In rereading it, I rally don't think it's worth the roll. There's interesting things either way and the outcome isn't uncertain - which ever thing Velvet chooses to do will  happen. There's nothing external to her pressuring her one way or the other, You can roleplay the guilt and see what Robin does if you do something cruel or try to overcome your patron - both create messes, but in this game, everything does.

well yes but actually no... I have some kind of deal with mr ascars and.. TBH OOC I dont know what that is exactly quite yet :D but what I DO know is that normal mortal people are the kinda people on his list... like robin... and I have multiple things im trying to gauge in terms of... what exactly is going on? part of this basically boils down to how I approach this, especially since theres a shared story telling aspect, im trying to figure out the exact... edges of that box so I both know how to think outside it, and avoid crossing lines I should not if that makes sense?

Im trying to gauge how much power I have to tweak the story well also trying to gauge the mechanical side of it being a TTRPG

TLDR I dont know what im doing and Im trying to know what im doing

I'm not built to wake up this early on a Friday...

What's Velvet's Dilemma? Mr Ascar 100% wants Robin corrupted and her mental barriers lowered for what he has in mind.

You don't necessarily need to serve your dark power, Velvet acts in her own interest, and based on her character she wants to fit in and have friends. If Velvet wants to protect Robin I can pull a string to make Velvet act.

Since every head is turned at me, I reckon I should make a reaction first. Let me just ressurect myself.

basically Mr ascar wants her to do as you just said, velvet after seeing robins reaction is possibly wanting to warn her, im wanting to kinda leave it to chance and make it a "keep your cool" roll but was not 100% sure if it fit as a "roll" for this

So no matter what Velvet does here, it doesn't really work against Mr Ascar's will. So I see no reason pull any strings yet.

gotcha, Ill just... flip a coin IRL xwx sorry for all that

Don't know if anyone else has seen the comment update in Novaer's thread (linked at bottom), but it looks like the word from on high has come down and content involving minors will be banned once the ToS is updated, and enforcement is going to start shortly thereafter (they mention as early as the end of the month).

It seems our high school monster romp is going to get caught in this (minor being  broadly age<18). And I guess I just want to get the conversation going on what's to be done.

It'll probably take a minute to digest, and obviously we have a minute to figure it out. My first thought is doing a setting shift from High School to College and adjusting existing posts/char details to make this easy going forward... but obviously, this is a touch jarring and people probably need time to look and process for themselves first.

Truth be told I'm already looking into alternative sites. The decision has kind of nuked one of the other roleplays that I was enjoying and it is going to kind of limit out what sort of stories can be told here. Kind of sad that people's abuse of AI led to this. Though I suppose this one might be fine bumping to graduated from high school and it would only be a little awkward. The other one just didn't make sense any more.

I can't find anything about how to handle this in the rules :P . I don't care as much about the ages of the characters as much as the themes we're exploring. And I'm not how this would change that. Though I'm willing to try bumping given the drive of this group.

I think the themes of the game are interesting and many of them do overlap. Many people lose their virginity or have to figure out who they are and how they relate to their peers in college.

The hormones are not at their peak, but still very much there, as can be the feeling of isolation.

I think it can work. And no one can stop you from taking inspiration from high school drama and contextualizing it in a college town setting.

*Bonus points for the drama between 'townie' and 'student'.

Makes Dylan a townie as well, but without ties to the typical shared experience with townies going to school next to the college and the fraught relationship with the students and college (where half their parents work).

Does it show I was a townie?

Use that experience, haha

Honestly, I'm not sure how much that dynamic will end up factoring it, but it's nice to know it's there. Our MC might be able to pull some cool conflict out with it.

... I guess as a complete aside I have other character concepts I came up with well panicking about the "manipulate a PC" move no longer existing, so now that everyone knows a little more about the game we can look at doing a restart in a more college town/spring break style thing, possibly with new characters, possibly with aged up versions of our current ones?

I personally saw how "queen" has options for how supernatural you wanted to be and thought of making an actual princess from another world, with her followers being actual knights sent with her! that or I was eyeing the ghost ever since character creation, thinking it could be interesting to explore playing... well someone along those lines! vampire has been interesting flavor wise from the get go, and ghoul interested me more once I sat down and read it

I think I can cope however we want to play things... im litterally interested in playing every playbook here the more I look at it XD

The idea of a group of fantasy knights trading in armor for hoodies and polo shirts while they try to blend into a modern community college is the funniest thing I've seen all day ❤ I love it.

That said, I don't want to make any hasty decisions. I really love what we've been making so far, but we are basically just past the opening scene, so I guess a hard restart is possible.

Idk, what does everyone think? Should we edit what we have or consider starting afresh with something that's 'college-age' from the jump? I'm leaning toward 'edit and keep going'.

It think the only places we need to make edits are @roll to seduce's initial post to make it clear that everyone has just graduated, my first post to clarify that Dylan (who did not attend school - perhaps there are design records in the house) the post where @WickedCadrach said what grade she'd be in and wherever it is that Derek is called out as being a senior next year. Perhaps he's back from his freshman year at Rock Coast State?

There's no explicit content in this story and the clean up is minimal.
