Sköll slowly felt himself crawl to consciousness, his thoughts fuzzy and confused as if his brain was filled with cotton. His body refused to respond at first, feeling too heavy to move. He couldn’t even twitch his fingers or raise his eyelids. He tried to take stock of where he was but nothing seemed familiar. The air was cool, edging on cold. There was a low buzzing sound that intruded itself on his consciousness, almost clawing its way inside to take root, irritating him. Nothing seemed, or felt familiar. That thought alone caused him to shock to full alert, his eyes snapping open. He instantly squinted as a harsh yellow light assaulted his eyes causing a stab of pain to shoot through his head.

“Fuck…” Sköll grumbled in a low and deep tone, the sound almost startling against the low buzzing of the lights. He reached up to press a hand against his eyes for a moment before lowering it and opening his eyes again. He found himself staring at what appeared to be a plain yellow wall, made even more vibrant by the harsh light. The carpet was a plain cream colour, and felt surprisingly thick under his buttocks. He frowned and looked to his left, to find that it was nothing but a long corridor. He looked to his right and saw much of the same.

“Where… the fuck am I…?” Sköll muttered, his frown deepening. He tried to remember what he had done the night before, but found that he had almost no memories to speak of. The only thing he felt sure of, was his name. Otherwise, he saw nothing but flashes. Images of strange faces. And blood. He had a distinct memory of blood, a fact that rather unsettled him. He looked down at himself, as he found that he was sitting propped up against the wall. He could now see why he felt so cold; he wasn’t wearing much other than black leather trousers and a sleeveless vest open at the front with nothing beneath. He looked at his hands and saw that he had fingerless gloves on, and when he turned over his hands he saw that they had images on his right fingers. There were four of them, two red and two black. The red ones were a diamond and a heart shape, but he wasn’t sure what the other two were.

He had no clue what was going on, where he was or even much clue on who he was. But he certainly didn’t feel like sitting here and moping about. With a grunt, he used the wall to push himself up so that he was standing. He looked left and then right, but as they were completely identical, there was no obvious way in which he could go. Not even any form of signs. After a few moments of consideration, he turned down the right path and began moving forwards as he hoped to find someone that could help him.

Claire was out during a routine job in the inner city, along with a few regular cops who were to aid her there. It was a pretty standard sounding case of a missing person. As she gets to the site place and speaks to the neighbours, it gets more and more weird, as she keeps hearing how the person was in their apartment the whole day and with no one coming to visit or break in or anything like that. That it was just like the guy just up and vanished without a trace. The whole place looks like it was just abandoned as well. As she rummages through the apartment, which was fully unlocked by the way, she finally goes into the bathroom. Something in there just feels....off and weird to her, despite looking overall fully normal. She finally touches one of the tiled walls and in an instant it's like she simply fall through. In the blink of an eye she finds herself in a place full of weird corridors, doorways and such. All of them clad in this sickly yellow wall paper, with buzzing sounds of the flourescent lights above her. The whole place seems to have no rhyme or reason to the layout."What...the...fuck?", she says to herself and then tries to get connection to her team via the walkie talkie, surely being heard by this other person here.

Sköll wondered for what felt like hours, the only company being the scuff of his steel-cap boots on the thick carpet, and the buzzing of the lights above his head. The sound of the lights was beginning to really irritate him. There was no escape from the sound and it seemed to drill into his head. It was really hard to ignore, even as he was finding more strange things the longer he walked. He came across a room with a load of pillars but he could see no reason for them. This place made absolutely no sense. It was as if the architect was on some kind of psychotropic like acid. He turned one corner and came to a stop as he heard something different. It was a human voice. He started moving again, following the sound. Due to the strange nature of the place, he almost went down the wrong corridor but he corrected himself. After a few minutes of searching, he turned the corner only to find another person. She had what appeared to be silvery hair and grey eyes, and was wearing a leather jacket. She was also speaking into a walkie-talkie, clearly trying to get into contact. Her voice was a welcome reprieve from the irritating buzzing. He wasn’t sure if she was a potential threat but at this point, he would take that over wondering about this place alone, “Any luck?” He asked.

The police woman is clearly confused as the walkie talkie is just pouring static into her ear and nothing seems to really change that, no matter what frequency she adjust it to or tinker with the buttons. For now, she is more focused on the device rather than her weird and creepy surroundings. It's only when she is spoken to, that she turns her attention away from the thing and to the stranger trying to make contact with her. Luckily, she is disciplined enough to spot that he doesn't appear to be armed or threatening towards her, so she has no reason to draw her firearm."What? Huh? Who are you? What is this place? Identify yourself, civilian!", she says, clearly a bit on edge as this could just as well be a kidnapper or something similar.

Sköll reacted to the edge in her voice and her words by letting out a scoff. He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the wall, feeling the cool paper pressing against his skin, “Civilian? What are you? Some kind of army brass?” He shook his head, trying to clamp down on the flash of anger that wanted to lash out, “If you think I have anything to do with you being here, you’re wrong. For all I know, you’re responsible for me being here.”

He pushed himself off of the wall and allowed his arms to fall back down, “But, judging from your evident confusion, brass, you’re not. I’m Sköll. That’s all I know. I woke up here, hours ago. I’ve been wondering around and it’s so far been nothing but… this.” He waved a gloved hand around them, indicating the walls, lights and carpet, “That’s all I know. Now. Identify yourself, brass.”

OOC: What the fuck is a brass? xD

She is not sure how much she cares for this random and slightly rude person, but he may know more about this place than she does, if he is not lying about the amount of time spent here."I am a certified police detective. The name is Claire Hamilton. There is no need for the rather rude attitude - I simply asked because this is clearly not a very standard situation and because I had no idea if you were a threat or not. What do you know about this strange place?", she asks and thinks about maybe trying the walkie talkie a bit later again to see if it works.

OOC: Slang for an military officer.

A scoff escaped Sköll when she told him that she didn’t care for his rude attitude despite being rude to him a few moments beforehand. Why should he show this woman kindness, when she had shown him none? “I’m rude? I think you need to check yourself on that, detective. But whatever. I’ve told you already what I know about this place. All I’ve seen is nothing but what’s around us. Other than that big room with the pillars. But otherwise? There’s been nothing different. I assume you’re not having any luck?” He then asked, indicating her radio.

OOC: Oh, I see. Must be some British thing I have never heard of before xD

"I had no idea whether or not you were a criminal. I merely asked who you were and what this place were. In any case...the more pressing matter is this very strange place. Do you remember where we you before this happened? Could we have been....drugged or gassed? I still have all the items I had on me before...so...that theory is probably not fitting. And no...no luck at all. IT worked just fine when we prepped for the trip to the apartment we were going to...", she says to explain the situation she was in before ending up here. She looks around whilst also trying to keep her ears perked for any sudden or very low noises that might penetrate through the buzzing lights above them.

Sköll almost rolled his eyes when she said that she had ‘merely’ asked who he was. He was about to make a snarky response however her questions stopped him short and he ended up frowning at her instead. He tried to remember where he was behind he had appeared here, but other than a few flashes, he had nothing. Other than his name, he knew nothing about himself. He couldn’t even tell her who his parents were, if he even had any. He patted down his trousers, seeing if he had anything on him. Keys, wallet, anything. But they were completely empty. In the end he had to awkwardly say, “I, er… I have no idea where I was. All I remember is waking up here. Other than that, I remember nothing other than my name.”

Claire looks increasingly dumbfounded and puzzled by all of this as he mentions not remembering anything. She sees no reason why he would lie about such a thing either, so that seems highly unlikely. The detective observes as he rummages through his few items of clothing to try and find anything that may give any hints or out information."Hmmmmm, that sounds very...unusual. Perhaps you have been drugged or something? Do you feel...okay?", she asks, wondering what may have happened to this person prior to this more than anything.

Sköll took a few moments to consider her question. Physically, he felt fine other than a slightly irritating headache but that had not started until recently. The sight of the yellow walls and the buzzing of the overhead lights irritated him and made him feel a little restless. He shrugged, “I guess? I don’t feel strange. I have a headache but that didn’t start until about an hour ago. At least it feels like an hour ago. I haven’t seen a clock since I came in here so I have no idea if it’s even daytime.”

The police detective is unsure if she should feel relief or not, after he gives his answer. If he was not well, it could have been due to drugs of some sort or a poison. The absence of such a possibility only makes this place and what happened to both of them even more mysterious and unsettling."No idea about the time? One moment...", she says and pulls back the sleeve on her right arm. The goal of this being to try and check her wristwatch, but as she looks at it, the hands still fully still and it was working just fine before she ended up in here. Her facial expression grows more worried and confused as things seems to get worse."What...in the world? I have no idea either...did...did you find anything of note in here at all? Any clues?", she asks.

Sköll gave the detective a searching look as she asked him yet again about what he had seen in this place. She would either not listening, stupid or so nervous that she was repeating herself. After a moment of staring at her, he decided that he would be charitable and go with the nerves, “No. As I said. It’s nothing but this.” Sköll once again waved around them at the bland corridor and the intense lighting above them, “I can try and give you a tour if you want. You’ll love the constant lights and the lovely yellow walls.” He said the last part with a sarcastic bite but it wasn’t directed at her. His tone returned to a more neutral one, “Who knows, maybe you’ll spot something that I’ve missed. Like a way out.”

"Four eyes usually is better than two, in any case. Besides, if there is any danger here, we stand a better chance together as well. Ughhh....this place is already starting to annoy me. If I remember correctly I did hear something about mazes....something about always taking the right turns and eventually you will be out of there", Claire points out, hoping there is indeed something to that advice. She takes a quick look around them, trying to spot anything out of the ordinary - well, besides the obvious weird and foreign place they are in - that may lead them to some new discovery."We certainly won't get out by standing here, that's for sure", she comments lastly.

That last thing she said was certainly the first thing that Sköll agreed with. He was very sceptical on what she said about mazes but if that's what she wanted to believe, who was he to say otherwise? He then said, “I’ve come from that direction. I was going to just keep going before I saw you.” He indicated behind him before he started walking in the direction he had been going in the first place. He didn’t bother seeing if she followed him. If she did, or didn’t, it didn’t actually bother him.

Claire keeps getting some sort of pessimistic and generally dismissive vibe off of this person. Being sour and grumpy in here will only make it worse, she is sure of it. While she wouldn't rather act like some sort of lecturer or anything, she does at least hope he might benefit from some company and hopefully lighten up a bit at least."Well, at least it's an idea. If you are stuck somewhere, like a huge maze, it helps to try and have some sort of plan or strategy...otherwise, you could end up going around until you drop dead....besides, why the sour attitude?", she replies as she keeps up with him.

Sköll didn’t respond for a few moments, thinking that it was a rather silly question to ask. However she seemed genuine in her question so decided to spell it out for her, “Why the sour attitude? Oh, I don’t know. I’m in this strange place, I have no idea where it is or even how I got here. I have no memories before that point other than a few flashes so I don’t even know who I am. On top of that, the combination of the awful light and the yellow wallpaper has given me a headache. So, you tell me detective. Why do I have a sour attitude?”

The police detective can surely understand why all of those things would turn most people a bitter and on the edge."Of course...I can understand those are pretty negative and frustrating things, but letting them get to you like this only makes things worse. Getting emotional in a stressed situation is human, after all...however it won't do any good. Let us try our best to work together to find out of here first and foremost....right?", she goes on, trying to not let his attitude get to her as well as that hardly solves anything and it is better to cooperate than to work solo for either of them, in the end.

A light snort escaped Sköll before he said, “Yeah, sure… We will see how you feel in a few hours time.” Her optimistic attitude annoyed him a little, and he certainly wasn’t in the mood for a pep talk. While she might think that his frustrations were a detriment, he focused that frustrated energy into his movements, keeping him walking forwards through the monogamous hallways. Up ahead, he saw a gap in the wall that was clearly another hallway. He pointed it out to her and said, “Another hallway.”

The woman decides to just leave the topic be for now and focus on the task at hand. Hopefully he might warm up over time and this will be a bit less frustrating and harsh on both of them. Of course, she also needs to take his mental state into consideration, in regards to if he might post a threat to her later on, but so far he just seems frustrated, which is certainly understandable. She simply nods to his statement, not wanting to really add any fuel to the fire, that is his current negative mindset and outlook."Let us keep going still...", she simply adds, wondering if something will show up eventually.
