. He is maybe charmed by her beauty but he keeps his professional looking. He remember what the quartermaster said back then, is to live in that area for a while before do the quest. Her face is reminding him someone who is close to him back then but he doesn't remember who, this is the main reason why he is charmed.

The witch is just cleaning her place right now and a knocking voice in her door was attracting her attention from cleaning her place, she uses a spell to make the broom move by itself to keep the cleaning. "Yes, I'll come. " Marissa said while she know that she was greeted by someone as she happily setting up the shop for another day at work. Marissa know who he is but he maybe doesn't notice her too much yet, and she could knew him by a single fact that she only request him to come to her place.

Marissa sees a Riki, and he looks handsome in her opinion. She sees that Riki the Dragon Slayer has a good looking face, nice short hair, he is slim and tall but his face is too cold and too straight to the point. "This is your letter right?" He just asked while giving her the letter without any chit-chats or breaking around the bush. As he maybe only want to have some missions to be done fast and handling another goblin nests nerby or some dragons that disturb humans in their life. He is also thinking another dragon to have their organs with, so he can be stronger after he eat them.

"You're Riki right? Right, if not, you're not coming with that letter since I ask you personally here." She said as she received the letter and read it for a while to verify its truth. "Seems you are the person I ask for." She said while trying to wink at him as a sign. "Come on in, I assume you know that you need to stay here for at least a week right? Don't answer that, because I'm sure you can read that letter." she said that in excited tone, and she is really exited with Riki's appearance. She is excited due to her thought that fate gonna play its hands again on her is wrong because this time she got what she want.

"About that elixir... You see, there's special way for you to get it but~ a woman has it as a part of her secret" she wink at him "Hey, pay attention, i'm talking here" she scold him as she caught him scanning at her body. Its not helping the matter that her clothing is rather revealing.

Her store is filled with many plants, exotic one to unique one, even some look like its alive. Every wall covered with vines and empty bottle selves. It also seems busy since some of her potion maker tool is moving by itself, filling up the order from other adventurer.

Once she's behind the table, she look at her own letter. The elixir mission are marked repetitive, which mean he could do it as much as he like. She thought the barkeep will mess with her and send another drunk ruffian that need to get rid off which has proven false. Now that he's here, she wasn't sure if she should mess with him or just give it right away.

Realizing he keep staring, she decide to play dumb. "Say, have we meet before?" she ask with teasing tone  "Uuuuuhhhhhh... I don't think we have met before, or so I thought. Because, I remembered I was used to play with a certain girl and saved by a certain lady back then." He knows that she play dumb, he has met so many people. It seems that he doesn't want to hurt this girl. He doesn't aware that the lady and the girl were the same person.

"I know you are looking at somewhere else. It looks like every men really love to judge woman by her breast. Kidding, don't give me that scary look."she giggles while saying that to tease Riki.  He make a sigh of relief as he knows that she just kidding about the fact that men only judge a girl from her breasts. He wasn't that type of person, he never treats a girl that way. "Well, you are mistaken there." He said to Marie when Marie teases him about men loves to judge women based on their breasts. When he touches her hand, he suddenly has the flash of that said girl laughing happily in his mind. He smile for a while when he remembers that before he back to his professional self.

'I also have an important question that I will ask you later.' He thought while he thinks about his mother's necklace. His mother is a pure-blooded witch that never exposed herself in public but pure-blooded witches tend to respect her. She likes his father not only because he is "perfect" for her, but she has a crush on him since god knows how long. She is the one who knows how to make that elixir. Someone like Riki and his father is "Perfect Human" because they can continue the pure-blooded witches' lineage without breaking its "pure-blood". They also can do magic and has mana to do the magic. They can get a witch or two as their spouse or loved ones, someone even can make a harem of witches.

"The elixir is made by love and the witches make it with the person she loves the most." He mumbles his mother's words when he remember a witch's store. He is somewhat remembers her mother's night-spell before he goes to sleep whenever he wants to sleep.

A flying ladle hit him before pointing out at the witch behind the table "Come on, i don't request renown hunter for gazing the store like a welcome statue" she scold him "Anyway, let me tell you what you can and can't touch. I don't want to see you going green because touching goblin leaf skin" she said.

"Ouch!" is the word that he come out with when a flying ladle hitting him in the head as he look everything in the store. He quickly change his attention to Marie as she is scolding him. She seems care about him a lot, maybe this "connection" that he thinks about is true. He just still doesn't aware that Marie is the same girl and the same lady. He will just ask questions but he would save it at the best time as possible.

Since maybe he doing some children things with that girl who maybe just confess to him before they are separated. He only says yes without knowing what she says back then, it just a second before they separated due to witch hunt that broke up the village. Her smile kind works like a elixir but to emotional and psychological version of them. It seems he is charmed or rather starts to like this girl, who actually is his long lost childhood friend.

'Marie... It's like I know that name somewhere...' he thought while he follows her directions and the things that he should do. He just do whatever she told to and also cleaning the said place, he just kept looking on Marie as he remembers something but he doesn't remember what is it. Maybe he just didn't aware enough about who she is. His senses are crying hard to protect her and don't leave her too long.

Marie told Riki what kind of herb and plant she had to deal with. Marie know that they are deadly to the touch and Riki also knows it by the first glance, even they look like home plant. Marie claims that some plants in her hut is even stickier than a glue. She is still hesitate on thinking the reason of why she hire him in this job. It might come as creepy or it would look like she need a company like a lonely widow if she told him the job description right now. Making her childhood crush thinks her like that is not part of her plan.

Even so, it felt nice to walk beside the man who used to be her crush. In fact, she still is. He used to be wild and carefree little boy who always curious about thing regardless the danger. She also end up involved in many of his mischief although she only do so because she want to play. Now that years has gone by, he look more calculative than little brash boy he used to be, he also towering over her due to his height. He also build up some muscle. 

Marie didn't forget who the man that she is hiring right now. Riki is known as a son of a witch that marries one of a "perfect men" in this world. This "perfect" men are someone who able to marries a witch and preserve their bloodline purity. The witches know that they are rare and sometimes only born once every blue moon. Its easy to know who actually Riki is because he and his father had a huge amount magical essence. For Marie, the moment she saw him, she know he is powerful enough to even beat dragon with single slap had he desire so.

The night came as Marie called Riki to close the shop. She actually messing with him as she silently go outside, leaving the man do the job by himself. He helps her with it before he saw her leaving him with the job by himself. Which is actually not a problem to him to do such job by himself. 'Actually, maybe that girl and that lady were you. But I don't know if it's true or not. By the way you speak and doing things, you have the feelings to me that I don't know.' He thought as he saw that girl trying to leave him and sit in the roof. "I'm right here~!" she called when the man finish his job, which is closing the shop. "Come here and sit down!" she's said as she is inviting him to sit at the roof of her shop.

He follows her to the said roof and sit next to her, only to hear her teases. He hears what is the elixir is about and just focused on Marie, only her when she wants a quality time between childhood friends. But he doesn't aware of that fact, yet or so he thought. As he did so, they only giving silent treatment. She want to talk about her past with him but he said she got wrong person and also add that he don't ever meet her at all. Perhaps he actually forgot who she is since the last time they saw each other is when they are kids before she run for safer place. That's understandable for her. Although its somewhat sad. She want the person who at least get her elixir is her loved one. But he don't even know her.

"Riki, do you know what are those elixir is and where you can earn it?" she speak up in the middle of time of silence, breaking them by taking a time to speak to her childhood crush. "You can't make one or even found it somewhere. Because, they are actually part of every witch and won't be parted with it easily." Marie said while scoot closer to Riki. "Maybe, you are someone's special to me back then." He mumble that word while hearing her talks. When she scoot closer, he just seeing her and only confused for a while before. "However, I know how you can get them." she proceed to whisper, "is to capture my heart". She giggle as she scoot away from him after whispering something to him. He hears her whisper that the answer is to catch her heart. He is somewhat flustered when hearing that, it seems she already holds that feeling long enough.

"Oh, Riki~ Are you getting dirty mind already?" she laugh when she is noticing the blush in his face. The night goes on with them having small talk "Do you have question? its fine, i will answer it as long as its not perverse question~" again she tease him even though he won't budge, it won't stop her from trying.

"I'm not that perverted, Marie." He said when she giggling and he only saw her, his soul just smiled beneath his usual calculating yet professional looks as she already asking something. "Can I pat your head while I want to ask you about something? Maybe I will remember you a little if I pat your head." Riki said while seeing Marie a little bit seriously. He remembers how that girl likes head pats back then when they are little.
