What were your first experiences with porn/hentai?

While all of us (and especially all of ~us~, here on EcchiDreams) have had some kind of experience with pornography/hentai, be it regularly viewing it, occasionally running into it on the internet once in a while, or even just exposure viva voce (having heard about it through word of mouth), I've often wondered to myself, much like with how virtually all interests and hobbies are developed: "What is it that got you into that?"

Everyone with an interest or hobby has a first experience with it, from which said interest/hobby flourishes and becomes a distinctive part of one's personality. What I'm curious about though, is what those first experiences were. Everyone's story is different; and I would love to hear your stories (only if you're comfortable sharing them of course!), seeing as I would imagine nearly all of us got here from having an interest in a combination of porn/hentai and literature/roleplaying.

I think, from memory, my very first encounter with pornography online was on one random occasion when I was mindlessly surfing the web, as I was starting to do more regularly around that time. I would have been around 11 years old. I vaguely remember visiting a random website, and unexpectedly getting a pop-up advertising a porn site. It's funny looking back on it, because at the time, I remember being terrified of seeing something so foreign to me so suddenly and unexpectedly. I scrambled really fast to close the pop-up, and actually felt scared of using the computer for a brief time afterwards out of fear of having the same thing happen to me again. On top of that, I didn't need relatives catching me looking at that stuff either. >//.//<

That's technically my very first encounter with "adult material". Lol. xD

Fast forward a few years later, I would be 14 years old and using my own laptop which nobody else ever uses, and I end up having a repeat of the same situation I had run into about three years ago, only this time, just by chance... it was animated.  This time when I saw it, I didn't panic and rush to get it off of my screen. Instead, I remember being curious about it, especially seeing depictions of a fictional character that I liked that you would never see in the actual series they were from.

To wrap this up so I don't end up making this into an entire novel: from then onward I discovered "Rule 34", and from there I found Hentai sites, and then the rest is history. .w. I remember it becoming a competition at one point to think of as many characters as I possibly can, and see if there are any characters I love that have NOT had Rule 34 made of them.  Not gonna lie, I have memories of staying up past bedtime reading Hentai doujins and looking at ecchi using the awful internet browser on my Nintendo 3DS and hiding under my bedsheets until really late at night. I'd be trying to click a button to see the next page of a doujin, and while it would load the 3DS internet browser would crash every half-an-hour and I would have to switch it off and back on again. As dumb and embarrassing as it may sound, it does feel nostalgic thinking back to it~.

I'm well aware I was probably a bit young to be looking at that sort of stuff but... hey, curiosity got the better of me~.

And if it wasn't for my interest in that sort of stuff, I don't know if I ever would have found EcchiDreams.  

Now, my question for everyone reading this:

My first experience. Well back in my youth I was a bit of a rule breaker, This was back in maybe 2008 or 07 and at the time I was hugely into Naruto. Youtube had a lot of videos that were basically Naruto Fanfictions so actually these were also my first introductions into fanfics. and well One of them was able to have a few very risque pictures in them. I remember seeing it and wondering, why the hell is that character sucking on that guys arm. But it wasn't an arm. It was a penis. and since then, I haven't been able to find it anywhere, not that I mind though, it really wasn't that good of a story in hindsight.

I'm not entirely too sure. I first came across Hentai way back in the day on P2P applications like WinMX, Kazaa, Limewire. This story has another story attached to it... So bare with me.

This was way back in 2001/2002, where I'd use it to find music that I liked or remixes done by nobodies who wanted to be creative and whatever. Then I discovered that I could download other things, and pretty soon I was downloading all the things just because I could... Over a 64Kbps or a 128Kbps internet connection - which at the time was "Cutting Edge". I then discovered an image... I remember it quite vividly, because I liked the art style of an anime girl getting her (What I assume) to be her virginity taken, because there was an angel "of virginity" flying away from her. At least that's what I could tell by the halo, I think it was a hymen. I was 11/12 years old at the time and didn't really fully understand it, but I've since never found that image. I also had downloaded a zip file that contained about 300-500 low-res images (Stunning at the time) which contained Pokémon porn, Digimon porn and all kinds of things.

Back then of course (I didn't know this) but you could bypass Windows Login just by pressing cancel, and it'll log you right into Windows. I had naively assumed that the password would keep me safe. It did not. Unfortunately whilst I was at school I found out that my parents had confiscated my laptop (A Toshiba Tecra 8000) because my dad had gotten a hold of it, and had accessed it without even asking me (Something that set in motion a series of events that would start a hacking war between my father and I).

They had told me off for all the porn on my laptop and merely shrugged it off and said "I had accidently downloaded it when I was downloading music." (Music Piracy wasn't really a big deal back then, at least not for the UK) and there was doubts at first but I showed them the application and how easy it was to download music from it, and how easy it was to download something nasty from there (Such as Viruses, Porn, and so on). I merely told them that I had intended on deleting the porn, and keeping the music. Something that I think they bought, but reluctantly. I then used the internet to find out how the fuck to protect myself from such assholish things in the future, and made sure to cover my tracks by taking my music, blowing it to a CD and then wiping the laptop, thus deleting absolutely everything, including my history.

The next thing I did was test and install a range of Operating Systems such as Windows Millenium, Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP Professional. Windows Millenium ran like dogshit, constantly crashing (Which I now know to be par for the course). Windows 2000 was stable, took ages to boot up but otherwise ran like butter down a hot knife. Then there was XP. I loved the look of XP; I loved the interface, I loved that I could use Messenger on it to talk to my friends (Like @Casey and @Дми́трий Разуваев) but it ran like an absolute twat on laptop, it was so fucking slow. Painfully slow.

In the end I had to settle for Windows 2000, and use Dad's computer to talk to my friends over Windows Messenger/MSN. What I ended up sticking Windows XP on my computer (in my bedroom) which had absolutely no internet connection, but had a network card. I then downloaded what I wanted on my laptop, and at the end of my session, I'd take my laptop upstairs and plug it into my computer (Via a modified ethernet cable that was turned into a cross over cable) and transferred all the files porn off of my Windows 2000 laptop to my XP Computer, on a secretly partitioned hard drive that didn't show up in a normal user account.

This absolutely worked. So now that, the back story is filled in...

My first experience with Hentai was me not knowing what that word meant. I preferred it for some reason over actual porn, and I didn't understand why. I think that I appreiated its value, the time and effort that went into creating and drawing these works of art. I was drawn in by Pokémon and Digimon stuff that I had stumbled on via P2P applications but it very quickly stemmed away from that to other things. I'd look up everything that I knew of at the time, and eventually in 2005/2006 I'd find myself on Danbooru/Gelbooru, and other similar websites where I could download this kind of thing to my hearts content. Which was just as well because I was getting content from P2P sites from files marked as Hentai that turned out to be something quite different and I was no longer using those applications anymore. I can't believe the amount of times I had to wipe my hard drives and eventually destroy them completely. Very costly.

I very quickly came to understand that my favouriate type at the time was catgirls (Nekos) despite my allergy and throughough dislike of cats in real life. I've always liked Neko's, and I've made sizable collections over the years. From there it kind of evolved and grew. I don't look at Pokemon/Digimon porn anymore (I mean at least, I don't go out of my way to look for it). I tend to just look for anything and everything.

It was about 2006 that I started learning of hentai videos; of which I got access to shitloads (from various sources). In later years (2011-onwards) I have a few favourate haunts such as Sankaku Complex, Yande.re and E621. Unfortuantely I find that most Japanese made hentai videos nowerdays are censored and I hate censorship so I don't really watch anything now, I just appreiate the pictures. I've kind of come almost full circle. It started with pictures and I seem to be back at pictures. Although not through P2P Applications (Never again), and certainly not through Torrenting.

Sorry if I rambled on there... I just wanted to share my experiences and I'm a little knackard.

My glimpse of Ecchi started around 11-12 years old of ages.... 2007? I do recall having a drawing hobby when around that ages so I usually draw all kind of stuff to sharp up my skill despite not having any art class. I got a request from a girl to draw female character which is new to me since It didn't come my mind to draw something like that and I usually draw males character like Naruto, Bleach, Dragon ball z, etc. Anyways! I "try" to find a pic that I could draw which I had no clue on how to draw a female body so I needed some help and then googles image bestow me with an ecchi image, not hentai by the way. I was pure back then not fully knowing that kind of "lood" but I quickly stop the attempt there since it made me feel weird and so I canceled the request without saving the image, of course, ~ As to what the image looks like, I can't seem to find it but I do remember a faint glimpse of what it looks like and it does pose something like this:

Fast forward ages of 15-17, My "special" friend had a cool background which caught my attention and kept quiet for the entire gym class until the others friends left to do some stuff and I had to speak to him about the background. Of course! It was a lood (lewd) hentai game which he gave me the name of the game and I, in my game obsession, give it a try while still knowing the hentai stuff which I had a bit of experience but not much, The game is called Monster Girl Quest and it was rather fun game to be honest. There was lots of lood but the game mechanic kept me engrossed on it and the plot too and no, I am lying when I say those two things kept me on finish it through to the end. This. This I can relate to a lot, ever since I got into hentai myself I've always had an affinity for it in comparison to actual porn. I've always thought it is a lot more enjoyable to look at because in the back of my mind I can imagine just how much work and effort was put into animating all of it. It's a talent, albeit a contentious one in some instances.

Whereas with real porn, practically anyone can record and publish their own pornographic video regardless of whether it's professional or amateur, and all-in-all, I don't think there is as much effort and specialised talent that goes into it. I have no idea if there are any clinical studies on this sort of thing, as I've never looked into it, but I would imagine there is a sizeable ratio between the amount of actual porn out there compared to animated porn - actual porn greatly outnumbering animated porn.

Also take into account what's possible in animation that cannot be replicated in real life. That in itself is an aspect which makes me find hentai more favourable over actual porn. There's a lot more room for creativity in hentai, so to speak.

...Apologies for getting carried away rambling there. (I guess that makes us even now, cause we both ended up rambling on? xP) I must admit, I do find this sort of stuff fascinating lol. @w@

First porn experience was probably around 13? I knew generally how sex works, but was genuinely curious of how the process looked like. Read from wikipedia and started searching, oddly enough porn was very difficult to come across, whether its because I was using wikipedia language or there were safety features enabled on my computer I don't recall. Down the road after learning of porn and realizing I enjoyed watching it I watched my first hentai, all I remember was that it was weird monster bondage stuff, go figure. As far as porn is concerned, I actualy have a fairly similar story to Adverse. I must have been only about 4 or 5 years old and my (then still just a teenager) uncle was living with us and left a porn tape in the VHS (or perhaps lying close to it and i was curious what the new movie was since my experience with VHS tapes at that point was disney movies and that's about it. hard to remember the specifics from that young) so when i started up the VCR I saw glimpses of my first porn and a man 'pulling a penis out of a suitcase' (clearly a dildo in retrospect). I'm not sure if you could call that moment 'responsible' or the fact that i've been a horny devil ever since  i can remember, always having an interest in seeing and touching what girls had under their skirts, but it certainly contriuted lol.

First experience with hentai must have been around 13 or so, when I realized exactly what 'everything by everyone' entailed while sifting through Naruto content on Newgrounds (ah hentai quiz games. you were so pointless when google image search was a thing. fond memories).

For a long time I found myself preferring animated hentai to live action porn, but then as I got more and more used to watching subbed anime I became able to tell the difference between good and bad japanese voice acting and now generally can't stand animated hentai. Hentai manga are still fun and typically a better time investment than live action porn (Particularly artists like alice no takarabako/Mizuriyu Kei, Homonculus, akatsuki Myuuto, and Drill Jill), but I'll prefer some high quality (Mia Malkova, Asa Akira, Kimmy Granger, Riley Reid, etc.) live action to the vast majority of animated hentai because of its low voicing and animation quality. That said, Pollinic Girls Attack will never not be a fun time.

Impossible to remember the exact details at this point.  It was the days of dial up internet.  Video was much rarer, slower to load, lower quality and shorter when it did exist.  I know I looked up a variety of images, splattered over various sites, both hentai and real people but can't remember anything more specific at this point.
