Skye would blink in shock when she suddenly as the other girl jump towards her and felt as her hands searched at her skin. This sudden shock seemed to be enough for Skye to let go a little but kept her grip a little.

Stubborn girl.  Skye really did not want to give up either it seemed.  She backed up again, pulling a little but now decided to try to give Skye the chance to take initiative again.  See what she might do, whether it was something she could take advantage off or if it was finally enough to give Skye the advantage again.  They had been at it long enough they had a few others watching, curious who would win.  Though there would not be a prize other than the satisfaction of winning.

Skye looked over at the other girl and this time she decided to go on the offensive to see if she could get the girl to flinch or be distracted. She would suddenly lunge at her quickly, moving in very close to her, trying to intimidate her.

It was a little effective.  Even if it was something like what she had done before, she had not expected Skye to do something like that.  She backed a bit, her grip loosening a little.  If Skye pressed the advantage quickly enough, she had a chance of winning.  It did not help her backward crawl was not as graceful as a physical dog's might be and in her surprise she stumbled a bit.  It was still play, but with her training, she had a semi-instinctual reaction.  Wondering if she should follow Sky's lead after this, for the remainder of the break.

Skye did try to press her advantage. She would pull tighter and shake her head a little violently in hopes of trying to pry the rope from the other girl’s mouth. She would be impressed if she held on though, she was certainly showing that she had a lot!

It was finally the point that ended the game.  Still caught off guard and slightly unbalanced, she lost grip of the toy.  She let Skye have it, have her moment of victory.  See how she decided to celebrate or play with it.  She laid down and rolled onto her back, the sign she did not intend to fight over it anymore, while she watched Skye.  The others continued to watch Skye for the moment, but were likely going to return their attention to other things after she finished celebrating and playing.

Skye felt as the toy was finally her own and immediately begins to celebrate by prancing around waving the toy with her mouth. Once that was done, she then smiled and came over to the girl, dropping the toy in her mouth and leaned down beginning to lick the girl’s cheek, showing her respect for what she just did.

The girl was surprised when Skye came over and gave her the toy.  The licking too.  It made her happy.  Skye understood, she had certainly adjusted to what they were all intended to be.  She rolled back over.  Returned the licking to Skye's face before taking the toy, laying down again, at Skye's side and chewing it.  She guessed the break would not last much longer but was happy to spend it with the girl that was competition but had also become something like a friend, short as it would be.

Skye smiled as she felt the girl returning the licks to her and soon watched as she laid there at her side. Skye would lay down as well next to her and decided that this was how she would spend the break, just with this girl unless someone else wanted to do something with her. It was nice being with someone so liar to her.

The two quietly laid there while the others played, also rested and in a few cases mated.  There was some risk letting them mate, but the owners felt it was worth the risk.  Amy and the other owners of the girls involved were not too worried and figured they could handle it if anything happened.

When the break did end there were a number of other activities.  Some on one one, some in a group.  Testing how they interacted with each other, how dog like they were.  Testing their loyalty to their new masters.  At the end one final test.  The dogs were led to the doors, with distance between them and any humans.  Clothes were dropped next to them.  Doors were opened.  The true test of loyalty and identity.  They were all given the opportunity to run.  If they had any lingering desire to escape they could.  It was incredibly dangerous, perpahs steps were taken to make sure they could not truly escape, but there were no visible signs of it.  None made an attempt to run immediately but the doors remained open for now.  Testing the reasons for the hesitation.

When the break ended, Skye would do her best in the next challenges, making sure not to show any hesitations and preform smoothly to prove that she was truly a dog now. When the final challenge came around. She would look down at the clothes and the door but already knew what answer she would pick as she turned to Amy and ran towards her, choosing to stay with her rather than leave.

In the end none of them made an attempt to escape.  Though it was hard to tell if a few were considering it.  With that test over the judges made their way into a separate room, to go over notes and scores and ultimately decide on a winner.  At this point the dogs were all left with their owners.  Amy pat Skye on the head.  She had no doubt there was no chance Skye would try to run.  “I think you have a good chance.  Hope you enjoyed the boy as much as the boys back home.”  Skye had not exactly dominated, but as far as Amy could tell, there was no one that obviously did better than Skye had.  But now all they could do was wait.

Skye looked up at Amy and would give her a nod at her words. She wondered too just how she had done in the competition. She had also liked the boy. It felt different from the other’s home but, maybe a part of her did liked the boys back home a little bit more than the boy here.

There was a tension.  The wait seemed longer than it probably was.  There was little or no interaction between pairs at this point.  Everyone was curious, impatient to find out the winner.  But after some time, one of the judges, came out, cleared his throat.  “Hello again.  We have to admit we were truly pleased with all the entries in today’s show. All of you have shown the right individuals can be trained to be the dogs they were deep inside.  However, there must be a winner.  And we have come to an agreement.  We declare Skye and he owner, Amy, to be the winner of the event.  Congratulations to all of you, we hope to run this event again in the future.  Keep training, and the rest of you may have a chance of winning later.”

The rest of the crowd began to leave and staff gathered up materials.  “Amy, please bring Skye along.  We must discuss the prize for your victory.  I am sure it will please you.”  He led Amy and Skye towards the back, where the judges had gone to meet.

Skye’s eyes would widen as she heard the declaration of their victory and practically began jumping up and down from her seated position. Once the event was over, she would walk with Amy to the back, wondering what indeed would be the prize that she had won would be.

Amy and Skye were led to an improvised office in back.  Amy offered a seat across from it.  A blanket was at the the chair to give Skye something warmer to sit or lie on while they talked.  “The truth is this show, was part of a larger experiment.  To study how much a human could be trained to act, think, and identify as a dog.  But that is only the first step.  Seeing just how much progress Skye has made.  We propose the prize being the next step of the experiment.  Experimental procedures that should make her even more like a dog.”

Amy was certainly surprised.  “More like a dog?”  The man nodded.  “physical modifications, that would still not be visibly obvious.  To smell like a dog.  Feel a few other of their instincts.  There could be another adjustment, that temporarily, is even more complete.”  The man watched Skye as he said these things, curious about the human-dog’s reactions.

Skye entered the office with Amy and would hop up onto the seat for her and sat there like a dog. She would listen in to what the man was saying and seemed pretty shocked by what he was saying. Was it true? Was there really ways to make her more like a dog? She felt a little scared, a little nervous bit if Amy wanted it, she would do it and she did genuinely feel intrigued by these experiments as well.

"All expenses paid, of course.  That is the prize.  As long as you are willing.  It will of course some time.  Various medical procedures.  You can keep her company if you wish."  It would take some surgical work, replacing organs, adjusting or adding them.  Other internal changes.  There would be no visible signs.  They were not going to give her actual dog ears or tail.  At least not in the way Skye or Amy might expect.  But there was a surprise or two coming up with this.  "If you wish, we can take you two to the facility right now.  I would guess it will take the rest of tonight and most of the day to do the work.  Keep her around briefly, to make sure it works and see how she adjusts."

Amy watched Skye's reactions as she listened.  She could see the concern, but when it was over, would she be happier?  "We'll do it.  I will stay with her the whole time."  She wanted to see it as it happened, and she suspected Skye would be much more scared without her there.  The man nodded and stood.  "Very well, follow me then."  He led the two of them out got into a car and waited for Amy and Skye to get into theirs and begin following him.  On the road towards the facility.  "I did not expect a prize like this.  But it might be the perfect one for someone like you.  It may make you even happier after it is over."

As the man explained more about what would happen to Skye, she would feel herself getting more and more nervous and scared but still intrigued and feeling a little excited. It made her feel happier as well as Amy agreed to stay with her the whole time through the scary procedures.

As they hopped into the car together, Skye would look at Amy and gave a small nod saying, “yeah, it does sound a little nerve racking but I agree, I think it may make me more happy.”

Amy could not blame her for being uneasy with anything that required surgical procedures.  But she was sure it would all turn out well in the end.  The drive took them towards the edge of town, a plain building without much marking on it.  They were drove into a garage in back and led into a building that appeared to be a discrete lab.  No one inside seemed bothered by the naked Skye, led and walked like a dog.  "Not everyone here is part of this project.  But no one questions anything or asks too many questions." The judge said.  Those who were not involved in the project were part of other projects that prefer stay quiet.  Amy kept her thought to herself, that it seemed to be a mad scientists lab.

Skye was taken to a room, placed on a bed on her back, had a mask put on a various things tied to her.  "You will be going to sleep soon."  A new man in the room said.  "When you wake up it will be over.  Just relax.  Look forward to the new you.  The first to go through the procedure."  Amy stood at Skye's side as the gas and drugs began to flow, that would momentarily put Skye to sleep.  She would stay here until she was completely asleep, wait in the nearby room until the procedures were over.  A temporary bed had been provided for her for the night.

Skye entered the facility and looked around at the people and the rooms they passed by. Soon enough she was laid down onto the bed and watched and felt as they played the mask over her mouth and nose and tied her down and stuck tubes inside of her. She would soon feel the drugs and gas taking affect on her and would feel herself getting drowsy. She would look over at Amy before her eyes closed and she was out cold on the bed.

Amy restlessly waited as they worked.  She  had of course been led out of the room after Skye was completely unconscious.  She was happy to give them their room, and did not really want to see what it looked like anyways.  She tried not to think too much about it.  Did what she could to pass the time and eventually get as much sleep as she could.  When the morning finally came she was eventually led back into the room.  "She should wake up any minute now."  One of the men observed.  All the equipment had been removed.  Skye was just lying there.  When he saw hints she was waking up, he spoke to Skye.  "Take a deep breath.  Ease yourself up.  Though you should smell a lot more than a human now.  You have the nose of a real dog now.  It may be overwhelming at first, but eventually you be able to learn a lot from it."

Skye would begin to stir and her eyes soon opened. She would see Amy and the doctor standing over her. She would do as she was told, taking a deep breath and immediately her eyes would widen. She could smell so much more than she could before. It felt extremely overwhelming she would cover her nose with her hands but she would do as instructed and eased into it. It was amazing. What else had they changed in her?

"That will be obvious change for now.  She may hear new things as well.  Not louder, but sounds at pitches humans do not hear should be heard as well.  The other big change is to her reproductive system.  She cant have children with dogs still of course.  But at times she will feel something comparable to a dog's heat."  There was a more drastic change as well.  One that would come and go.  He had told Amy about that while Skye slept.  They would keep that a surprise for now.  "She should be able to move around for now, though she may be a little sore from the operation.  As stated before.  We ask you to remain in the building for now.  As we see how effective the changes were, let her get used to them.  You should hopefully be able to leave by the end of the day."  He stepped aside opening the door into the room Amy had been staying then left into the hall.

"I"m sure he is going to his office for paperwork or something.  If you want to move around, go ahead.  Get used to your new senses."  She put a hand in front of Skye's nose.  She supposed she would have a unique scent of her own for Skye now.  Skye might as well learn it first.

Skye nodded softly at the doctor’s words and watched as he left them along. She couldn’t believe that all of those things had actually been done to her. She had changed so much. Looking up at Amy, she blinked as she placed her hand in front of her nose.

She took a deep breath, inhaling Amy’s scent and her eyes widened a little. It smelled so weird, so good. She had never been able to smell something like this before. “W-wow…” she uttered and then threw off her sheets with her mouth.

She got off and got onto her hands and knees. It was as the doctor said, she was still a little sore from the surgery so she could not move around all that well. The ground felt cold against her hands and knees. She began to walk around, smelling various things unknown to her before and she could hear the sounds of machinery in the room that she would not have heard before as well.
