Discussion: Do futas count as yuri?

Let's have a light-hearted talk about some technical details.

I'll start with a confused opinion: I dunno. I want to say yes since it's close enough to me - any version of futa can seem like a girl! But I think if we go strictly by definitions, then it should be no... right?

I have yet to see such futas, but I've heard of them - apparently they're so common they're even a stereotype? I'd agree that they have their own charm, though that specific type is not my thing and not what I think of when futas are brought up. Out of curiosity, if there was a futa-female couple where the futa was indistinguishable from another woman in physicality and manner, do you think that could be yuri?

Right, fiction I think is where my uncertainty comes from! Girls' love is between two female characters. If you picked up a yuri novel, comic, show, etc, you'd expect two women regardless of whether or not you get to confirm what's in their underwear or not. Finding out that one is packing is not what the usual yuri viewer would expect because that's not what yuri is supposed to be, right? Going off that, I would think that futas are not yuri regardless of their self-expression.

I also feel different when it comes to roleplay, for example. I used to call what I like 'alt-yuri' (I'm fond of the name and haven't discarded it, I've just put it aside for now) because it was FxFuta with a feminine futa, like fxf but one side has a poker. If someone told me that was yuri I wouldn't disagree at all, though I would hesitate to describe it that way myself!

If futas aren't female, they aren't yuri. By that logic fembois are not female and so aren't yuri. But outside of fiction, like roleplay, I'd be perfectly fine with considering them yuri if they do identify as female.

I personally see a difference between a futa and a femboy. Where a futa is a woman who has natural breasts, a dick and identifies as a woman from more or less birth on. A femboy is a man who is just really feminine without any natural feminine traits(besides his feminine statue) and still identifies as a man, be it a very feminine one.

And there are many futas who don't go into the "horse cock mc gee" category but I have to admit they are not in the majority and more often than not have to be looked for. But the more natural "undercover" futas do exist! The ones that are basically just woman with more meat between their legs than there should be. :3

A futa is a girl with a dick. A femboy is a BOY. I consider my futas female because they are. I won't play the identity game personally. It's just how it is for me. So yeah, as a yuri writer most of the times, I like my girls for lesbian fun and my futa for a meat dildo fun. All fantasy goodness.

I consider femboys as "traps" and therefore have zero interests in them. ESPECIALLY in a yuri club where the point is to have girls have fun with each others. The advantage of futa is to add a little bit of meaty fun to yuri. Like a dildo that can make them feel things. So for me, it works.
