Round rutten (round robbin)

Recommended Posts

Ok, simple game you have all probably seen somewhere before, the rules are simple enough, every post continues the same story, with the same (and new) cast of characters.

In any given post you can continue the story in whatever way you see fit, as an example you can cause a sorority party the last person wrote to get invaided by mad max style elves from an alternative timeline... then maybe the next guy has the elves have a change of heart mid rampage and host a tea party.... followed by that guy having everyone decide to strip down and have an orgy to celebrate this new found friendship.

Anything is possible, whether it makes sense or not.

To start us off-

The flight was long, dull, and miserable. Kelly smith let out an agitated groan as the little brat kicking the back of her chair gave her back another thump, of all things she was stuck in the center seat between an obease man who snored in his sleep and an elderly scottish woman who didn't know how to use headphones to listen to her bagpipe music...

This flight could not get any worse

And as if called by that simple thought, kelly felt the whole plane shudder, heart an ear splitting sound as a bright light filled the sky just outside her window, she was not sure exactly what was happening... then the captain comes on the intercom and starts speaking...

"Ladies and gentlemen this is your captain speaking we urge you not too panic from the explosion that has just occurred outside the cabin. We urge you to be tested for radiation poisoning at your earliest convenience. Please keep your devices on airplane mode, we will keep you updated if any information is being broadcasted. If you are feeling sick please inform a flight attendant." It wasn't long before the passengers that looked out the window reported hallucinations and blurred vision. It was strange  that the explosion didn't leave a mushroom cloud only bright light followed by a crater. What kind of bomb was this and who dropped it, it was unlike anything anyone had seen before.

Everyone panicked. People started reporting feeling ill. People said they couldn't see. They were all insane. Kelly remained in her seat as the Scottish granny jumped up and made for the bathroom. The fat guy snored away, apparently clueless. The tension in the cabin was unbearable.

Once they landed it was more of the same. Everyone had to be first ,everyone needed to see a doctor. In the aisle people were acting crazy. Kelly looked around and saw a woman about her age who was also still seated. She smiled at the woman and she smiled back. The woman shook her head as if implying that she didn't understand all this craziness and Kelly shrugged. She didn't get it either. She waited until the aisles were clear and stood to get her bag from the overhead compartment. The woman also stood.

"That was crazy, huh?" The woman slung a messenger bag over her shoulder. "I'm Jen," she said, extending her hand.

"Kelly," she said as she took Jen's hand. There was a brief static shock. "Whoa! Sorry."

The two chatted as they moved at the end of the line towards the exit. They got on well, laughing and joking despite the panic around them. When they deplaned, they found themselves crowded into a large hangar with the rest of the passengers. They were met with a crowd of emergency response and medical personnel, all surrounding the passengers. One by one they were questioned and examined. Most of the passengers from her plane had started feeling ill in the air, but she felt fine. She wondered if it was psychosomatic, if they felt ill because they were warned that they might feel ill, or if something was truly wrong with them. She wondered why she felt fine when so many felt ill.

After examination, she was sent to a line where she ended up right behind Jen. The place was chaos. Jen glanced at a chair with a lab draped coat across the back next to a cart with a EKG machine on it.

"Want to get out of here?" she asked, putting her bag on the bottom of the cart and putting on the lab coat. She handed Kelly another lab coat and pointed toward a back door where medical personnel were leaving. "C'mon," she said, and started toward the door, pushing the cart.
