Lookin4fun Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 (edited) The realm of Vaslaind was a mostly peaceful land, run by a sparse few kingdoms and powerful guilds. Throughout the land, humans, monsters, and various races lived in harmony. But when there was trouble, the guilds would be called upon to send hired adventurers. In the capital city of Olearin, the Noble's Questing Guild kept the peace, extending their reach even to the far corners of the vast island continent. The headquarters of the Noble's Questing Guild was a tavern called "The Silver Steed." On this day, the tavern was quite busy and the patrons were murmuring amongst themselves. Their excited chatter revolved around the recent increased number of monster sightings. Baran Stormhorn, a large Minotaur barbarian, entered the establishment. Never one to indulge in the idle gossip of the day, he went straight to the back of the tavern, where the quest giver and archivist sat behind a desk. "Tell me, Dorian, what quests have you today?" The short, chubby gnome behind the desk was Dorian Piketoe. He was combing through the quests, organizing them and ensuring that any that he handed out that day could be handled by adventurers capable of completing them. Without looking up at his old friend, he smiled and responded, "None that I'd send you to do alone. We've got three trolls in the east, a rock golem who claimed Deepmire Gulch for himself, a pack of dire wolves roaming the farmlands, and a dragon... yes, would you believe that! A dragon has made his home in the ruins of the old wizard tower! I say, I'd never send anyone to face these alone... I'm afraid the days of single quests may be over my friend..." His voice trailed off as he wistfully gazed through the page he was holding up. Edited November 21, 2022 by Lookin4fun add images 1
JennyDK Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 (edited) A very new and inexperienced adventurer has recently joined the guild here in the capital, eager to prove just how awesome she is. The young goblin named Wress is already very full of confidence and certainty that she will quickly become a household name as one of the greatest there is. At least that is what she is personally sure of and much less what is likely the view from the outside. The small little creature struts inside of the building, her face sporting a wide smug smirk. This is certainly a good way to build her reputation, her skills (even if they are already great and powerful) and make a lot of coin at the same time. She wanders straight towards the counter for the quest handler as well."Greetings. I doubt I need to announce myself, as you likely already know the great Wress. I have come to take on a job!", she says, voice full of vigor. Wress' profile: Spoiler Edited October 9, 2022 by JennyDK 1
Lookin4fun Posted October 3, 2022 Author Posted October 3, 2022 (edited) Incredulously, Dorian Piketoe glanced down at the voluptuous shortstack goblin girl. Not sure if someone was playing a prank on him but still sensing the potential in the diminutive newcomer, he replied, "Well, I say young lady. Wress, is it, hmm? It is nice to meet you, you seem much friendlier than the grumbling characters that haunt these walls. Baran, I suppose if you and this young lady were to find another member for your party... I might be persuaded to give you a quest. This would be a very special quest," he said as his eyes narrowed on Wress. Baran turned around and began scanning the tavern, looking for somebody who could fulfill the role they currently required. His eyes quickly scanned over the crowded tables, identifying a few potential candidates. Perhaps his new partner would have some insight. Besides, Baran knew little of magic, often being relied upon to kill or break things. The tall, muscular Minotaur barbarian glanced down to the pint-sized yet thick goblin girl. "So, little one. You've got to be brave if you want to hang with me. Follow me over to a table for a cup of ale and tell me about yourself." Edited March 27, 2023 by Lookin4fun 1
JennyDK Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 OOC: Whenever you find it fitting and wanting to do the effort, feel free to add reference images for her partners. If these two are meant to be permanent partners, I would very muchj love there to be some for them. The young goblin mage notices the large male besides her, her body very, very tiny compared to his huge one. The green skinned woman doesn't really sense the rather weird underlying tone of the receptionist as he speaks of her and this huge boy besides her."Wress....grouping up? Hmmppfhhh...I suppose I can live with that...if I get the bigger cut in the end. After all, my magic will dazzle and astonish ALL who sees it in action!", she boasts without shame or hesitation, puffing up her chest in pride and confidence. She then turns to Baran who addresses her."Brave? I don't even know what fear even means....Baran, right? And sure...we can do that, if it helps you understand how great and powerful I am!", she says, happy to boast even more. 1
Lookin4fun Posted October 10, 2022 Author Posted October 10, 2022 (edited) OOC: Images added. Baran began walking to a table as he listened to the short goblin prattle on about how brave and amazing she was. He sat in the chair with his back against the wall, allowing him to see the full view of the tavern. As his old eyes scanned over the people, searching for someone who might make a good fit for their group, he replied, "Hmmm. Well, I hope you're as great and powerful as you say." A server set a pitcher of ale and two cups in front of them. Baran poured himself a cup and he quickly downed it. While he poured himself a second helping, he pensively began, "You know, I don't like the sound of what Dorian said. About us getting a special quest. He made it sound like we wouldn't be just going up against common monsters... Anyway, what kind of magic did you say you did? And what kind of experience do you have?" He turned his eyes back to her and began sipping. Edited November 21, 2022 by Lookin4fun 1
JennyDK Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 Wress hardly seems to stop grinning wide from ear to ear whenever not talking or having a drink or anything to eat."Hehe....but of course I am. It is only natural that I, Wress, would be fitting as the leader of any group I am in!", she says with great confidence and bravado in her voice. Without really looking like she either cares or thinks about it, the goblin reaches for the nearest mug of drink to take a quick swig off it. It is only then she sees the pitcher being brought there. She doesn't comment on it though and instead focus on their conversation."I am amazed they even thought I had to team up to begin with...but I guess someone would be in charge of doing any heavy lifting. As for what magic I know...here is what I am able to do...", she says, mentioning her 4 different spells. 1
Lookin4fun Posted October 31, 2022 Author Posted October 31, 2022 (edited) Baran watched incredulously and nearly laughed as the thick little goblin hoisted up the large mug and took a sip from it. He sat stone faced when she blathered on about her leadership and magical abilities, wondering if this goblin named Wress had ever even proved herself in battle. In disbelief, he wondered why such a small creature thought she deserved to be in charge, as in Baran's mind, might made right. And this tiny goblin had very little might. However, while he knew little of magic, he did recognize some of her spells and surmised that they'd be helpful, so he kept those thoughts to himself. "Ah, fireball... and healing... Yes, those are quite useful spells... Though you're going to have to prove yourself before I take orders from you." Baran replied to her. Ever reliant on the concrete and physical, Baran tended to rely heavily on his experience. A faint smile curled the edges of his lips as his mind was struck with the thought of testing the short voluptuous creature before him. He took another swig from the heavy cup, downing the entire contents. "So how about this, you prove yourself by picking out the next member of our party. Go on, look around the tavern and tell me who you think would be a good fit. There are trolls, dwarves, wolfmen, lionin, vampires, and even dragonborn...." Baran stated, eager to see how his new partner would handle the task. Edited March 27, 2023 by Lookin4fun 1
JennyDK Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 OOC: A few of these I have no clue what are: dragonborn and lionin, Are wolfman just basically furries? Wress tries her best to not roll her eyes too much and long as he does not seem clever enough to recognize genius when he sees it."Intellect is by far the most important factor in being able to take proper decisions and form strategies. Of course, a leader needs to also be the face of a group...and with my impeccable looks it is surely a given to have me lead...I will, however, humour your suggestion this time. With the area of spellcasting fully covered by yours truly, we only muscle....so...I pick....thhaaaaaat one!", she replies back and points towards a huge troll, which looks massively strong, but nicely dimwitted. 1
Lookin4fun Posted November 4, 2022 Author Posted November 4, 2022 (edited) OOC: Not furry stuff, just providing different options. They are classes and home-brew classes in DnD but I simplified wolfmen from wolffolk, wolfkind, etc. Here: https://googlethatforyou.com?q=dragonborn dnd https://googlethatforyou.com?q=leonin dnd https://googlethatforyou.com?q=wolfmen dnd Listening to the short little goblin, Baran could hear the arrogance dripping off of her voice but some of what she said was true and played into what Baran wanted. Baran hated being the "face" of the party, it always involved having to talk, negotiate, haggle, and on and on. He simply lacked the patience for dealing with miserly shop keepers, ungrateful quest givers, or trying to talk ones way out of a fight, and it was enough to put Baran off from any quest. She could have that role if she wanted, Baran chuckled to himself. "Alright then, as the face of the party, how about you convince him to join us?" Baran retorted, crossing his arms and leaning back. She was plucky, he had to give her that and he was eager to see how she would allure the troll into join them. Baran suppressed his laughter as the troll she had pointed to was Tartek. She was correct in sizing him up, he was not intelligent, but he could be grumpy. Catching him on a bad day would be certain doom for some people. However, Tartek was unique, as Wress would soon find out. Edited November 21, 2022 by Lookin4fun 1
JennyDK Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 OOC: Oh, I see. I am not really well versed with whatever DnD is. Of course, Wress has no idea about the inner thoughts of her present teammate, as she is likely just imagining her own bright and famous future and great deeds in her head. She grins wide from ear to ear as he seems to acknowledge that part at least."Hmmmm...I can do that, but I will do so if you agree that I am most fit to be our leader. It shouldn't be a big task for someone as lovely as myself, of course", she says takes some more ale from her mug. She shows no signs of doubt or uncertainty or even hesistance, which is surely good marks to have as a leader. 1
Lookin4fun Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 (edited) OOC: Lol, you're a top tier troll. Bravo. Baran watched as the feisty little goblin grinned and laid out her terms. He studied her face with a steely gaze, realizing that she really did think that she had what it took to lead him. Perhaps she did possess the talent for leadership, Baran surmised. He did agree with her choice to pick a troll and decided to give her the opportunity to surprise him again. "Well, only one way to find out. And every adventurer should have a chance to build their leadership skills. Besides, even I was young once and if things go wrong, I can help guide her..." He said to himself, reminiscing his many experiences. "Alright, young lady. You can lead the party but don't ignore the experience Tartek and I have. My aged eyes have seen many battles and I have trained many junior adventurers, if you can believe that. Well, little one, go on. Convince grumpy ol' Tartek to come along with us." Baran replied, then paused. His eyes narrowed and he grinned before he continued, "You know, I could always tell what kind of mood Tartek was in by how he ate." Edited March 27, 2023 by Lookin4fun 1
JennyDK Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 OOC: Why do you say that? One thing though: Could you colour code his dialogue? That would be quite helpful. The way I help differ inner monologue from dialogue, is making the inner monologue italic and non-bold and for actual dialogue, I use bold and non-italic text. Or did you simply forget to put the first part in colour? Wress simply leans back and enjoys the moment rather than sit and worry about any future missions or her being seen as less than capable as she is completely certain that she will excel. Thankfully, there is no more disagreement aimed towards her truthful words and assessment of her destined role within a party. She keeps grinning wide, from ear to ear, showing no signs of hesitation, doubt or even intimidation from dealing with guys many times bigger than herself."Allright...I am sure my womanly charm and well spoken words to do a lot of the work in doing that...", she says and scoots her large, thick and fat butt off the chair and approach the troll, looking him over while walking to get an idea about his current mood on her own. 1
Lookin4fun Posted November 21, 2022 Author Posted November 21, 2022 OOC: Because you started the "Geeky Hangout" about tabletop stuff and you have stats in your character sheet. So it was hard for me to buy you saying, "I am not really well versed in whatever DnD is." DnD is dungeons and dragons. Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a dick, I just found your statement hard to believe. My apologies if it offended you. Also, yes, I fixed all dialogue in all of my previous posts. I'm not sure why it wasn't colored the first time... must have been a mistake. Skulking in the corner of the tavern, the large brutish Tartek hovered over a large plate of turkey legs. He scarcely noticed the small thud of the short shapely goblin hopping from her chair, nor her soft footsteps approaching him. It was probably hard for him to hear her over the shattering crunch of bones and meat. Tartek held one of the bones in his hand. It was picked clean of the meat and he tapped it in sets of three's against the table. One of the barmaids had stopped at the edge of the large ogre's table. Courteously, she asked, "Is there anything else you need sir?" Tartek grunted back in a groggy and raspy tone, while crudely pointing at his empty glass. "Uh, yes. Tartek wants more ale. And meat. Now. Ahem, please." Professionally, the barmaid nodded and stepped away. Tartek grunted in approval then resumed cramming the food into his mouth with his large stubby hands. His eyes were glazed over, as though lost in thought, and he resumed tapping the bone against the table. That was when he noticed Wress and brought the bone down to his side. "Little green girl staring. What you want?" he said, eyeing her. 1
JennyDK Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 OOC: Nah, not offended. I am just not really well versed in D&D. I have always liked many other systems. Not sure why people write DnD rather than D&D either. The goblin notices that he may not be the brightest and most quick witted creature around as she observes him for a bit and deciding what sort of approach she would take in this objective. She feels her lips form a small, but wicked smile before she responds back to the large ogre."Ohhhh...ohh dear! I can sense something about you...ohh my..oh myy, my! I think you may have been cursed...hexed...poxed, by foul magic! Are you trained in the art of sorcery?", she says, trying to sound like she is alarmed and shocked. 1
Lookin4fun Posted December 12, 2022 Author Posted December 12, 2022 Shocked, Tartek tilted his head in wide eyed amazement at the tiny green goblin that stood before him. Dimly, he wondered if she could read his mind, not realizing that she had seen him anxiously tapping the bone or gazing in such a dissociated manner. Carefully, the giant ogre set the bone on the table in front of him and Wress. "What? Cursed?" he exclaimed. Slowly the wheels turned in his mind and Tartek gathered his thoughts as he reasoned that perhaps she could help him. Finally, the large ogre began talking, softly and slowly at first. "No, Tartek is Earth Druid. Only know how to become giant rock, spiky tree, quicksand.... not know curses. Tartek got bone for next magic to learn but not working! You small green lady break curse for Tarktek!" As he spoke, his speech got louder and louder, until he was nearly shouting, culminating with him slamming his fist on the table. Several heads turned to see the commotion, yet the massive thick skinned ogre seemed to not notice or care. Meanwhile Baran watched, not eager to jump in but wanting to see how his new goblin friend handled the beefy oaf. 1
JennyDK Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 Wress does her best to stop her mouth from grinning from ear to ear as her attempt seems to hit well and true with the ogre. She decides to get him calmed down again, using her "help" as an excuse to get him to join the team under her mighty, intelligent and outstanding leadership and wisdom. She gently places a small and green hand onto a thigh - several times the size of her entire body - and speaks to Tartek."Don't worry Tartek. Wress is a great juju caster...if I cure you of your vile and DEADLY curse....will you acknowledge my leadership and join my team, along with Baran over there? I will make sure you are safe and healthy!", she tells him in a calm manner. 1
Lookin4fun Posted January 2, 2023 Author Posted January 2, 2023 The massive troll chuckled at the tiny green goblin before him. He listened to her offer and wondered why she had such a devious grin upon her face as she was giving him the deal of a lifetime. Clearly she did not know that she had played right into hands, so with the subtly of a bull in a china shop, Tartek decided to 'play it cool.' "Cure curse, be safe, healthy, and no have to think? Only to join? Tartek accept! Short green lady is pretty but not too bright, heh," Tartek stated, revealing that he thought he cleverly bamboozled Wress. "Ok, I follow pretty goblin, but need to warn you. Sometimes Tartek get mad. REALLY mad. And it cause Tartek to break stuff. And people. Oh, and stuff too. So when you cure Tartek or curse?" On the other end of the tavern, Baran watched with a wide grin, impressed by his new companion. 1
JennyDK Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Wress has to really stop herself from making it very clear that she is the one who has this whole deal in the bag and that it was just a ruse to get him to join. Still, she is very certain that two large monster males would serve as a good way to have physical protection, become the leader and be a much less visible target for potential threats or nosey troublemakers."It would be a huge missed opportunity not to join us. After all, I know all the good juju and can easily make sure we get the right deals and rewards! Wress will cure you just as soon as the three of us go out to do our first job. I hope you like making shinies too!", she says and motions for him to follow her. 1
Lookin4fun Posted January 30, 2023 Author Posted January 30, 2023 (edited) A wide toothy grin flashed across Tartek's face as he replied, "Hmmm, Tartek like shinies... Ok, lady, Tartek follow!" The chair creaked beneath his massive frame as Tartek stood up. Leaving behind his plate of bones, he followed the short goblin over to the desk, where the quest giving gnome was still shuffling through his papers. Dorian Piketoe looked up and smiled. "Ah, I see you have assembled your party. Well, I've still got the three trolls in the east, the rock golem in Deepmire Gulch, the pack of dire wolves in the farmlands, and the dragon in the ruins of the old wizard tower. You could pick any of those quests, but something tells me that you might be capable of something more..." His eyes narrowed as they met the gaze of the overly assured goblin mage. He continued, "As you probably know, the monsters that have been appearing have been bigger and stronger than usual. I need to know why. If you want, I can give you a moment to consider the dangers of having to get so up close and personal to such large and powerful creatures..." Edited March 16, 2023 by Lookin4fun 1
JennyDK Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 The goblin mage have a large and wide smirk plastered on her face, going from ear to ear and which is not likely to fade soon either. She has hands on her hips and her chest slightly thrusted forward, all in all striking a very confident and assured aura and impression to everyone around her."Mistress Wress and her loyal pet-...I mean, loyal followers will accept any deed or quest given to us and we will do it very well and properly, under my wise leadership, keen mind and formidable powers!", she says loudly and clearly for the clerk to hear and likely at least half of the room as well. She looks over Tarek and Baran, as the fleshy shields and helpers they make up."Now...as our first job...we will be taking the troll one. Any paper with details on it, I can read and share with my teammates on our way?", she follows up with right after. 1
Lookin4fun Posted March 16, 2023 Author Posted March 16, 2023 (edited) The gnome listened to the tiny voluptuous goblin's response, eyeing her toothy grin and radiating confidence. Wordlessly, he reached under the desk, procuring a map and a sheet of paper. On the map, he marked the location of the tavern as well as an 'X' in a nearby field to the east. "This marks where the trolls were last seen, ma'am. Three trolls for three adventurers, I've no doubt you can handle this. You've also got a copy of the wanted poster for the trolls, listing their crimes and identifying features. On the back of the poster are some scrawlings of mine detailing the attributes of trolls in Olearin. Here," he answered, sliding the papers across the desk to the short green skinned girl. "By the by," he continued, just before the party turned away from him. "You know, there are several weapon and armor shops in the market next door. You might even find a potion seller or some spell scrolls if you are lucky. I mean, just in case you and your... loyal followers... need to get anything before you go," ending his statement with a stifled chuckle. Edited March 27, 2023 by Lookin4fun 1
JennyDK Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Wress takes the parchment with information regarding this job from the clerk and giving it a quick skim before putting it in her backpack for now."I will keep that in mind - we will back soon. I see no reason why we cannot do well here, since I am guiding my teammates all the way", she responds back to him. Then she turns to look at the minotaur and ogre."Unless you guys need anything for this job, I think we are good and fine to go there and get this done!", she says, eager to show her prowess. 1
Lookin4fun Posted March 27, 2023 Author Posted March 27, 2023 (edited) "Hmmm... yes. Good luck then," Dorian the Gnome replied knowingly. He turned back to his notes and maps and began organizing them for the next adventuring parties to darken his desk. Yet due to curiosity, he still watched from the corner of his gaze until the trio had left the Tavern. Meanwhile, Wress' party mates had listened to the exchange. Tartek, a troll himself, was quite unaccustomed to fear and confident that he could best any other troll. Perhaps he was too confident, but that was just how most trolls were. Besides, Tartek was an earth troll with some unique attributes. "Tartek have pretty lady to cure curse! Need nothing!" he bellowed boldly. Similarly, Baran lifted his axe and let the handle slap down into his other hand. With a smile, he replied, "I have all I need, young one! A warrior like me only needs his courage, his rage, and his mighty axe!" Gripping their respective axe and club, Baran and Tartek nodded wordlessly to the tiny mage. Ready to follow her, for different reasons, the bulky duo step to the left and right to create an opening for the little goblin walk out between them. Edited May 1, 2023 by Lookin4fun 1
JennyDK Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Wress is happy and eager to hear that, especially since it means that they are simply ready to go and do their thing."Marvelous! There is no time like the present...and all that! Let us venture to the spot indicated in our parchment", she says and then takes the spot between the two hulking figures. She takes out the papers given to her, so she may see how to best, easiest and fastest lead the way to their shared destination. Each movement of her body, even the tiniest one, sends rippling and jiggling through her body, making her giga sized ass and breasts wobble, jump and shake like crazy. 1
Lookin4fun Posted May 1, 2023 Author Posted May 1, 2023 As the voluptuous goblin's assets jiggled as she stepped between the two mighty creatures, their eyes couldn't help but be drawn to the sight. The more demure Baran stole a glance, but quickly turned away, as if he had not been looking. Conversely, Tartek just stared, a toothy grin covering his visage. He was about to let out a satisfied grunt until Baran shot him a disproving look, so the hulking troll simply shrugged carelessly. Thankfully Wress seemed not to notice or if she did, had ignored it. Quietly they made their way out of the tavern and followed the arrows marked on the map Wress held in her hands. Numerous short scribblings adorned the page, things like, "the trolls like to hide behind rocks and trees, just off the path so as to ambush," and "I suspect they have a cave nearby the old bridge." The tiny neat writing suggested that Dorian had written this himself. On the other side of the map, was the wanted poster explaining more about the 3 trolls. At the top was a warning and a list of their crimes. Just below it was the amount of coins to be collected as a reward for their capture or elimination. Then a hand drawn picture of all 3 of them in the middle. Finally, on each side was more details, which read: "The 3 trolls are highly dangerous. Like most trolls that operate solitary or in small groups, these 3 had taken to robbery. But as of late, they have begun to eat and flay numerous travelers. Special caution should be taken as unlike most trolls, these trolls are not of the same element. As pictured, there is 1 fire troll, 1 water troll, and 1 storm troll. Magic users are preferred for a job such as this." Steadily, the trio made their along the path, through the woods, passing the landmarks that signaled that they were close. The small snapping sound of a twig shattered the quiet of the forest. Baran gripped his axe and hunched his shoulders as he stopped in his tracks. Tartek looked at Wress, waiting for her signal. 1
